They make sweet music together, but can it last?

Megan Walker doesn't plan to attend her high school reunion, but her best friend Lisa begs her to come along. Megan doesn't want to risk running into her old boyfriend Tyler Green, a man who has since become a rich and famous rock star, the frontman of a heavy metal band called Madversary. Lisa convinces her that Tyler would never show up for something like a reunion, so Megan gives in, only to regret it. Because when Tyler does show up, the spark reignites, and she doesn't know that she can bear letting him go again.

Warning: Not for the faint of heart! This book contains explicit sex and naughty language. Proceed with caution...if you dare.

I'm not crying, you're crying. Sorry, excuse me whilst I compose myself.

I love a sexy hero with a soft side, I love an everyday heroine and I'm a huge sucker for second-chance romance. All that, added to great writing, meant that I thoroughly enjoyed Love and Music. A few chapters from Tyler's pov would have pushed this from 4.5 stars to the full 5, though I can understand that the one person perspective left us as unsure and anxiously hopeful as Megan.

What really stood out for me was just how emotional this story felt. I could feel my heartstrings being tugged on pretty much from the first page. There were times when I felt anxious, parts that made me smile , moments when it wasn't just the summer weather raising the temperature and pieces that sliced my heart into ribbons. The majority of the book is set over a really short period of time, and yet I found myself utterly convinced by the genuineness of their feelings for one another. Circumstances didn't give them opportunity to totally talk, in the way that both wanted, but it did offer untold opportunities to reconnect in so many other ways.

For me this was a beautiful story of reawakening, both of the heart and soul. An opportunity to correct past mistakes and to love in a forever way.

This may work for you but it did not work for me. This is my opinion and how I perceived the story.

The entire relationship makes no sense. I felt no connection. The heroine was quick to say "ok, I will go back to your hotel after you have not seen me in 10 years and never tried to contact me". The minute she said she would back to his hotel room, I was done.

I love second chance romances, but if the hero is a huge rock star and he left you then have some self respect and have him fight for you.

The writing did not flow for me either. I want my money back!

I LOVED this shorter novel by Jade C. Jamison, I'm a sucker for second chance romance stories and this definitely scratched an itch. FULL REVIEW to follow...

BOOK REVIEW: MADversary – Jade C. Jamison – 4 Stars

MADversary is a tale of second chances. A friends to lovers’ story that spanned over almost a year in late high school. Now ten years on their class reunion is looming and Megan Walker has never got over her first love, the boy she gave her innocence to, before they went their separate ways when they graduated and left for college.

But, when the love of your young life follows you daily, on the radio, on magazine covers and TV appearances, it’s hard to shut down and let bygones be bygones… especially when you are still completely and irrevocably in love with them.

*

Megan Walker had spent the last ten years in limbo. Graduating with an English Literature degree, she went back to her hometown only to find jobs few and far between. Settling down as a librarian assistant wasn’t the dream but it gave her the perfect platform to embrace her love of books and reading.

When her best friend, Lisa announces that she wants nothing more than to reconnect with fellow school friends, Megan refuses to attend the reunion with her. The only person worthy of her attentions is sitting in front of her, so why dredge up conversations with unrecognisable faces from the past? But Lisa isn’t taking no for an answer, and as she realises that her worries of one of the biggest Rock Star’s attending a measly school reunion is more than unlikely, she gives in to her friend’s pleas.

However, Tyler Green has other ideas…

Seeing Tyler again was Megan’s worst fear. Her emotions and heart couldn’t bear another fall when it came to this guy, so distance and self-preservation was the order of the day. Trying to keep her distance however, was something else entirely when he finally approaches her with his trademark jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, jelly-leg smile.

Reconnecting with her first love should have been awkward, especially considering how world’s apart they now were, but reminiscence has a way of rebuilding lost years, and when Tyler makes it obvious he still holds a flame for his high-school sweetheart, Megan’s sense of abandonment takes a nose-dive as she follows him later that evening to his hotel room.

Sparks fly… but it’s only the next day she realises that Tyler is soon to leave and head back into his Rock n Roll lifestyle, and feeling the sense of loss once again was all too much to bear.

Tyler may be a Rock Star and had his fair share of fun with faceless groupies, but when it comes to Megan Walker, he cannot help but feel that close connection they once shared - for she was the one that got away.

When a crazy ex from their school year recognises the flame that still burns bright between Megan and Tyler, she does everything she can to put out the blaze, and if she’s smart enough… she may just succeed.

