If there's one thing you get from this series, it's that loving takes work. It's not always an easy road.

In this final installment to this serial novel series, we finally get some closure and answers. Connie has mentally been on a downhill, self deprecating roller coaster since she took the plunge with her intense fitness instructor, Mellars. Despite the lust that consumes her whenever she's in his presence, she still fiercely loves her longtime boyfriend Cliff. But the insecurities and loneliness brought on by his seeming abandonment of her have certainly taken their toll. No matter what, the cheating factor is a huge no-no for me, but this author does a wonderful job of taking this subject matter and still making me feel sympathy for Connie. What she's doing isn't right, but it IS easy to understand.

Cliff is finally starting to understand what he's getting ready to lose in Connie as he feels her pulling away from him not only physically but emotionally as well. Finally!

Outside forces are still at work also as Cliff's selfish assistant works her evil deeds behind the scene. This chick is a real piece of work, but I'll say on that front that I got a little satisfaction on this subject....Ivy doesn't get away with everything!

I was also very satisfied with the ending, though I really didn't know what to expect before I picked up this last installment. These two were both so misguided, and their relationship was hard to root for at the beginning. Yet I came to care for everyone involved, and I think this author did a marvelous job with this story. Let's hope her next work is a full length novel.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I am really glad I requested/read this series!

The final ending to this four book short-and-sweet series is really satisfying.

Sometimes things needs to get worse before it gets better.

Once Connie's betrayal is exposed and the evil assistant's purpose is outed, things finally start to fall into place.

Reading prior books to this series was like watching a train wreck happening, and not being able to stop it. This last book shows how things can still be picked up after the train wreck. So I think it's a good idea to have all four books to this series at hand when you start it. Because the cliffhangers are quite suspenseful!

As for the story. I was well and truly worried that this book would fall short of my expectation. I have read one other series (which shall not be named) where the girlfriend/fiancée cheats and I was really unhappy with her behaviour and her thoughts. Although the cheating in this story wasn't right by anyone's standards, I think we honestly get a better feel for the heroine and can, to some extent, sympathise.

What I also loved about this series was that Cliff was well and truly a good man, albeit a bit oblivious to what happens around him, but the ending really helped with that. The thing is, I was so sure that it would turn out that Cliff was also cheating on Connie (with his evil assistant), like in the other stories, where it's used to "justify" the heroine's actions. But he wasn't. He was a sweet man with good intentions.

Received from Edelweiss for an honest review

I will have to say that this was my favorite part by far. There were so many elements rolled up into one, with even the side characters having a significant role. And let me just say one thing: there is a steamy 3-some scene in this book that I was not expecting but in the end was glad it was there. But I won't tell you which characters it involves. You guys will have to buy the book to find out.

In this installment Connie has finally made up her mind that she needs to once and for all end things with Mellors. But with Ivy working against her will it be too late? Will Cliff stay in the dark regarding Connie's indiscretion or will he find out? What will happen with the future of Chatterbox?

I think one of the reasons I enjoyed this series so much was the fact that Connie's and Cliff's relationship was not perfect. They were faced with REAL challenges and situations that many couples today face. Love is not perfect and it does not always end with a happy ending. True relationship take work with both members making sacrifices and this is was the Miss Chatterley Series is all about

And can i just say the way Logan Belle ended his series was just AMAZING! It was so beautiful and unexpected and it actually made me shed a tear or two (okay more like 10).

If you guys haven't already picked this up. I really suggest you do! Start with the first part it's only 99cents! And I guarantee you you will like it :)

A big thank you to Edelweiss, Pocket Star books and Logan Belle for the opportunity to read and review this series!

This was such a redeeming chapter for me but not in the way most people would think. Before I jump into my full review I'll give a brief recap of the final part of the Miss Chatterley series. I want to put a spoiler warning at this point of the review.

Last part was the biggest downer chapter for me but I hoped the next chapter would be better. Well it was. These were the highlights.

1. Connie was still ridiculous and unlikeable.

2. Cliff got mad, then a wake up call.

3. Ivy got down and dirty and then got her comeuppance.

4. Dukes was a bastard.

5. An actual love connection was formed.

I want to start with my feelings on Dukes since he was my least favorite character and I'm sure he was supposed to be. Dukes was an asshole but he was a flat asshole. He had very little characterization throughout the book other than his desire to get what Cliff had. I actually found his interactions with Ivy to be the most fascinating dynamic of the book. There is something about dirty, kinky non-loving sex that makes a person interested.

