In a town as small as Winchester, there’s no place to hide. Now that Nicki has seen what the people in power in Winchester will do to keep their control, she understands that she needs to play it safe. Because she’s threatened to topple the thrones of the town’s rulers, she’s on their radar.

Worse, Nicki feels responsible for the murder of a prostitute she’s interviewed, so she wants to help other women in the profession. The only way she can is by reporting every newsworthy tidbit she discovers.

Unfortunately, that keeps her under the watchful eyes of the power players in her corrupt town…

Well yay!!! I am all caught up and ready for Jades new release in a few days... Let me just say that in these 8 books.. I have completely become addicted to Nicki!! Her wild ways, and innocent soul... Her deep loyalty to a man she has loved forever while still having a blast and enjoying life. Her incredible tenacity at learning a craft and getting herself in some very crazy situations... She is just the strong willed girl with flair and gusto and just immerses herself into everything with body mind and soul... Whether it be a tryst with a hottie... A dangerous story... Or her love affair with her best friend... This chick rocks!!!!

Can not wait for the next adventure!!

Captivating Steam and Suspense

Another great book in the “Nicki Sosebbe” series that I could not put down. Nicki continues to investigate the underground meth trade in Winchester putting herself in danger more than once. At the same time her dreams of a future with Sean seem to be coming true. Another side of Sean is revealed. This book is full of explosive steam, drama, mystery and suspense that is intriguing and captivating with lots of depth. I received a copy of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.

I’m in the complete minority here, maybe I’m missing something about this character’s appeal? She’s desperate, juvenile and naive. I feel like see’s 18 not 30. Her relationships are shallow, no feelings are discussed, but she sure thinks sex solves everything. She’s a hot mess and yet I keep reading hoping something will redeem these cha. However, Jesse is a superstar and way to good for Nicki. I hope he gets his own series.

“Blind: Nicki Sosebee #8” by Jade C. Jamison
5 out of 5 stars

Are we blind to the unsavory things going on around us? Is it intentional or do we really just not care if it doesn’t directly affect us? Nicki is still chasing down the answers to who is behind the crystal meth drug trade in her little town of Winchester. The only problem is that law enforcement isn’t being very helpful and the readers of The Tribune have moved on to other topics. This leaves Nicki wondering if her little burg is ever going to truly “see” the corruption and illegal activities happening right under their noses. Will she ever be able to get to the bottom of the story and will it be before the danger catches up to her?

Nicki’s diving deeper into the underbelly of Winchester and it’s exciting to see! I love her tenacity and her determination to uncover the truth about the meth trade and prostitution in her city. Her unwillingness to give up in the face of potential danger makes her a bit of an equal with Sean and his BAMF status. Perhaps she should get a tattoo as well! I love this side of her and I hope we continue to see it as the series goes on.

In her personal life Nicki is on cloud nine as her dreams of a relationship with Sean are finally coming true. I want to concentrate on Sean because I feel like his character really grew with this book. I have to admit that I wasn’t always a fan of his and felt that in past outings he seemed a little selfish concerning Nicki. However, looking back now I see that Jamison played her cards very close to the vest and created a subtle build up that made their coupling all the more realistic because of it. I have seen subtle signs of Sean’s true feelings here and there throughout the series but that would inevitably be replaced with what can only be called “I don’t want her but no one else should have her either” behavior. It rubbed me the wrong way where his character was concerned and pushed me toward Team Jesse. After this book I’m singing a different song. The Sean that emerges in these pages is a deep, thoughtful, and even romantic guy. He possesses an almost old fashioned quality in his approach to his relationship with Nicki and the depth of his feelings for her are an insight into all of his previous actions. Where I once saw a selfish man, I now see a guy who was fighting his emotions in an effort to avoid being hurt again. The strength of their friendship is an awesome foundation and only serves to make their transition into a couple that much more believable. These two really know each other well and it shines a light on how right finally being together is for them. The Sean of this book is a man worth rooting for and I love the “adultness” of their relationship. Nicki seemed much more emotionally mature in this book and I think finally being with Sean is a key element in that. Their chemistry is a subtle burn on every page and in every look. I can feel their attraction as it burns up the pages, and even better, I can feel the love that is at the root of it.

I am in awe of Jamison. If every writer could capture my attention the way she does I don’t think I’d ever leave the house. I love her characters and the “realness” in which she writes them. I think she has lived in each of their heads and it comes through the page with every line. She seems to know just the right time to give the readers a “pay off” and each time she gives the series a blast of freshness that easily keeps me coming back for more. She is, hands down, one of my favorite authors! Even as I write this I’m making plans to start the next book and see where Nicki’s adventures take her next. I can’t recommend anything Jamison has written enough!

