5 Stars because it was amazing. Amazingly bland, sure. Amazingly stupid, of course. But still amazing. I reviewed it chapter by chapter at my Blog, http://www.deanaanderson.blogspot.com... in late Sept. and early October.
Almost so bad that it was good, but not quite. Sample sentence: "Mr. Peterson had put on some high-fi music that added to the enjoyment of the dinner."
I used to devour these when I was eight, so I had to pick this one up when I saw it at a library sale. It wasn't great, but it was actually a lot better than I expected. The character's voices were on-target, and the mystery was interesting, though painfully obvious from the start. The characters should have figured it out long before they did. Of course, it was dated -- a reference to listening to music on the hi-fi was especially amusing.