Ivy was the second most interesting and most reviled character in the series. She was manipulative, sneaky, and willing to do just about anything for money. I loved to hate her and I loved her interactions with Dukes. She was just so deliciously clueless about real power dynamics. Every second I spent with her was one more second I got to laugh at the story. I love clueless villains and when their comeuppance comes, it is delicious.

To be honest, this chapter had a lot less Connie and it thrilled me to no end. Generally I hate characters who do something stupid and spend a long time rhapsodizing over their guilt and how they regret it but continue to do it. Connie didn't just cheat. She cheated and cheated and cheated. I detest cheating in books. I can accept a historical rationale on occasion when a heir is needed or whatnot but in contemporaries I detest it. I understood she was bored. I understood she was feeling neglected. Once she decided Mellors penis was the answer, I was done with her. I get it is a retelling so I should really blame D.H. Lawrence but I just had trouble with the whole concept.

I understand the concept behind Connie's mistake. I understand she said it was a mistake. The problem I had was Cliff's sort of forgiveness when he learned of Ivy's duplicity. Yes he was manipulated. Yes he made mistakes. Yes he neglected her. At the end of the day she still chose to cheat and she chose to take the coward's way out and not tell Cliff. Frankly I just didn't care if she got a HEA at that point. She sort of deserved a crappy ending or at least a more ambiguous ending after the crap.

As a side note I really loved the little love story between Duncan and Hillary. In the midst of debauchery, dishonesty, and disillusionment a love story formed between two side characters. Sadly I found them more interesting than Connie and Cliff. It was nice to know there were decent people in this story and decent people falling in love. I sort of wish they had their own book.

I have to say I enjoyed the series as a whole. I've never read "Lady Chatterley's Lover" by D.H. Lawrence and I don't really intend to but it was worth a look at a classic. I really enjoyed the villains of the piece more so than the heroes and heroines. I loved each moment spent with the villains and sighed the moment the hero and heroine came into the picture. I have a great respect for an author who can make the villains not only the most interesting characters but the ones you want more of in the future. I would love to hear what happened to Ivy at the end. I'm still thinking about her.

Could an Affair Ever Solve Relationship Problems? Miss Chatterley: Torn and Spent

INCLUDES REVIEW OF SPENT

My Take

I think the last two pieces of this series redeem it in my mind. This is largely a character-driven book. Connie learns that spouses in the "tech" industries are often left to fend for themselves emotionally and socially. What was once a relationship between two people with lots of time becomes a bit more one-sided. But, it was getting that way before Connie and Cliff moved to California, and Cliff's assistant was already a thorn in Connie's side.

Connie needs to find a functional life that is, yes, different from the one she left in New York. It reminds me a bit of the movie LOST IN TRANSLATION with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. Scarlett plays Charlotte, a well-educated, young wife whose husband is emotionally and physically absent while she tags along on an assignment. She wanders aimlessly and makes friends with an actor brought to Japan to film commercials. I have had that aimless feeling when I have been with my husband on business trips. But both experiences are short term. If you are someplace and know it's long term you have to pull it together. You also have to communicate with your partner.

I think in TORN and SPENT Connie does that but already has created the disaster. Really, she gave it up when she left her dreams for his and had no plan about what to do. But will an affair solve the problem. Why would she do something so A. stupid, and B. dishonest? If your bored, don't screw someone to alleviate it: get a job, volunteer, do your art. UGHHHHH! Maybe she feels betrayed but you don't let the decision to be in a relationship or not rest on a box of condoms.

The writing is competent, and the sex scenes are more interesting. For Connie the sex isn't just about the emotional need for Cliff, it becomes about Mellors, the Crossfit coach being rough, and satisfying, immediate and THERE. She basically becomes addicted to him and kind of loses interest in Cliff. Will she be able to get back the feeling she had when they were happy? Maybe she wants to make something, anything, happen to what has become such a dull life; a life hanging around her head like dirty lank hair, like a cold and rainy week when it should be summer. But she just ends up poking the wasps' nest and you know what happens then.