I received this book from the amazing author for an honest review.

*takes tissue out of box and dabs my eyes* I am very very very sad friends. Why am I sad? I have have red alllll the current Nicki books and have to wait!! Incase you don't know me, I am not a very good waiter!! LOL

Alright lets discuss book 8, shall we? So Niki and Sean are in love and happy. Sean admits he loves her and I had tears streaming down my face. I then promptly PM'ed Jade SQUEEEEEIng about the confession.....freaky book girl here yes. Nicki and Sean are alll great this book but Sean does worry me when he wants to forgo protection during their "activity" time. When Nicki says "What if we get preggo?" He says "we get married." Do I want them married? HELL YES but I worry about his comment a smidge. Sean does don his mega alpha hottie role when Carlos the gangster/ex-lover of Nicki comes to town. It was hot but he got a bit douche with Nicki after she meets with Carlos. I agreed with Nicki on what he did in the garage...*shakes finger* not a good boy Sean!!!

Jesse......sigh......Jesse finds out about Nicki and Sean. Sean and him duke it out over their feelings for her. Both men love her and she them but Sean is who Nicki's heart has always belonged too. I think Jesse knew deep down that he would lose Nicki to Sean someday.

Jillian, Nicki's bestie, is a hot mess. She is having some marriage troubles and we really see what is going on this book. The very together married wife of 3 is not so together this book. I feel bad but when I read the snippet for book 9, nooooooot good!!!

Nicki is investigating the meth trade this book. She is also investigating the death of a prostitute who helped give her some "off the record" information in this story. Nicki also gets hired on part time by the paper so we are seeing her career dream job finally being accomplished.

Ok people, I have read these books and I have reviewed these books. I have to tell you i love this series. Nicki is a kick ass chick. You can totally relate to her. She makes me, laugh, smile and cringe at times but doesn't a real friend do that too???? Seriously this series is a kickass read.

I did promise to write a full review of this series but as usual I ran out of time.

Yes, I love everything that Jade C Jamison writes and it's possibly true that I can't be impartial in my thoughts about her books but for me they are just so enjoyable and so diverse.

Nicki Sosebee was one of those series that I was itching to get around to and after a recent author take-over by Jade on a well-known blog I knew the time had come for Nicki Sosebee to enter my life!

The characters in this series are all really enjoyable and you do get sucked into the inevitable Team Jesse or Team Sean scenario and for me my choices change like the wind. I love Sean and all that he means to Nicki but the love that Jesse holds for her is so touching as well.

Each of the storylines in this series surrounds Nicki's exploits and endeavours in trying to investigate and write articles for the newspaper that she works for on a part time basis. Inevitably, each time Nicki finds herself in trouble though and her rescuers are normally in the form of Jesse or Sean. Nicki's investigations show her that all is not as it seems in her town but determined to see justice done, Nicki continues with her investigations and risks not only her safety but the livelihoods of those around her.

I can't wait for Fake and I hope that it's as enjoyable as the first 8 books in this series.

This is a series that keeps going from strength to strength as the story and characters develop. If you've not read the rest of the series then you need to!

I absolutely love Nicki Sosebee and she has developed and grown so much since the first book. There was a naivety to her about what was going on around her, which has changed greatly to the point where she wants to make a difference. She wants everybody else to see the problems too and not be blind to them.

Nicki is still trying to raise awareness of the town's drug problem through her job as a freelance reporter. She starts off being reluctant too pursue the story after the murder of one of her source's in 'Innocent Bystander'. With some convincing, she continues to try and open people's eyes to the situation but with a powerful and rich member of the community implicated, how much can one person do?

She is still basking in her new relationship with her the man she has wanted forever: her best friend and the hottest man in town! Nicki seems more confident in her relationship with Sean and the thought of looking to the future doesn't scare her as much as it did with other men. It feels right. It's what she has always wanted.

Sean has the look of a bad boy but inside he has the heart of a marshmallow. He is the ideal man in that he recognises Nicki's need to be independent and discover things by herself, but he is also fiercely protective. Whilst he doesn't always agree with her decisions, he trusts and respects her. Nicki is understanding of Sean's protective nature but feels that she needs to keep her independence in some areas. Compromise is a recurring word in their relationship vocabulary.

I am eagerly awaiting the next story in the series and I can't wait to see where their relationship takes them. Big smile on my face when reading this book!

I want to say this series has grown in a way that would inspire many people to take up a cause even if the odds are against them. However we all know that many causes are just that lost. I understand that Nicki wants to make a difference because in some way we all feel that way and in some cases we do. She has made a difference by influencing the people around her however her goals were very short sighted and narrow minded and I guess the author was portraying that by the harshness that was set up by the detective.

