I write urban fantasybooks. I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist by day and a writer by night. I have found my passion fo writing and it takes the forefront on my life. I have created characters that anyone can releate with. I want people to see what I see in each of my characters. I just hope they bring you as much joy as they have brought me.
I received this book for review from the author and the Lovers of Paranormal (a GoodReads group). I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
This is told in the first person but it’s from Zane’s point of view. I also have a warning for you: Be careful as you read because Zane may know just what you’re thinking – shame on you!
Zane is the beta to the alpha from book one. If you haven’t read book one yet, this is a good reason to so that you know what he’s like. Tristan has asked him to bring order to the Appalachian Pack. He also needs to work with Tristan’s sister Elaina. But he’s keeping a personal secret from her. They are a couple that is very sexual – once demons have been dealt with.
Marie has written a very fascinating shifter tale and it’s totally different from her first book. The problem I had with this book was that I didn’t want to put it down. There was a personal fight going on – watch one of my favorite shows or read this book. Well, Marie’s book won the fight – thank goodness for repeats.
I think it was a great idea to make this book from the male’s point of view. Most of the first person books I read are always from the female perspective – it just seemed to make it a little more real. There’s also some violence but don’t forget that this is part of being in a wolf pack. And the sex – there’s a lot and yes it is hot but it doesn’t take away from the rest of the story. You will also want to think about what type of music you want to listen to. Zane happens to like heavy metal – me, not so much so if I were to read this again I would choose some Queen.
I also wondered about the type of research that Marie might have done to get all the BDSM scenes sounding so real. Did she talk with someone who lives the scene? Did she use her great imagination or lots of research? Then it made me wonder what comes next for our wolf pack. So if you’re a shifter fan, go ahead and give this series a try.
In a market where vampires and werewolves are at the forefront of fantasy entertainment, Pack Law: The Awakening will provide the much-needed fl ip-side to the vampire phenomenon, focusing solely on the werewolf community. Marie Stephens creates a fi ctional world in which werewolves live in secret harmony with the human world, relying on its own set of laws to establish boundaries. The Black Mountain pack, under the leadership of Tristan, has bestowed upon Zane the duties of restoring order to the Appalachian pack, which was formerly led by Michael. Michael’s death left the pack without proper leadership, and Tristan is counting on Zane to lead the pack and educate them on their laws and routines. Zane and Elaina, however, have discovered that the Appalachian pack has no desire to merge with the Black Mountain pack. It’s up to Zane to fi gure out how to do so while maintaining a cohesive werewolf community. Zane’s ability to read minds aids him in his investigation of stray pack wolves on their land. Also of importance to Zane are the clubs that he frequents in an effort to quiet his primal urges and the voices in his head. In the back of his mind is his attraction to Elaina, with whom he has always had an emotional and physical connection. He fears that she wouldn’t understand his needs and would reject him for his reliance upon them. As their relationship progresses, the romance heats up, and those seeking some racy respite from the back-and-forth of alpha adventure will enjoy this diversion. These scenes are not for sensitive readers, however, and will suitably play to the animalistic nature within each character. In every group, there will always be dissonance. Someone will always strive to hold the power and stretch their alpha muscles or challenge those who fi ll a position for which they feel they are more rightly suited. It’s no different in Marie’s novel. Two female werewolves are at odds, rivaling for Zane’s affections, and Miranda, the challenger, resorts to deception. Then when a new werewolf arrives, the future of the pack is left to Zane as they discover that he is Michael’s brother, Jaxson, who hopes to continue his brother’s goal of integrating the werewolves with the human population in an effort to exploit them for his own purposes. This fi rst-person narrative provides an insight into the minds of werewolves, particularly Zane, and exposes the raw feelings and emotions that come along with living with such qualities and characteristics. Readers will understand the necessity of alphas in a pack and those who follow their leadership. Without this establishment, Pack Law: The Awakening would be just another novel about werewolves, leaving readers clueless about the nature of their fi ctional existence. A little bit of romance and rivalry round out the novel and create an entertaining read for adults who need a break from the real world.
I had read the first book in the series and could not wait to see what was next. Marie Stephens had me from the very first interaction of Elaina and Zane. Elaina was a strong heroine, she is use to taking care of herself. Zane is a strong alpha male who is use to being the one to take care of everything. It was a sure thing that they would not always agree 100% but it was wonderful to see them grow and compromise with each other. They had a tall task from the beginning undoing damage to the pack but you knew they were going to pull through all the challenges. I loved seeing Tristan and Ava again. I also liked the introduction of Salvador and Selena, I hope they have a story of their own. I am also curious about Malcom. I enjoyed the twists and changes through out the story. I am hoping for more books in this series. It was a great story and I am going to recommend it to my friends who love shifter stories.
I liked the second book a little better than the first. There was a lot more going on. Like I said above, I do not read ‘romance/erotic’ books, but again, it has a great story line, for those of you that do! Zane takes Elaina as his mate after being given the place as the Alpha of the pack. He and Elaina are then drugged and kidnapped to be tricked into Zane taking another mate while under the influence of the drugs. The pack has to determine who was behind it, who the ones are that caused it to be as it broke the laws of the pack.
Unfortunately, I can't review this on my blog due to being family friendly, but as a very loyal reader, I have to do the review after reading the books I've read and will say this:
If you love erotica, fiction and wolves / werewolves then you're going to love this.
If you want to know "who" done it, you gotta read it.