I would not have been able to stop reading these because they are well serialized. I think serialization is different from just cutting a book up and doling it out piece by piece. The book has to be written with a cliff hanger for each episode. This is well edited in that regard.

I think the serial would be a great beach read, possibly not if you are about to postpone your dreams to follow your partner far from your friends, but otherwise you might like it.

Spent, Miss Chatterley #4 by Logan Belle
* I received this ARC free from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review*

Connie has been unhappy for a while because of everything going on since they moved to California but with the help of her sister, things are changing between her and Cliff. Cliff realizes that he is losing Connie and is willing to do anything to save their relationship. She is still attracted to Mellors but it’s purely sexual, she enjoys the thrill he provides. She knows that she has to end things with Mellors or she will lose everything that she has ever wanted.

In the final installment, Connie has made her decision and is going to set things straight with Mellors. What she doesn’t realize is that things have been set in motion by Ivy and Dukes that will change her life forever. Things are quickly going downhill and he does the only thing she can, she moves back to New York. As she settles down to her new life, she gets a surprise visitor that gives her a new lease on life.

I loved this installment and was so glad to see what happened with Ivy and Dukes. Connie’s sister rocks and with the help of Cliff’s friend, they find a way to show Cliff that not everyone in his life has his best interest at heart. Cliff totally surprised me at the end with his decision and it made me love him that much more. He may be a computer geek but he is a true romantic at heart.

This installment was literally an emotional rollercoaster. I didn’t know what was going to happen next and a couple times I had to put the book down to take a breath. I loved that the book had all of the characters from the earlier installments in it, it was nice to see Connie’s sister find happiness too.

Overall this was my favorite installment in the series and a perfect ending to it. I give Miss Chatterley Part IV: Spent 4 Flaming Hearts.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Pocket Star and Edelweiss.)
Connie has decided that it’s time to tell Cliff about what has been going on. He wants to work on their relationship, but Connie’s not sure what she wants.
It’s also time for Cliff to decide what he’s going to do with Chatterbox.
How will Connie’s confession change Connie and Cliff’s relationship? Can Cliff forgive her? And what about Mellors?

I was a little disappointed with this final instalment, the relationships seemed to have changed drastically between this part and the previous parts, and it just wasn’t as satisfying.

Firstly Connie suddenly begins to sway more towards Cliff than Mellors, which is not how it had been, and Mellors doesn’t seem to want to fight for her. In fact we barely even see him in this part, and the passion between them is suddenly just gone.
We do get more from Ivy and Dukes again, and there is even a threesome involved! While this was quite a sexy encounter, it just wasn’t as enjoyable as Connie and Mellors together, and because there is very little Mellors in this book I felt a bit let down.
The storylines were tied up nicely, and the ending was a happy one, it just wasn’t the ending I was expecting. I haven’t read ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ so I don’t know if it’s the same ending-wise, but it just wasn’t how I thought it would end. This for me is by far the weakest part of this serial, which is unfortunate as I was expecting an explosive finale.
Overall; disappointing final part to this serial.
7 out of 10.

Okay, so Miss Chatterley, Part 4: Spent ties up the series nicely. Maybe in fact a little too nicely. Spent picks up where Torn, book three left off. I am now back to understanding Connie and feeling for her. But if I had to pick sides, my loyalty would be and has always been with Cliff.

I can't say that I went into reading Spent with any idea of what was going to happen. Wait, that's not true. I went in thinking that Connie's inability to grow a pair was going to blow up in her face. I went in thinking that EVERYONE was playing poor Cliff. I didn't expect the level of deceit to go as far as it was alluded to. I guess the old saying of don't hate the player, hate the game is true. But I still want to hate several characters.

The Miss Chatterley series shows what can happen when you lose yourself to someone else and their dreams, sacrificing your dreams for theirs. It's a story of actually learning what it means to love someone and discovering that love and sex are not one and the same.

In Spent, Connie's affair comes to light with a violent outcome. Truths are discovered and realizations are made. I don't want to be too judgmental of the characters so I understand that I need to suspend reality just a little bit. I just think the timeline for the ending resolution happened too quickly.

