This story had quite the shallow plot... There was not enough of the characters or the plot for the reader to get invested in. Maybe it's because the short length but that is no excuse for a story to suck lol.

Some will definitely enjoy this but I personally found it a bit shallow and lacking.


The sex was hot, though... So that's a thing...

Her Fantasy Men by Shayla Black is about a polyamory relationship amongst three men and the woman that they all love. Kelsey has three men in her life that she absolutely adores. Tucker is a friendship bore over a lifetime together through thick and thin, Rhys is the sexy as sin next door neighbor who happens to be a fireman, and Jeremy is the high powered dominant attorney who happens to be her boss. All of these men have something different to offer Kelsey and she can’t choose between any of them, so for many all the years of their relationship, she chose none of them. One day, things changed and it escalated until she had relations with all three men. The bumps in the road where hurdles at best and it would have been hard to overcome as all men were vastly different.

The issues were real, but Ms. Black did a beautiful job of weaving this story together and gave all of the characters distinct personalities and made the story more than just about sex, even though the sex scenes were hot. There were issues, but those issues were confronted and dealt with in a manner that wasn’t easy for any of the men. The men weren’t buddies and even after sharing Kelsey for an evening it didn’t give them a sense of comradery and didn’t make light of the fact that this kind of relationship wouldn’t be easy despite the fact that they all loved this woman. There weren’t any instantaneous bonds formed from the men but they had to work together to preserve their bond with Kelsey.

This is my first novel of Shayla Black and I’m happy to say that I found her execution of the story a delightful surprise. I hoped for the best outcome in this story but prepared for the worst that none of the men would get her because they were all vastly different, yet very possessive when it came to Kelsey, so to me that constitutes a good story as I was emotionally invested. 

This story is a solid 4 stars.

Overall a good story I enjoyed the characters and a bit of drama.
I do wish Kelsey had been I don’t know a little more firm and communicated exactly what she wanted at the beginning.

The men too could have talked a bit more to each other that might have made the story a little more interesting if we got to see their sides of things at the end.

Really enjoyed the narration Christian Fox is kinda awesome just saying.

I had this BDSM menage pending for quite a while. Since choices are more and more limited regarding Menages, I went to my wish to read list. Good choice.

This is a nice menage. Not completely BDSM. One relationship is D/s and I would not even qualify it as D/s but dominant. Spanking and cuffs and authoritarianism has never been an automatic qualification of being a Dom.

3 different personalities as it should in a menage à quatre. Nice heroine we can relate.

I missed depth with each relationship. It was sex individually and few explanations where the heroine stood and why she loved them but I didn’t feel enthralled by the story. Nice reading but soon forgotten.

I still had a good time though 😉

4/5 stars---I was looking for a specific set of skills and honey Shayla Black DELIVERED! The spice was evident from the beginning and did not dwindle down as the plot went on, which was greatly appreciated. The plot was definitely fantastical but that's not what I came for🤭 loved the MFMM dynamic and that fact that Kelsey got to live her BEST hot girl life. Looking forward to reading more from this author because she has the genre down to a science.

Her Fantasy Men follows Kelsey and her relationship with Reese, Tucker, and Jeremy. This book was just ehh...OK for me. It was more realistic than most RH plotlines. For example, how does this work? jealous of the other guys, etc.

It was a quick read, so that was a plus.

I picked this up because I just wanted something that would be a quick read and would hopefully have some interesting characters. I was in the middle of reading something that had neither.

These were....interesting characters all right. Of the three men, I obviously had my favorite. (Tucker.) But the plot was a little weirder than I thought it was going to be. Kelsey can't decide which of three amazing men she wants to be with and it just creates all this unnecessary drama. To a point, I understand her struggle. These guys all brought something different to the table. But you think other people don't deal with the same problem? Sometimes life throws at you more than one amazing guy at the same time and you have to chose. Kelsey's indecision was a bit off-putting.