The second book in The Pack Law series, was amazing. Now we follow the story of Zane, who is becoming an Alpha and Elaina who has known Zane since childhood. Elaina is a werewolf who decided to stay away from pack life until now. Now she yearns to be with Zane, who has many hang ups of his own especially when it comes to sex. This again fast paced read follows Zane in his journey to become a pack leader, and his path to Elaina which he was destined for. This was a great quick read, I absolutely loved it.

I thought it was a great book. It as longer than the other one. I liked how Marie Stephens described the characters more. I feel like I can relate to Elaina being independent and rebellious. I hope there will be a book three. And have it be about Salvador and I think, if I interpreted it right, that his love interest is Selena.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review for LoP. OMG amazing and hot read! Zane is the new alpha because the old alpha Michael was killed. Tristan's sister Elaine loves Zane. Zane is into BDSM. Zane wants Elaine but afraid he would hurt her. I highly recommend this book for erotica lovers.
WARNING THIS REVEIW CONTAINS A SPOILER!!!!! I was given this book in exchange for an honest review LOP. generally I didn't mind this book. I was not a huge fan of the way it was written. I found it kinda hard to read and a little confusing at times. There were also spelling mistakes and punctuation mistakes in several areas of the novel. I think in some parts the author may have put the wrong name down since the sentence and context of the sentence didn't make a lot of sense. Other then those things I did like this book. I like how the author brought in some of the "spicer" side of sexual content. It made reading it quiet fun. Zane as a character was probably one of my favourites. He had many layers and sides to him. He had the dark side of BDSM, then as the novel goes on you see a softer side when he becomes mated with Elaina. Elaina herself is a close second to my favourite character. She sees something she wants and goes for it on full force. I love that about her and her feisty nature is just plain fun. The twist of Zane marking another mate, Miranda by being tricked by her and some of the wolfs within his own pack was genius. She turned a character that usually is a one time "blurp" in novels into somewhat of a main character. I quiet enjoyed the triangle, drama and suspense that twist instigated. All in all I do believe this is a good novel. It has some rough edges that could be smoothed out but the general story line is a good one. Thank you for allowing me to review this novel
I was really hopeful about this book. I had reviewed the first book, Pack Law, about a month ago and it had so much potential. First off, the story line was decent - this still could be a really good book. Marie needs to get together with an editor, or have some beta readers look this over and tell her exactly what errors were made and when. There were so many, it was driving me insane. From typos to complete wrong words, this could be so much better. The thing that threw me the most was the wrong character name in the wrong place, it only happened a couple of times, but it was in a significant place in the story. She does some really good character building, but then there was the explanation of what BDSM was, not just once but a few times over the course of the book. It really should have only been once, if that. It is a part of the story, but I felt the only explanation that was needed was for Zane's mate, since she was completely new to it all. Marie has some really good ideas, and if she would just work with beta readers and an editor prior to publishing, this had the potential to be so much better.
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest exchange LoP.
I received a copy of this book from LoP in place of an honest review.
I had mixed feelings about this book at first I was getting a little confused and the wording was really getting to me. I battled through it and started liking the book a little more. So I am wondering how I should rate this book. It was a little slow at first and once it started to pick up it made me want to read it even more.
Zane is a were-shifter that knows what he wants and he is a DOM. He has feelings for his alpha's sister Elaina but knows she isn't the woman for him. He has to have total control. Tristan his alpha has decided that he should become alpha of his own pack. There is just so much going on in this book and it can be a little much.
I will say that I have read other books by this author and have really enjoyed them. I don't know why it took a little to get into this story and I know that not every book will reach you the same way. So this is a first person story and is a little slow at first but you can give it a try. I will warn that there is some BDSM in this book which gives it a little character.
I would give it a 3 1/2 star but I can't do that on here.

The book was ok, I didnt hate it. The writing style for me was the same as the first. Kinda of robotic and rushed. For a quick read you will be able to get past that. I liked the concept of the story and I liked the the characters. Zane and Elaina, Zane huffs and puffs out his Dom nature and Elaine doesnt cower down to much. (smiles). Elaine knew she wanted to be with Zanne and went after him. As always when one takes over a pack, it will sow the seeds of discontent with some other wolves. Zanne's a new alpha of a old pack, they go out of their way to fight him tooth and nail. One of Zanne's old aquaintences will play a part in a triangle that may just break up the "happy" couple. The BDSM element.. (from one thats in the lifestyle) its there but.. well yeah its there. For anyone that's not in the lifestyle you wont be able to tell. (smiles)The sex scenes were warm and nice.
Overall its worth reading... the love you can see as well as the passion. There is a twist or two to make you want to finish to see how the story will end. Have fun and enjoy
I received this book in exchange for an honest review, LoP. I read and enjoyed the first book in this series so naturally wanted to carry on reading. I was a little disappointed that this book was about Zane. Although I liked Zane as a character, with his choppy moods, the voices driving him mad, and elaina as a character, I didn't see much courtship between them and it felt rushed, also happened in the first book. I thought the natural passion/slight aggression towards each other was a good mix with the dominate characteristics of each of them. I also thought the BDSM was unnecessary and spoilt it a bit, and really reminded me of the Fifty Shades series. What with the werewolf part of the story, I felt the BDSM took away from that.
I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review, LoP. This book has a very good story line. I find it intersesting what Zane and Elaine have to do to be together. Zane is into BDSM and doesn't want to hurt Elaine. I would recomend this book for people who enjoy erotic books. I really enjoyed it.
