Dawn H. Hawkes was born in the beautiful country of Norway. Having been buried in fairy-tales from the moment she knew what one was, it has always had a special place in her heart. With a strong belief that there is someone out there for everyone and it's just a matter of finding that special someone, she's incorporated this into her stories.

She's a fan of almost anything mythological and thinks there's nothing sexier than a man going against the stereotype of his kind, vampires and shapeshifters alike, particularly if he growls or has a mighty roar.

She really hopes to inspire people around her, to have them take part in her own little world inside of her own busy little mind.

I just read through the four books in this series over the last few days. I think I liked this one the best because it was a menage, a alpha wolf and some double penetration. lol It is an enjoyable shifter series.

Update: December 22, 2018
I've been rereading this series so as to re-familiarize myself with the characters and storyline so I can finally read book 5. After reading my original review, I can say I feel NO INCLINATION to reread this particular book. I'm really not sure, reading my comments why my original rating was a 4..

Up to this point, All dealings with Casey portray him as a sweet mate. In this book, we learn that Zane as an Alpha male, either has an alpha mate or 2 more submissive mates. Though Casey has been aware of this he still has extreme difficulty dealing with it. This was a turn off to the story line in my opinion. Casey being scared and confused having to deal with a new mate, when he finally got to be claimed by Zane.. understandable. But he actually comes across very cold to Kett and doesn't seem to warm up to him in a fast way at all. Seeing as all three are mates, Casey should have felt.. something.. towards Kett even if it made him uncomfortable. No major complaints other than that.

On the minor, Casey barely (still) able to use any of his powers. I would think possible mating would open those up but this one doesn't go in that direction (a bit of a let down to me) Then cousin Danny.. is he or isn't he a bad guy? or more in the middle with a bit of both? Still need to get Zane's bro back and find Brass.. so more stories to follow?

Warning: DP scene at the end.

I really liked this book. It had been a while since I had read the others in the series, so I decided to re-read the first 3 books. I am glad I did as by doing this I was able to really understand and enjoy the wonderful characters and follow the overall story arc. It is best to read the whole series as the books do follow on from each other. I really enjoyed the fact that all the characters from the previous books continue to have a strong voice in each new book. I would recommend this series as a good one to curl up on the couch with and lazy away a afternoon. I am looking forward to reading the next one, I just hope that it doesn't take the author long to write it.

This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Zane and Casey have been prisoners in the vampire compound for a long time, they know they are mates but haven’t been allowed to bond, both of them know that there is a third mate out there somewhere, and when they finally escape they are shocked to find him almost straight away. Kett is surprised when his mate Zane claims him as soon as he sees him and is upset when Casey doesn’t seem to want anything to do with him, can Kett get Casey to warm up to him? Casey is upset when Kett comes into his mating with Zane, although they have been together for two years they have only been mated for two days and Casey doesn’t want a third mate taking Zane away from him, can Casey accept Kett as his mate as well?

This is definitely the story we have all been waiting for, Zane and Casey, prisoners who have appeared in all the Solomon’s Pride books helping the pride where they could. Zane and Casey finally escape from the vampire compound and Christa’s sick games, but they have to leave behind the rest of Zane’s pack and they promise to come back for them. Casey is unhappy when he meets Kett because even though he wants Zane’s happiness, he feels that he will be pushed aside, Zane is sure everything will be fine, he knows that if Casey just gives Kett a chance then all three of them will have a happy mating, Kett feels brushed off by Casey even though Casey is also his mate, Casey makes him feel that he is intruding on his mating. While the complications of the mating is going on the pride and council are making decisions about what to do with the vampire compound, and the council are taking their time over it.

So we have a complicated mating which is made harder because Casey is a warlock and doesn’t feel the mating pull, he wants time to get to know Kett but times short for a cat shifter. Both Zane and Kett have no problems with the mating but to ease Casey they try to hold off, which leaves Kett in pain. Just when they finally seem to be getting it all together they have to invade the compound and get a surprise they never expected. This is a frustrating story, in that you can’t understand why the council has been sitting on its thumbs while humans and shifters are being tortured. There’s plenty of hot sex and there is also a double penetration scene, there’s lots of variety to enjoy.

I must admit wanting Casey and Zane’s story for a long time, but I was left feeling slightly cheated in the end just because of the plot twist, did it really need to get even more complicated? Casey is a great character and you can so understand where he is coming from in his hesitation, but, you also resent him a little because we love Kett and you feel like he is being mean to Kett. Zane is the typical Alpha wolf, expecting everything to fall into place easily but he is also understanding of the situation and doesn’t push it, now Kett is such a sweetheart and you just want everything to be easy for him even when it’s not.

I will recommend this to those who love shifters, complex mating’s, danger, love, hot sex and a happy for now ending.

Well, i polished this one off over the holiday week end, and i wasnt sure when i started it if i would like it. I'm not big on menage books. I was pleasantly surprised with this installment-i liked all three characters. Casey was a little bratty but understandable considering the circumstances. Liked the book, happy with the series, hoping for book five to be published soon!
