They Would Have to Come to Hell to Find Me

Sarah Gordon Weathersby’s “Tell Them I Died” is a romantic adventure that takes readers out of the country several times. Angela and Bodine Beaudoin love to travel. As they should, they are happily retired. They regularly socialize online through a social networking site. Laura, known as her online name A1QTEE, started the dating group called Blaq-Kawfee. One evening, Angela receives a telephone call from AIQTEE’s son telling her that her beloved friend has died. Carlton, Laura’s son, tells Angela that Laura died in her sleep over a month ago. When Carlton asks for money, which she knows should not have been an issue for Laura, Angela becomes suspicious.

“Tell Them I Died” then turns into a mystery. It took me a minute to get into it, but once it picked up, it was a blast. The story development was great. The plot thickened and twisted, taking readers on a journey. I enjoyed this book. From looking at the book cover you could never tell that there was a love story that would evolve into a great mystery. Mental health tied up with social media is an issue that constantly needs to be addressed.

Loved the read! Once I started, I couldn't stop until the end. Since I'm barely on the fringe of social networking, I can't imagine developing a serious relationship, even platonic, with someone I've never met. However, I personally know folks who have taken that leap and are really happy. My loss, I guess, for not being a trusting person. The characters bring out the highs, lows and risks of relating online. I especially like the fact that Angela and Bodine are so grounded, no matter what's going on around them.

Really really good read! I hated Paulo Ochoa! When Bodine got shot I thought it was Paulo who did it and I had to read ahead to make sure Bodine wasn't dead. Love the idea of mature lovers having adventures. Great story!!

I really wanted to like this book. I personally fall in the target age group, etc... The premise of the story was very good and I kept hoping that it would develop. Instead the story just jumped around, conversations felt random, and characters didn't develop. Felt like there was a lot of potential that came up a bit short.
