Very small adventure.. It finished to quickly ... but it was so lovely

I don’t know why they made Frankenstein so hot in this, but I’m not complaining!! Also: I desperately need his hair care routine (those long blond locks are too beautiful).
I gave Noblesse a read simply because I liked the cover (as usual). The art style is great—reminiscent of your typical DC/superhero comics—but the actual plot felt mashed together in a weird way that didn’t hook me at all. Besides Rai’s mysterious origin, the rest of the plot following vampire attacks and a misfit bunch of high schoolers felt kind of uninteresting; these concepts have been done before, and done much better. Not a terrible read, just not a standout in its genre.

What an amazing ride Noblesse has been. I've stumbled upon this manhwa in late 2015 while reading Tower of God. I was intrigued because people usually mentioned these two manhwas in each other's comment section because of how great these are. I'm actually grateful for those people because Noblesse has given me some of the best adventures and lessons in life.
So, THANK YOU, Son Jaeho and Lee Kwangsoo, for putting out such a great piece of art and for updating on a regular basis. I was surprised that this manhwa has been going on for such a long time (11 years as stated in the epilogue). I'm forever grateful for always putting out a lengthy episode every week with great art and color detail, all for free!
One of the strengths of Noblesse is the character growth. And I mean, all of them do grow and develop into strong, independent, morally upright characters who fight against evil and protect the ones they love. Ugh, I have so much love for the kids, RK, Lukedonia, the werewolves, Frankie, and Rai!
Lastly, always a favorite: Kneel. This is where your eyes meet mine.
Cadis Etrama Di Raizel, noblesse, whose love and sacrifice for the kids and the school and the human population have ripped my heart. I hope you never go into eternal slumber. And please, live and enjoy the life you've barely managed to get a hold of. ♡
I have a lot of feels for this manhwa and every character has gotten hold of my heart and I think I will hold them close even as the years go by. (Still, I think that epilogue needs a successor because what. a. cliffhanger.)

Noblesse is a full colour Korean Manhwa [akin to Japanese manga] currently rated at the top on most popular manga sites. Although it starts off just okay, Rai and his friends have a tendency to grow on you with each volume!
The Noblesse, Cadis Etrama Di Raizel, or Rai as his friends call him, awakens in an empty building after a deep sleep of 820 years. He has no knowledge of the advancements humans have achieved in science and technology in all this time. And it is quite interesting and amusing to watch him react with his cool 'elegance' to the unfamiliar lifestyle of a modern day city.
Rai, while trying to familiarize himself with this era, magically disguises himself in clothes similar to those he sees the people in the street wearing. He then ends up at a South Korean high school, Ye Ran, the principal of which turns out to be a loyal servant of his, the pretty Frankenstein who is surprised to see him at first but then offers him tea! If all school principles were like this:
Rai decides that this high school would be the perfect place to help him learn about this new world. He enrolls as a student and starts to make friends, the first one being Shinwoo, a brash, loud, lazy, immature teenager but who is also an amazing martial artist and can kick vampire ass, [though without actually knowing it was a vampire]:
What exactly is a Noblesse, where do vampires come from, why was Rai asleep for so long, and who is trying to find the coffin he woke up in, what is the secret of Rai and Frankenstein's powers, all these questions and more are gradually revealed as the story progresses throughout the [so far sixteen] volumes. While the plot gets complex with each addition, what remains constant is that there is a lot of action, lots of handsome bishies whose shirts end up getting mysteriously torn in every fight, moments of seriousness interspersed with fun, and we see Rai drinking a lot of tea and waiting for his noodles to grow!