As was the behavior of the men. With the recent attention in the news to sexual harassment and consent, I was keenly aware of the times the men crossed that line. One character says he doesn't use "silly safety words" and that "no means no", but then when Kelsey said no, he simply shushed her and told her everything was fine. UM. NO. THE LADY SAID NO. That was very off-putting for me. That character never recovered in my eyes.

I suppose I basically got what I bargained for. I've read enough Shayla Black stories to know what I'm getting into, but sometimes her writing bothers me.

Ahora dicho eso en general la trama tenia bastante potencial pero sinceramente la "heroina" deja bastante que desear, se la pasa llorando o escapando.

Acepto que es completamente refrescante leer un libro en que los hombres no están perfectamente de acuerdo en la relación en este libro se denotan inseguridades, sentimientos de posición, egoísmo y negación lo cual si han leido libros de 3 hombres y 1 mujer recordaran que es más que común que ellos este 100% seguros y de acuerdo en la relación, pues en este libro no y es refrescante.

I am very unhappy to say that this book was nothing but cringe.
I thought, among Rhys Tucker and Jeremy, the character I'll like the most will be Jeremy. But guess what...it was completely opposite.
First of all since Jeremy was an experienced dominant, he was supposed to be the one suggesting the sharing thing, as poly isn't a surprising concept in the bdsm world. Instead it was Rhys. Now I know I shouldn't complain about this because it can be anyone getting the idea, but my problem was Jeremy acting as if it's a completely new concept.

And how he speaks to her, I didn't like it at all. Treating her like an object, all his remarks sounded accusatory as hell in the whole damnn book.
He's one of those people who thinks being a dominant is all about giving orders and others listening to him as if nothing else matters at all. No matter what he said about trusting women and all, but that's how he acted in the whole book.

And the worst fact? Why was Jeremy accusing her that she didn't love him just cause she had sex with other two guys as well?
When Rhys said that he was hurt about her having sex with others as well, it made sense because she first had sex with Rhys.
My sweet boy Tucker knew he was having sex with her the last and thus didn't accuse her or say any remark at all.
But Jeremy? Fucking shit knew she had had sex with Rhys already. And he didn't listen to her when she mentioned that it'll be more complicated BECAUSE she has had sex with Rhys already. How could he act surprised when it was Tucker after him?
Completely illogical!

The other two boys were amazing. Both Rhys and Tucker had a sane and logical mind. They were ready to think and got angry at moments where they should have been.
But at the end Tucker suddenly acting as an experienced dom was kinda a no for me. I understand that the character went like Tucker didn't believe in bdsm and all but once when gave it a try he figured that he's interested in it. But I just simply didn't like the approach of how it turned out. He just stood up and suddenly became a full on dominant commanding everything including spanking her and all. And not some light spanking...a full on hand-print leaving behind spanking. *Sigh* Tucker was my favourite until this moment.

Rhys was the absolute favourite. He seemed genuine in all aspects. Honestly, I came here for reverse harem, but with how things were....I wouldn't have minded if she would have left Jeremy and had just stayed with Rhys and Tucker.

All in all the book was ok-ish. I skipped all the smut after the first foursome with a lightning speed. It was just so cringe that I couldn't read it anymore especially the Jeremy part.

On the way to start some other good enough books.
Maybe this book isn't as bad as I have portrayed above, but I didn't like Jeremy at all. Still glad that they all ended up together at the end.

