September, After Everything
My name is Kelsey Browning. I’m 16. I live in a teeny town called Blossom, with my grandma, Kate, in her cozy little house on Willow Street SW.
I grew up here, across the street from my best friend Porter. My partner-in-crime, Annabelle lives here too, most of the time. Truthfully, Annabelle comes and goes, but not by choice. Her mom is a little bit jumpy.
Ginger is my mother, except I just met her a few years back. Shortly after, she moved in with Grandma Kate and me. About nine months later, she gave birth to my little brother, Chucky. No, the name isn’t a coincidence. He’s tiny, devilish and usually up to no good.
Ginger is jumpy like Annabelle’s mom. She married Doug, but they don’t get along so well lately. Now she’s bouncing back to Grandma Kate’s house at the speed of light.
Porter’s mom said this summer was going to be the best one of our lives. I’m not sure about “best”, but it’s definitely been a memorable one.
Christian Gables and I started out on an adventure. Cindy and Porter crashed. The series of events that followed weren’t exactly my fondest adolescent memories…