This Korean Mangaka has a really polished style. I keep laughing out loud. Rai is such an utter badass in the hellsing alucaridan way, but what makes him stand out is how much of a dumbass he is. Sure, sure, he's been asleep for almost 900 years, he doesn't have any cultural or technological awareness, but it's so totally cool to see the suspense rise, the subtleties and nuances surrounding the next great revelations build up, only to be dashed by some monumentally dumb event. I mean, seriously, this is some really low-brow humor, but it is executed so brilliantly that I've been laughing non-stop.
It's not just humor, though. It has a fairly decent stream of fighting and monsters and levelling up, but more importantly, the art is really great.
That being said, the names are stupid and the plot is extremely simple, but I'm more than happy to ignore all that because everything else just glows. It speaks to my fairly robust knowledge of other mangas, draws out standard tropes in a very familiar way, and then sets me up perfectly every time for a knockout punch. Every frame is coloured perfectly, simple to the point of minimalism, distilling every storytelling idea down to the barest essence. Such a pure expression is a real joy, especially when we've got bananas and whirlwinds of blood.
Do I recommend this to everyone? Hell yes, it's funny as shit and an extremely quick read. I'm almost giddy with the flow.
Expect perfect straight men (or monsters) in perfectly normal situations being stymied by everyday things while maintaining an air omnipotent presence and power. The juxtaposition is absolutely perfect.

Are you looking for mildly nonsensical vampire action wherein a powerful paranormal Noble awakens after an 800 year slumber and immediately enrolls in a South Korean high school? Do you enjoy characters with the slimmest of motives doing ridiculous things? Would you like to see the world's hottest version of Dr. Frankenstein? (Or Frankenstein's monster? I'm actually not sure. He may also just be a dude named Frankenstein.) If those are things you're keen on, then this is the book for you - it's insane, ridiculous, and I read the whole thing in about forty-five minutes despite not necessarily enjoying it, and I will absolutely pick up volume two if the library gets it. It's not great literature or even a particularly good webtoon, but it is a way to shut your brain off for a little while, and sometimes that's all you need a book to be.

I love the art in this! The story also got me addicted but unfortunately, I didn't develop a relationship with the characters and didn't find myself caring that much about what would happen to them, only how the plot would be unfolded.

I am very interested to see how this series plays out. I knew little to no information about Noblesse before picking it up, but I do love WebToons, so it was a no brainer.
It gives me very Underworld (movie series) meets Bleach (manga & anime) and I loved that a lot!

Un début sympa même si on ne s’attache pas trop aux personnages dans ce premier volume. L’histoire est assez classique : vampire qui reviennent dans le monde des humains et perpétuent des chasses dans le but de retrouver l’immortel Raizel. Les graphismes sont sympathiques mais je n’ai pas eu de coup de cœur pour les planches couleurs. Une lecture sympa mais sans plus pour moi.

well, i always thought no one would make a fictional character that stronger then the Dracula itself. man!, but guess what, this character is related to Dracula somehow, Not really even higher level then Dracula, Dracula would be the kind that betrayed their kind, that humans think the one that they have seen is the only one that ever existed, and the vampires are the one's that are infected and using by the betrayed one's. oh my!. to much information been revealed bySon Jae Hothe Arthur of this books.
man!, i seen this series millions times roaming the net, people mention it all the time, i said what's all the fuss about till i read it, i didn't expect i would enjoy it this much, not just enjoying it, i was thinking when i would ever had chance to ask Frankenstein to let me join the family, the pack wolf, the noblesse pack, just hearing the name noble is freaking terrifying but tons of nobles strolling in the cities , but who expected there would be ones that calls Noblesse.

LoL i'm kidding we all know that's impossible, but its kind of freaky scary, the only reason i don't worry about his death is he's the main character if he goes down the series ends with his death, i hope that never happens, but this season was intensive as ever. to much actions, Frankenstein he's bad as ever, even now training a nobles, but i was wondering when Son Jae Ho would mention Frankenstein background, how he doing all this staff who's he, how did he started all this, maybe Son would mention his background the upcoming seasons, maybe not..

