Each poem I read (past tense? present?) feels like giving birth to meaning: labour-intensive but productive.

One feels to be a participant in the creative force.

Also, are you ever finished reading a book of poems?

Tomorrow, this book will be here (though its philosopher-author is not) and his words ready, again, to hatch new meaning-lives.

Never has reading poetry felt so death-defying.