Queste le parole dell’autrice: “Cosa succederebbe se una ragazza avesse tre grandi amici – un vicino tuttofare, un capo che la sostiene e un compagno di infanzia – e fosse segretamente attratta da tutti e tre? E se loro stessero tramando ognuno per sedurla e conquistare il suo cuore?
Devo dire di non essere sicura della sensazione che questo libro mi ha trasmesso. Si tratta di una classica trama: ragazzo incontra ragazza, si innamorano e vivono felici e contenti. Solo che qui la ragazza è una (Kelsey) e i ragazzi sono tre (Rhys, Tucker e Jeremy). Ecco, questa è la particolarità, e ciò che, tutto sommato, rende diverso questo libro che altrimenti sarebbe stato un erotico, ben scritto per carità, ma piuttosto scontato. La questione è che questa trovata è sì interessante, ma secondo me poco ragionata: nonostante possa essere verosimile che una ragazza sia attratta da diversi tipi di uomini, i tre ragazzi non potrebbero essere più diversi tra loro (un vigile del fuoco palestrato, un avvocato con tendenze da Dom e un bravo ragazzo texano). La cosa che non mi torna, e mi ha lasciato un po’ di dubbio, è che Kelsey passa da cinque anni di castità, perché è una ragazza seria che si concede solo se innamorata, al concedersi a tre ragazzi nella stessa settimana! E qui mi fermo per non spoilerare la scena più caliente!
A parte questo mio dubbio, che può sicuramente dipendere dal fatto che nelle persone amo l’essere sempre super-coerenti, il libro è ben scritto, si lascia leggere facilmente e, per coloro che amano gli erotici, presenta scene di sesso ben descritte e piuttosto hot!
In conclusione, Shayla Black in questo libro tre stelline le merita tutte, per avermi fatto passare un paio di giorni spensierati, insieme a tre ragazzi che molte di noi sicuramente sognano!

I don't know how we as a reader are expected to believe this plot would actually happen.

Imagine the most far fetched movie you have ever watched something like Encanto where all this whole village has super skills that are genuinely a thing but so far fetched and then move that forward by another 20 thousand steps and you might teeter on how unrealistic and utterly far fetched this story line is

A really short novella by a new author I haven't tried before was a dip my toes into the skills of this author and I am not sure if I should ever enter these waters again.

Imagine if you will 3 men, all very different, all having a "friendship" with a female on various terms.
Number 1) is the female's boss and a male dominant
Number 2) is the long term male best friend from childhood and actually he is quite placid and wants to move past the friendship zone
Number 3) is a handyman who came did some jobs and forged a friendship. I don't really retain much about this character

ALL THREE are madly in love with the female character and all three happen to know each other. All three openly talk about the females sexual life and investigate why she never has a man around and why she is visibly masterbating in plain view! Yes it's this bizarre and wait for it one by one they all sleep with the female within a week of each other, all three propose and all three want her to themselves

I mean come on! Not content with this story line all three men are utterly devastated when the female decides she loves them all and can't choose one so she has to move! She somehow then ends up in a threesome! She somehow her dominant boss is suddenly so in love he is willing to share her to keep her in his life!
This drivel continues and continues and continues! The end!

This story, MFMM is PURE FANTASY!!! Plus HEA. What's NOT to love about that? If you LOVE reverse harem, this is for you!

Kelsey- our leading lady, I envy you, knowing you want the cake (x three) and eating it too! *fans self* Curvaceous and confident! But can she get it?

Our three leading guys:

Tucker- long term childhood BFF and confidant. Has secretly loved Kels like, forever. Gentle Giant and Staunch Protector! Has a supersized surprise package that we never saw coming (pardon the pun)... *just breathe*

Rhys- the fireman-next-door we've all wished for. Rugged & adventurous. He's the action hero with just enough gentleness to be totally endearing. He's up for anything, in or out of the bedroom. *melts*

Jeremy- the Boss. High-powered lawyer. Actively BDSM and so, so Dominant. He can melt your panties off with one hard stare at fifty paces. That will be Sir! to you and you had better not forget it!!! *gasps*

Seriously though, I was NOT kidding when I started this review with PURE FANTASY. If you want to escape the dullness of the everyday, then jump in here. It's a roller coaster from start to finish that will leave you, well, I'll let you use your imagination for that... I loved it!

It's a stand alone, so you will feel so very satisfied when you're done reading. So much so, that you'll likely mark this as read again. I know I have!

Now this is what you call a sizzling, spice filled ride that's freaking scrumptious but also with the drizzle of the perfect amount of emotions that gets you invested even into an unusual relationship equation that we get to see with Kelsey and her men.