Noblesse started in the year 2007. That's when I was born-🗿 anyways.
I have an unhealthy obsession with Eleceed so while I was waiting for the updates, I thought why not check out another comic by the author Son Jeho.
AND YES. THAT'S HOW IT ALL STARTED SOB
Cadis Etrama Di Raizel. This man oh my god this guy. I love him. His existence itself is a blessing (literally)
I really like sophisticated characters with quote worthy dialogues. Cadis is one of them.
Despite having Godly power, Rai wasn't arrogant. Neither he boasted about it. The way he walks, sits, looks or even eats- as Regis would say, he's the defination of elegance.
"Kneel. This is where your eyes meet mine."
"You no longer deserve to speak my name."
"Time is not our ally, I am afraid."
There are so so many other lines which were remarkable but I forgot since 545 chapters isn't a small number.
There are many characters I wanna talk about like Frankenstein, M-21, Tao, Takio, Seira, Rael, Regis, Lascrea/Raskreia, Ludis, Lazark, Lunark etc etc etc but it would make this an essay.
Jeho explained it's hard even for him to decide an ending for such a masterpiece so he went for an open ending. To be honest, it's all in your imagination what you would like to make out of it. The last episode, I mean. For me, I'd probably prefer a tragedy. That way, it would be less unrealistic. But in a world of Nobles and Werewolves, I shouldn't be talking about realistic shit in the first place. Also, I wanted Crombel to meet The Noblesse.
It's painful to even think about that I no longer have any more chapters to read.
There are so many unsolved mysteries yet to unravel. Noblesse felt like a large circle. Everything ended up being tangled to the start. As if all the conflicts in the middle were good for nothing.
Overall, I loved it. So much. I'd probably start watching the anime as well.
But yes, the authors did a great job.

Thank you NetGalley and WEBTOON Unscrolled for the opportunity to read this arc copy of Noblesse.
I found Noblesse as a movie years ago on Crunchyroll. It was gorgeous and fun. When I found out that they were making a new anime series I was excited. Now the webtoon is coming out in English and I am ecstatic!
These full color panels are asymmetrical, which threw me off. The dialogue bubbles sometimes got confused. It wasn’t bad but it took a minute to get used to it. The coloring and art are clean and beautiful rendered.
This is about a Noblesse that had been lost and sleeping for 820 years before waking. Luckily he has found one of his subordinates that can help him move through this strange world. He finds kids as friends, but soon has to protect them from creatures out for their lives.
Since I’ve watched a few episodes of the anime series, I can say the series follow the manhwa accurately at least when it comes to this volume. This book makes me want to rewatch the original movie and finish the tv series!
I can’t wait for the next volume because I’ve always liked the man against world and the time traveler in the future tropes.

In which I was lost but now am found.
I just now discovered that I can add WEBTOONs to my goodreads shelves. MIND BLOWN 🤯 Gosh I’m soooo excited. I read webtoons daily, so much that I even get updates from the WEBTOON app on my phone. I wasn’t sure if i could add webtoons seeing that the books take place primarily on an internet domain. But now that I am aware...lookout because I’m going to start uploading all my current reads. (Insert Evil Laugh only to choke on morning coffee) Anyway, I’m so happy that I can finally start adding my broad reading collection.
I have been reading this series for 5 years, and I’m sad to say it’s finished. I’m a tad disappointed at the conclusion for the end of the arc, nevertheless it was a fun ride. The drawing was exquisite and intricate, the plot although repetitive at times, retained my interest for years. I’ll miss Rai, he was such a sweetheart, and I’ll miss all the noble vampires, and experiments. I’ll especially miss Frankenstein, he was so hilarious.

I can’t believe this is getting published finally. I think I’ve read this 3-4x online when it was ongoing. Anyways for anyone interested, it starts slow but the plot thickens later.

it's been over fifteen years since I read this very early pioneer series that put Korean webtoons on the to read list for the entire world.
I do think it struggles with a very long setup (like most cast growing comedies) but I know how funny it gets and how much the art improves, so I'm here to read it to the end with this physical publication.
The paper they chose has a very grainy texture which I don't think does this art style justice, now or later. Maybe I'll change my mind.