*

I love Jade C. Jamison, that woman knows how to play advocate to my Achilles heel. I am a true sucker for Rock Stars and second-chance romances, and she played her part well. Very well! I loved Tyler and I understood Megan. Her reasoning’s were warranted, and I could quite believe her need to keep a distance to protect herself and her heart. But come on… you never forget your first love, and in this instance when that first love is adorned by millions the world over, you can’t help but yell, ‘YOU GO GIRL,’ from your reading chair.

I am really pleased with the way the story panned out and was happy with the ending, although I would have loved to have seen an Epilogue concluding events maybe a year down the line… That’s my only criticism as the ending, although it made me smile, I would have liked a little more.

MADversary is a fun, entertaining and heart-warming read and I highly recommend it.

4 Stars.

Love and Music by Jade Jamison
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Uhm can I say Tyler is some delicious fun!!! This story is a fun, sexy read. It is all about Megan who doesn't want to attend her 10th year high school reunion but her bestie basically pouts, whines and strong arms her into going. Megan says she will stay but If Tyler shows, she is outta there. She is still madly in love with her first love and doesn't think she can survive him leaving again.
SOOOOO the weekend arrives and Lisa (the bestie ) says "yeah uhm sooo Tyler is coming!!" Megan is not thrilled. She never assumed Mr. Rock Star would come back to town. Well Tyler strolls in and immediately Megan and him have this instant connection but Megan thinks it is a "friend zone" connection. Boy is she proven wrong later that night in his room *wiggles eyes*
Sooo Megan gets Fa-Reaked out by the sex and connection so she does what any irrational girl does, she leaves!!! Tyler is freaked out he did something wrong. Well Megan doesn't hide anymore and Tyler and her again have a hot and steamy connection after his band performs at the reunion. All seems to be going great until *insert wicked witch theme song* Tamara arrives. She was Tyler's Ex before Megan. She makes Megan doubt Tyler's intentions and fidelity .
Wanna know what happens? Well People you are gonna have to read. I will say I loved the ending of the story and the banter between Tyler and Megan. it made my heart very happy......

This is the first book I have read by Jade Jamison and oh wow, I think I will definitely be downloading more books of hers because I could not put this book down. It was my Lazy Sunday book and I enjoyed every page of it.

It’s been ten years since high school ended and ten years since Megan Walker has seen her old high school boyfriend Tyler Green – now famous rockstar and adored by millions of girls and she’d like to say she hasn’t thought about him, but that’s not true as she had kept up with his career, no matter how much it hurts.

When her best friend Lisa begs her to go to their High School reunion, Megan doesn’t want to go in risk of running into the boy who stole her heart for those short months they were together but in the end tells Lisa she’ll go, but if she sees Tyler, its game over, she’s going home. Lisa has convinced her that in no way would Tyler want to come to the reunion.

Problem is, Tyler does turn up and he heads straight for Megan, looking as gorgeous as he was ten years ago, just more muscular and manly. The more alcohol Megan consumes, the more she feels relaxed in her and Tyler’s little bubble in the corner of the room. But it’s a bad thing, because the more they talk, the more all her old feelings are re-servicing and she decides she’s never really gotten over him, no matter how short their relationship was.

As it’s only a weekend thing, Megan can’t help knowing that this is only for a few days and after that Tyler will go back to the rock and roll lifestyle and she will be left heartbroken again. It takes every bit of energy to return the next two days. And even then, Tyler can’t stay away from her.

Megan was a great read. I felt her hesitation about going to the reunion. In my opinion, Tyler was the one who got away and seeing him would bring everything back up. She was really strong to go to the reunion, even though she was pretty much left along for most of it, due to Lisa wandering off, which I actually thought was highly unfair seeing as Lisa was the one who begged Megan to go and didn’t want to go on her own – whereas Megan didn’t even want to go, and she was stranded.

I fell in love with Tyler. He wasn’t your typical rockstar. Yes he’d had his fair share of groupies, but when he was first introduced, he was so happy to see Megan and really wanted to reconnect with her. You could see that he could have only really been there for Megan and it got me thinking about if he had called to see If Megan was going, just so he could go and see her. As many of you know, from reading my other reviews, Tyler has tattoos and piercings, which is a massive thumbs up from me. It was great to see another side to the famous people I read about. Tyler was sweet and considerate, highly good at sex (woah) and of course, still harboured feelings for Megan.