She definitely needs more development in the character when it comes to professionally. The relationship between Nicki and Sean has me reeling a little because she should have learned from previous encounters of what is appropriate and what is inappropriate. I feel she is short sighted by many things and has not learned at all. Her niavete is refreshing but overall is annoying epecially for how old she is portrayed. Either the author needs to make the character grow up or the series is going to end up stagnant with the reader seeing the same things again and again.

Overall this book is intriguing and annoying. I wanted more than what was given and apparently that will not happen until there is more character development with the main character which is also diappointing.

Series: Nicki Sosebee #8
Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance
Received from: Jade C. Jamison in exchange for an honest review
Recommended for: 18 + due to adult situations and sexual content
Grammar/editing: B – a few small errors

This is book eight in the Nicki Sosebee series and they do need to be read in order.

This is the last book currently available in this series. If you haven’t already, then you need to catch up to be ready for the release of FAKE on the 10th of this month… and I do mean NEED to…

I am so glad I have devoted so much time to reading these books for the last week. For example, this book was a stoplight book. That means I could not put it down even while driving. I was praying for the lights to turn red just so I could read another page or two while we waited.

In the last review, I asked if you were team Sean or team Jesse. I am team Sean – all of the way. I asked you, “why?” For me, it’s because of Nicki’s reactions to the thought of ‘forever’ with each of them. With Jesse, it is panic and with Sean it feels like a natural answer.

I’m waiting, right now, for Jade to send over FAKE. I’m nervous. For weeks, she’s been talking about the soul-twisting reactions she’s having with our favorite characters’ lives. What trouble is Nicki going to get them all into next?

Finally finished all 8 of the Nicki Sosebee series ...and now I have to patiently wait for #9 to come at some point. At least in this one, we see a more "reserved" Nicki...only in the sense that she is somewhat settled in one relationship, much to the chagrin of 2 other would be suitors. Maybe not really suitors, but more like bed warmers and although Nicki is not shy about expressing herself sexually, she really does seem to be in love this time for real and realtively behaving herself.
We still are dealing with murder, meth trade, prostitution and crooked authority figures all dirtying up her small town...but at least Nicki now has a steady job with the paper and a more stable relationship at home.
I adore this girl and her antics/adventures so so much and if you want a light read that is just sexy enough with a bit of suspense, to keep you entertained for a few hours, this is the series for you!

*****5***** Fighting the Phoenix cameo is awesome stars!!!

Was so excited to get this book I read it to fast then when I read the snippet of the next book I was mad I couldn't read the whole thing then. I love Nikki and Sean together and how she is growing within her self and with Sean. I was sad for Jesse and wanted to hold him like he was a real man then I snapped myself out of my imagination LOL. As bad as I feel for Jesse Nikki better watch him from a distance and not ruin what's shes waited years for and risk losing Sean. Can't wait for the next book BAMF!!

Nicki, Sean, Jesse... my three favorite characters to read about! Was THRILLED to see how Nicki and her room mate turned out *dont want to give anything away* I was captured from page one. I've read all of Jade's books and I cant even explain how excited I was for Blind to come out. Jade again has me wanting for more! I was so sad to see the book end...Yet I am thrilled there is a new one on the way in 2013! Thanks again for a great series to read!

Another must read! Once again I was not disappointed. It was great to see Sean and Nicki's relationship move forward and I feel like with all of Sean's support Nicki can tackle anything! And OMG Jesse ( who I love) has a short part in this book but him adding a lip ring was all I needed to know! Sexy! I can't wait for the next book!

I just love this series! I love that Sean and Nicki are together. It makes me wonder what's going to happen to ruin their relationship. I hope nothing because I'm finally on board with Sean. Speaking of Sean, holy hotness! There is some sexy hotness going on there! Is it wrong that I got a little turned on when Sean and Jesse fought? Well done, Jade. Well done!

What a fantastic ending to a great series.
I felt bad for Jesse, I was rooting for him the entire time. But unfortunately for him he didn' stand a chance against Sean. He was and always would be the man of Nicki's dreams. I wish Nicki could have gotten all the answers she wanted , but she did get a HEA!!!!

Love this series, so much. This Nicki Sosebee series is like an adventure, a really fun adventure. You seriously never know what she's going to end up doing next, where she's going to go, what she's going to get into. Is there going to be trouble? The author excels at keeping us on our toes from one book to the next. Can't wait to see where she takes Nicki and Sean and the rest of the crew next!

Love love love! Jade has done it once again, this time giving us so much Sean we don't know what to do with. Nicki is a girl that we all want as a friend, because she'll keep us daring and open, while all of us wish we had a Sean in our lives. Can't wait for the next Sosebee installment!