Nice classic storyline of an immortal guy out of place in modern times. Very lovable and cute characters, all of them with 1 braincell each . Fun bad guys with even less brain power. The typical well placed humour of a Korean webtoon. Overall a really good time !

The first manhwa read it and I really hope it does not end because I enjoy it in every season so I think I am the first to watch it when they convert it to anime (*≧∀≦*)

Да, предыдущий (5-ый) сезон манхве уже не перепрыгнуть. Тайну-загадку, что держала на крючке (прошлое Франкена), феерически раскрыли. Флэшбеки на ура прочертили дорожки к нынешним событиям и взаимоотношениям. Врагов пораскидало почем зря. Появилась очередная неуравновешенная тетка, у которой ЧСВ заменяет логику, а новый антагонист со своей агрессивной амнезией выглядит немножко глуповато. Годные пацаны проявляют минимум девелопмента, и присутствуют больше для красоты, чем для раскрытия истории. А Рейзел окончательно размяк, прямо как его любимый рамён.
Когда столетия напролет пялишься в окно и общаешься с людьми раз в 10 лет - наверное, крышечка начинает потихоньку слетать, так что начинаешь находить удовольствие в странных вещах, которые простые смертные не ценят. Это по-своему умилительно. Но его склонность к самопожертвованию говорит об ограниченности (серьезно, использовать одну и ту же тактику на протяжении 300+ глав? one trick pony…). И как-то оказывается, что протагонист - это вовсе не мудрое существо, а плывущее по реке бревно, которое покорно прибивается к разным берегам, время от времени жертвуя собой ради новообретенных друзей/человечества/дворянства/мира во всем мире?
Из хорошего: юмор достигает новых вершин :D Предыдущий Лорд - мой любимый персонаж (даром что появляется редко, но метко), этот дядька просто кладезь укурочности~ Объединить этого блондинчика с Кариасом - получается убийственный тандем :)
Сейчас, когда основные силы давно выведены на поле (и здорово прорежены усилиями бравых бисёненов), раскрутиться на новую историю и правда сложновато. But no worries. Если сюжет и проявляет повторяемость, то выстреливающие в самый драматичный и напряженный момент шутки лишний раз напоминают, для чего вся манхва задумана :D

Ненавижу, когда персонажа выпиливают на протяжении нескольких глав. Намеренно пролонгированное страдание. Хочешь прикончить одного из самых достойных персонажей - подари ему дост��йную смерть. Но надо отдать должное, подведено к этому событию все идеально, чтобы побольнее, все флэшбеки овер-душевные. И что делает потерю совсем грустной: это был единственный персонаж, что смог преодолеть свой потолок, хотя все начальные условия твердили о его неполноценности.
Кажется, Noblesse повзрослели и научились делать больно :с
В остальном я немножко теряюсь. Слишком много персонажей, за которыми следить не очень интересно. Всех врагов опять выпиливают в течение одного-двух сезонов. Рей все такой же всесильный. Франкен и остальные выдают непомерно малую дозу троллинга. Душевные метания сильных мира сего сводятся к неспособности оставить своих подчиненных в беде, хотя инстинкт самосохранения орет “беги-спасайся”. Несколько десятков глав длится битва, а главные герои все это время летят к месту заварушки (это смешно только до определенного момента). Про школяров почти забыли (они теперь как фон для ГМГГ *грустных мыслей главного героя). РК-4 практически не дают о себе знать. Раэль :с Да, Раэль прекрасен в своем горе и отрицании, и неожиданной силе духа.
А еще я внезапно добралась до статуса онгоинга. Нервов не хватит читать по главе в неделю (особенно если герои будут с такой же скоростью “спешить” на подмогу :d).