There is a big bust up near the end, concerning a psycho ex who begins to spout lies about Tyler to Megan to keep them from each other, but in the end, love concurs all and I thought the ending was particularly sweet with what Tyler does and how two high school lovers, who just needed time apart to get their lives sorted, came back together after still feeling the same way about each other that they had done ten years ago.

It’s a short read, but one where I couldn’t put it down. I’m going to finish this review with some appropriate songs that played during some of the scenes. I’m not lying when I say they actually came on my IPod during these scenes without my shuffling them to fit the mood.

First one: The first time they have sex – John Mayer – Your Body Is A Wonderland. Tots approps as Megan kept going on about Tyler’s physique and how muscular it now is.

Second: Blue – If You Come Back (Youtube if you don’t know the song). When Megan leaves after having sex the first time and misses the second morning get-together and Tyler asks Lisa if he’s done anything wrong to Megan

And lastly: Robert Miles – Children: The time they have sex in the locker room. This song plus that scene was pretty intense to me.

Listening to music whilst reading this book really did intensify the book and the words I was reading especially when songs that are apt to the scenes come on and make you feel so much more about that scene or character. All in all, I highly recommend this book and I shall definitely be downloading more Jade Jamison books.

I read this book as part of Jamison's Backstage Passion. LOVED it!!!

When Jamison is not writing bigger than life rock sagas...she excels at writing about things and people we know and love (sometimes hate) in our everyday lives.
Who the hell doesn't hate the back-stabbing bitch from high school...who looks at going to their high school reunion as anything BUT pure torture and who doesn't have that high school crush that got away? We ALL do damn it and this book is a glimpse into one woman's journey back in time (not literally) as she attends her 10 year reunion and comes face to face with her EX, who is now a big time rock star.
It is fresh and fun and sexy and at times so real...all the things that make a book cling to you and get into your heart. I sure remember showing up at MY 5 year reunion (20 pounds lighter and feeling hot) and wanting to hit on all those guys who never gave me a second look as a teenager. This book was a fast and very entertaining read and it always makes me happy when the characters, although faced with problems and adversaries (yes, I used the title word because it really fit the book)find a way to talk it out and don't go too long before they find out the truth behind the lies. Loved the ending too...thanks!

*****5***** wanna go back to the good old days stars =)

Tyler and Megan were a couple a decade earlier when she decides that they should break up before he goes on tour. Tyler has since become successful and she sees him in different media posts. She knows he was the love of her life, but thinks that he was just trying to let her down easy when he wanted to try long distance back then. Megan's BFF convinces her to attend their 10 year high school reunion. She convinces Megan to go under the guise that Tyler is not going to show up now that he's famous. Little does Megan know, but Tyler does intend to go to the reunion and it for the sole purpose of seeing her. Once she sees him again, she realizes that the spark is still there. Megan, as usual, tries to justify her pushing him away again. Tyler, now grown up and fully aware of what he wants, is not going to be so easy to go away this time. To see what happens, you will need to read the book.

I have come to love Jade Jamison books and this was no different. Megan and Tyler are one of my favorite couples (who wouldn't love a guy that shows up at your book club...prepared). MADversary is a quick, fun read that I would recommend you give a try. I really liked reading about the reunion. It reminded me of going to mine. There is always drama and hookups that people regret later but there always seems to be that one romance that blooms out of it and lasts. I love that possibility!!

I enjoyed this one. I love Jade Jamison's writing so for me it seems familiar and flows easy. The story is cute, old flames reunite at their high school reunion, and one is now a big rock star. There were times I wanted to slap Meg for her ridiculous insecurities and gullibility. But over all it was a quick, fun and steamy read that I enjoyed very much. I love this author and look forward to more from her!

I thought this was just ok. I didn't really feel anything for the character, I didn't really get any chemistry between Tyler and Megan. I felt like there was no story there between the two, especially considering they had a history it should have felt more but it just didn't.

I’m not crying; I have dust in my eyes. I’m always a sucker for a second-chance romance and this one does not disappoint. Meg and Tyler loved one another in high school and drifted apart after graduation. As the story unfolds, we find out that she broke up with him right after Prom because he’d be going to CA to pursue his dream as a musician while she’d be going to school in Kansas on a scholarship.

Ten years later, Meg has a Master’s in Library Sciences and works as an assistant librarian in their small-town library while Tyler has achieved massive success as lead singer and guitarist of Madversary, a heavy metal band. They haven’t spoken in all that time, which to me, seems a bit silly, but I guess Meg felt that was the best way to get over him. Of course, she hasn’t. She’s still in love with him and compares every date to him and everyone else comes up short. She continues to try dating sites, “Even though searching through hundreds of men cut into my valuable reading time…” The story is told from Meg’s POV so we’re never really sure what Tyler is thinking, but we have a decent sense of how he feels.