The audiobook narrator was great for this book and I had fun just having primarily the male pov from different sides.

We have the boss, the neighbor and the best friend all of them who want the one girl they feel they can't have.

Jeremy is the dominant one and I have to confess, if it were up to me to choose, It would definitely be Jeremy because of how in control he is and the way he's so calm and quiet and yet has an on fire aura about him.
But honestly Reece and Tucker would also equally compete for my attention. Ughhh.. I get it now why it was so difficult for poor Kelsey to choose. But thankfully she doesn't have to. 😉

Kelsey on the other hand, has this fantasy of having them all and I get why it was confusing for her to have these feelings when she thought it was not possible for it to be a reality.

I have to tell you THE FREAKING SPICE IS SO FREAKING HOTTTT... I mean they all get one on one time with Kelsey but them all freaking together... OH MY... 🥵🥵🔥🔥🌶️🌶️.

I thought I would like this more than I did. I love reverse harem. I was excited at the beginning thinking this was a different dynamic than most. (Most are either the men are strangers or they’re guys who have shred in the past.) Here the guys are friends and saying if I can’t have her one of you should. That dynamic quickly changes.

I also didn’t love the heroine. To me she had classic “I’m not like other girls, I’m better” energy. Plus I’m kind of over heroines moving to other states after one argument. Moving to another state is expensive.

It’s a quick steamy read. She has one on one scenes with each guy plus group scenes. It’s all steam, no plot outside of their drama (nothing wrong with all steam. I’m on board with it.). It’s a light read; nothing scary dark or suspenseful. I actually picked it up to be a light break in a dark romance I was reading. It was.

Unplanned pregnancy at end of novel.

Kelsey has been perfectly content in her life. She has a fantastic job with an extremely good looking boss. She has a beautiful house with a sexy neighbor that will help her with minor problems if she only asks. She has a perfect best friend who is always there for her and is also easy on the eyes. Everything was fine until the three fantasy men in her life start asking her questions and pushing her boundaries.
Well there isn’t much to this story outside of the relationships between Kelsey and her three men.
Without a lot of filler stuff going on, the story is both short and super spicy. I would say that over half of this story is spice. I wish that Black had given us a bit more plot, possibly someone to be the bad guy other than one of the men.

R- This is a spicy why choose romance that while it has a happy ending, doesn’t go into great details how this whole relationship will work in the long run. There is some language as well.

If you are looking for a spicy listen then look no further. This was definitely a spicy book. There was a solid storyline to keep you captivated aside all the spice. Her fantasy men all had different attributes to satisfy her every need and desire. Christian is amazing and even though this is an older recording I am super excited that he is making a comeback to the audiobook world. He always does a fantastic job at capturing the emotions of his characters.

This was a good story. I liked the characters.
What I didn't like was that Tucker, Rhys and Jeremy were only thinking about themselves for awhile. How they themselves could make Kelsey happy, instead of what she needed to be happy. I really wanted to punch her men for awhile. Once they pulled their heads out of their butts, I liked them more.

This story just bored me to death. I listened to it on Scribd & somehow finished it while making dinner. I love Shayla Black’s novels. I find it hard to believe that she wrote this. The three sex scenes near the beginning were a snooze. It kind of picked up at the end, but all in all it was a dud.

I really liked the premise but it was poorly executed. Because of how short the story is it felt rushed. It was missing something for me. The smut was just alright too. It was weird how the guys each asked her to marry them so quickly too. And they got super immature and really impatient and pushy and entitled with her. They were acting like giant babies.

I'm not sure how this has such a high rating. Lack of communication and preparation for kink is not erotic.

Also v repetitive messaging from the mfc without expanding/nuance or acting as a person with agency (even during the hard work) in the relationship. Maybe her personality, but also not a great strength when establishing a safe emotional and physical space with multiple partners.

Three men lusting and loving after one woman, she's been fantasizing about them all. Watching these guys come together isn't easy on anyone. I think I would have liked with more time to the story and situation.