Rai is quick to find himself immersed inside Ye Ran High School. A man of a few words, he's assigned to an unlikely group of friends that watch over the "new foreign exchange student." But he's in luck, the chairman of this school just so happens to be Frankenstein, a loyal servant waiting for the day his Master would wake up. Frankenstein and Rai embark on an adventure of finetuning Rai to the modern world. However, something is amiss in this busy city. What happens when Rai's group of friends get dragged into the drama of his immortal world?
This was originally posted as a webtoon, now released as a graphic novel. Overall I loved the baseline of this story, however I felt that parts of it fell short to my liking. I definitely see the draw, and many paranormal readers will enjoy this story. However, it wasn't really for me as I found it to be dry in certain sections, and the dialogue stagnant. 2.5 stars rounded up.

Un titre dont j’avais vu passer sur crunchyroll son adaptation en anime, mais dont je ne connaissais que peu de choses. J’ai été agréablement surprise par cette lecture !
Après avoir été en sommeil pendant plus de 800 ans, Cadis Etrama Dit Raizel alias Rai, reprend connaissance. Le souci, c’est qu’il ne connaît rien des nouvelles technologies et avancées scientifiques de l’époque actuelle.
Il va donc chercher au sein d’une école et avec l’aide d’un de ses fidèles serviteurs, à en apprendre un peu plus sur cette époque. Le problème, c’est qu’il va se lier d’amitié avec certains élèves et que ces derniers risques d’être embarqué dans de drôle d’histoire.
Le personnage de Rai est vraiment intrigant. Même à la fin du premier tome, on en sait pas tant que ça sur lui, mais en même temps, c’est ce qui me donne impatiemment envie d’avoir la suite entre les mains.
En bref, l’histoire est vraiment intrigante et j’ai adoré chacun des personnages. J’ai vraiment hâte d’en apprendre un peu plus sur Rai et sur tous les mystères qui l’entourent !

So SO sad one of my favorite character has to be sacrificed. Major-character-death can be huge bummer.
I am also getting tired and frustrated over Rai's condition each time he uses his power. The cost is just too great to bear. It's painful for readers to watch. I wish he could get over it soonest possible before I get fed up. Also the way the good guys gets bullied each and every time even after putting in so much effort at improving themselves is annoying and it's killing me watch them being so helpless.

-As someone that doesn't read a lot of action-packed manhwa, I still loved it. You grow very close to the main characters.
-After a while, you may notice some elements of the story being subtly repetitive but it didn't bother me, I also absolutely LIVE for the ramyeon representation in it.
-It has no romance at all, not even a HINT of it. It's super long so you can keep it in the back of your mind as a backup manhwa especially for bus rides and other mundane things where you need to kill time/boredom.
-It has a confusing ending but until the very last two chapters, it's really good and worth it. (And, they're planning to turn this into an anime soon so stay tuned!)

I absolutely love this series!
I admit, the pacing, in the beginning especially, is slow. And at the rate the physical English copies are coming out- makes it seem even slower. But in the long run, this series is definitely worth it!
As more characters get introduced and more information is revealed on the world they live in and the villains- it gets so exciting!!!
All the characters have amazing growth throughout the series and the comedic side to Noblesse cracks me up!! I absolutely love Rai’s moments with the modern world and how he interacts with the high schoolers.
Definitely recommend~and stick with it! It gets so good!

Slow read, but the story is very intriguing that I had to keep going to see what happens. I'm slowly getting into reading Webtoons and this will be one that I will continue to read. I love Rai and I'm very curious to know about his backstory and his dynamic with Frankenstein. I hope the story goes more into details about Rai and what led him to fall asleep, but disappear that no one could find him. I'm also curious in finding out more about Frankenstein and how he came to be what he is

Whoa, volume 1 was good good and had me itching to read more by the end. I recently say that this title was adapted into an anime and couldn't wait to pick it up. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!
Initially, I thought the story was going to go a completely different way with the characters, but I like where it went without being too cringey (at least, not yet). I can't say much without spoiling anything, but I was invested by the end of vol 1 and will be reading more!