One of my favorite things about this book was Meg’s voice. She is sarcastic, clever, and outrageous, and some of her thoughts made me laugh. I burst out laughing when she thought, “I was by no means a stalker but there were times where my browser history might have made me a suspect had Tyler ever turned up murdered or turned into a skin suit.”

Meg does not want to attend her ten-year high school reunion, but her best friend Lisa convinces her to go anyway. Her biggest hope/fear is that she’ll see Tyler. Her descriptions of her high school reunion made me thankful that I have never attended one of mine. I also suspect that there are people I won’t remember, based on perusal of my yearbook. She described her experience by explaining there were “a few people I hadn’t either loved or hated had probably dropped out of y memory bank in a use-it-or-lose-it fashion. F—. I did not want to be here, forced to remember and make nice.”

The snark continues with observations like this: “That was the last thing I should do—which was probably why I agreed.” And this one also made me giggle: “Oh, the inner snark was fighting to jump out as if she’d been invited to a cage match…” And when deciding whether to do something because she might be slightly intoxicated, she decides she “would have made the same stupid decision stone-cold sober…”

I think she may be my favorite character (translation: I’d like to be friends with her). I identified with Meg more than any other character in this collection. She was fairly level-headed and thought things through, up to a point. Unfortunately, she was so afraid of losing Tyler that she was willing to let him go before he could hurt her by leaving. It took her friend’s encouragement to make her consider that it was better to love and lose than never to try. Trite, but Meg needed to learn that lesson. I have to say, I couldn’t believe Meg fell for the lies of her arch-nemesis, Tamara. Seriously, why did she believe her when she knew Tamara would do anything to hurt her? That was the only flaw in the story.

Great Second Chance Romance

Like many of us, Megan Walker does not want to attend her 10 year highschool reunion. There is not going to be anyone there that she wants to reconnect with plus there is always a chance that Tyler Green, her ex-boyfriend, who is now a rockstar, will attend and she especially does not want to reconnect with him. Her best friend drags her to the reunion. When Tyler turns up things get steamy and complicated. Megan realizes she has never gotten over him and moved on. This is an excellent story with lots of twists and sideline drama. Jade C. Jamison does an excellent job of portraying the characters and telling the story.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.

I thought this was a cute little second chance romance.
Tyler and Meg dated in high school. Tyler starting moving forward in his music career and then life just happened. When it’s time for the high school reunion and they see each other again all bets are off.
I’m giving this book 4 stars only because it was really short for my liking.
Without giving away spoilers I’ll just say..
Also the Meg and Tamara thing was just unrealistic on Megs part. I don’t know how she didn’t just find out more and just assumed. That really bothered me.

But over all it was a cute read.

Well, Megan and Tyler didn’t waste time getting hot and heavy with each other. There’s a problem though, an ex of Tyler (who was their classmate) lying that her son was Tyler’s. Tyler denied and explained to Megan that this was not new. She believed him and then didn’t.🙄 That was a stupid twist. She later got her prove and Tyler moved back to their hometown to be with the love of his life. Swoon….

Title: MADversary
Series: not a series
Category /Genre: NA Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Received from: Jade C. Jamison in exchange for an honest review
Grammar/editing: A – near perfect

Megan is an introvert and assistant librarian at the Winchester Public Library. It has been ten years since high school graduation and her best friend, Lisa, is cajoling her to attend. Megan doesn’t want to run into her high school sweetheart, a boy she never got over and is now the lead singer for the popular heavy-metal band MADversary. When she gives in, her greatest fear is realized, sparks fly, and Meg is afraid of being left behind once again.
I loved this story. It was hot… as in melt-your-panties hot…with a lot of sweet. Tyler is a rock God with a heart of gold. His sensitive side makes him swoon-worthy, but he also knows how to rock the sheets.

I completely “get” Megan. I, too, am very introverted and hate loud and crowds although I will brave them for something I really want (like the right kind of music). We prefer the company of books over most people. We share the feelings of “what if” of a high school boyfriend. We share a fear of being alone and the fear of choosing so poorly that we would rather be alone. We are romantics with a side of skeptic. We are the hopeless, hopeful romantics who pray that we are wrong and not all men are the same.