SPENT is about aftermath and forgiveness, but also about second chances.  While I was torn reading the story as to what outcome I wanted for Cliff and Connie, the author did a perfect job with it.

Emotions fly high and betrayal cuts deep.  I felt really bad for Cliff in this one because not only was he betrayed by the woman he loves, but also in business.  SPENT is his time to regroup and reinvent himself.  Maybe go back to basics and regroup.

I especially liked that this was not a gratuitous second chance and immediate forgiveness.   Connie had the time apart to think about what she did.  To see where she went wrong.  And to realize how she hurt not only others, but herself as well.

When I read the ending, I was happy with it.  Happy with how it ended, how they got there and the promise for their future.  It felt real.  And that's what was most important.

For fans of serials, you have to read this one!  And even if you're not a fan, they're all out now and there's only 4 parts!!  So at a whopping $3.96 for the whole story, this is definitely worth it.

Well that was pretty good!
This is the final installment in this four part story.
Connie has realized her mistake in having an affair and is trying to make it up to Cliff. But with her enemies armed with information and their own agenda, Connie is going to have a harder time than she realizes trying to redeem herself.

A great ending, closure and some fun twists. I liked how Mellors's character turned out, especially how Connie finally compares him to Cliff, and how we saw more of Cliff and Connie together. I think Connie became more of a full person for me in this last installment. And Cliff really took responsibility for his actions, making him the most sympathetic and likeable character in the book. Ivy is evil as ever, making her a great villain, and the ending left me satisfied.

I would recommend it to friends who enjoy erotica and retellings. The passion is hot and I really liked how the story ended.

This is a series that you need to read in order. So if you haven't read the first three parts, I recommend that you do.
I have to admit I was a little nervous about this book. There had been so much tension building up to this point that I was afraid how it would all go down. Since this is the fourth and final book of Miss Chatterley, I won't go into much detail, lest I spoil the ending for readers. But I will say this, I was pleased with the ending. There were a few nail-biting moments, but I thought the author did a good job of bringing the book to a believable resolution.
Connie and Cliff went through an emotional wringer throughout this series. They learned a lot about themselves as well as each other. Overall I really liked this series. I think it strayed a bit from Lady Chatterley's Lover, but it still is an entertaining story.

Logan Belle has written an amazing four part story that had me riveted to my seat until I was done reading. Connie Chatterley is a conflicted character and the writing conveys the emotion realistically making the Connie relatable to the reader even though we may not agree with her actions. She is flawed, but who isn’t. The story speaks to a deep loneliness and the mistakes we make when we don’t communicate effectively with our partners. It speaks to trust in people that only think of their own interests. It speaks to deep relationships as well as ones that are carnal and don’t even touch the surface of emotion. The sexy scenes broke the temperature gage, especially the ones with some of the secondary characters. Overall, I felt I read a fulfilling story with a great balance of elements and nothing in excess. Definitely a writer to follow. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Miss Belle.

The last installment was riveting to the very end! Connie's decides to end her affair with Oliver but of course all bad things come to light! Ivy helps Cliff to see the betrayal first hand. Will Connie and Cliff be able to overcome this? Logan Belle writes Connie and Cliff as a couple you can relate too. Not all relationships are perfect. This was obvious throughout all 4 installments. Life happens and you need to deal. How you decide is up to you. Connie made her own decisions and must atone for them. Cliff isn't perfect and knows this. The ending of this series is so amazing! It left me thinking about the characters for hours afterwards. Miss Chatterley was the first books that I read from Logan Belle and definitely wont be the last!!

I received a copy of Spent courtesy of the publisher for a review.

Spent is the fourth and final conclusion to the Miss Chatterly story. I LOVED it! Connie ends up getting caught with Mellors, of course, and not even with her pants down! Ivy was the reason behind it, obviously, and I just wish Connie would've stuck up to her a little more and made the bitch get out of the house! But oh well, assault charges are real. Cliff and Connie's relationship had a HEA, which I'm very fond of, and I was happy with the conclusion of Miss Chatterly!

Another fab cliffhanger from LB. Although I do have to say I thought this was gonna be the last one was a little surprised :)

It's amazes me how much detail she (the auth) can fit into so few pages. This one is about ppl having their eyes opened.