This story is all about the second chance at a love that had never died. What happens when you get that opportunity to reunite with the man who has held your heart? He is the man against whom all other men have been compared for ten years. Do you take a chance, even when you think it’s just a weekend lust down memory lane?

Jade Jamison is observant. She knows people and it shows in her writing. This story had me sucked in from page one and I didn’t want to let go until I was done.

I liked it, it was a bit slow in places. But overall it was a great story about second chances! It ultimately comes down to trust more then anything in this story! Whether or not the two MC's have enough trust not only in themselves to make the correct decisions but also in each other!

Megan ~ Mmmm, she was sure of herself but at the same time she wasn't. Which lead her to be unsure of Tyler in the end. She was quick to believe everyone else over him without actually ever asking him for his side of the story.

Tyler ~ He knew what he wanted and he went for it, and didn't let anything or anyone stop him. Unfortunately he was a victim of being used over a period of years and because he didn't tell Megan he ended up losing her for years and then again almost when they finally rekindled!

Overall its a good story , and I wouldn't mind reading more on them or other characters!

Till next time ~ Sweets Books

Another HEA!

Yes, one more HEA that is satisfying in a swoon worthy way. It makes you believe that rock stars are ordinary people like the rest of us with the same problems and heartaches. Megan and Tyler were high school sweethearts until she ripped his heart out.

As always, Jade has given us a memorable story. This was a re-read for me as I read it when published as Madversary. I hope I haven’t read book 4 as a previous publication!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to attend your 10 year reunion ? What it would be like to see your ex-boyfriend ? The one that got away ? For Megan Walker she is dreading about attending her reunion due to one person in particular - singer Tyler Green , her old boyfriend who left to become famous and now plays in the Heavy Metal Band MADversary. MADversary was a short but sweet novel where we all can guess the plotline of two old lovers reuniting and then of course compromising in order to live happily ever after for now anyway. Like most of Jade C. Jamison's books, MADversary is only a few chapters long and the perfect read if you love rock n roll romances and is wanting a quick lunchtime bite or have an appointment and need to sit in the waiting room.

READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

This book freaking sucked! I can't believe I even finished it, but then again I do have issues with not finishing books.

The writing sucked; it didn't flow, the language was weird at times, the characters lacked depth and personality and the few sex scenes that did take place seemed forced with no connection.

The sad thing about this book is that the storyline had potential to really be good. It could have gone somewhere.

Total flop and wish I could sell the damn ebook back. UGH

MIND BLOWING!! well written rock star romance!! cleverly written, fabulous characters, you just dont want to put the book down from start to finish. I am really pleased with the way the story panned out and what a lovely ending. What would have completed that book was if there had been an epilogue concluding events that happened further down the line. Its a shame that only 1 book was wrote based on these characters, another one would have been AWESOME!! overall its fun, entertaining and heart-warming read and I highly recommend it.

Good read. Megan doesn't want to chance running into her high school sweetheart/the one that got away at her reunion. Thanks to her BFF - she ends up going hoping he won't show. But he turns up anyway trying to get her back.
Challenges arise; her inner monologue (let’s be honest we all ruin things with thinking sometimes) and crazy ex that is determined to keep Tyler and Megan from reuniting.

A good story and a happy ever after.

This is a cute, fast paced love story about possible second chances. The storyline moves smoothly and the characters are well detailed and very believable. Megan and Tyler were in a relationship in high school but different life paths separated them, until the ten year reunion. Can you love be rekindled after so many years and totally different life styles? A reall enjoyable read you shouldn't miss.

I bought MADversary because I "heart" rockstars and rockstar books. I absolutely LOVED the Tangled Web series, so I knew this book would not disappoint... and boy was I right! I really liked the "The one that got away" aspect of the book and it was fun watching Megan and Tyler reconnect and fall in love all over again. Jade C. Jamison has definitely earned herself a fan for life!

This is one of my 4 star books. It wasn't that it wasn't good, it just didn't leave me feeling let down when I finished it. There have been some rockstar romance books that I have read lately that have you on the rollercoaster ride that the main characters are on. Do I regret reading it...no otherwise I would not have given it 4 stars. I am looking forward to starting a new book though.

Megan is persuaded by her best friend to attend their 10 year high school reunion. The one person Megan doesn't want to see is her ex boyfriend Tyler, they'd drifted apart when she'd gone to college and Tyler followed his musical dreams. Their paths cross and suddenly things aren't as black and white and any more.

A brilliant quick read.
