Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

My Thoughts:
Unfortunately, I didn't care for this book very much. The writing was a bit subpar, the characters were shallow, and the story was superficial.

I really tried to immerse myself into the story but it took me three days to read 129 pages because of the aforementioned factors.

Heather Booth has been secretly in love with Julian Goff for two years. Unfortunately, it is unrequited love because: (1) Julian is Heather's boss and (2) he is a dog. He uses women and throws them away after having her buy them a piece of fare-the-well jewelry.

So, the setup is actually one that I have read before...countless times. However, this story differs in that the story felt like a hodge podge of ideas instead of one cohesive story.

One Friday evening, girls night out at a local bar, Heather ruminates over her feelings for Julian with her friends Connie, Ashley, and Amber *sounds like a cheerleading squad*. The three friends immediately jump in and reaffirm what Heather already knows: Julian is a dog...or as the book declares, "a horn dog". Deciding to put Julian out of her mind, Heather dances the night away with her girls. But, little does she know that she is being watched by "the man" himself. He doesn't like the fact that other men are lusting after Heather, even though he is there with another woman who he quickly discards later that evening.

Heather arrives to work the following Monday and is instantly in Julian's cross hairs. He unleashes his ire on her for "inappropriate" activities at the bar over the weekend. Well, Heather, in her own fit of rage, responds in kind, by voicing her displeasure at Julian. One minute they are arguing and in another turn Julian has Heather bent over his desk and he is giving her "the business" right in the office.
So, at this point, I click back a page on my Kindle because it really felt as if I had missed some critical change in the story...but no...it was fight and then sex. Oooooookay then...reading on.
The sex sparks the beginning of their "relationship" where Heather willing agrees to be at Julian's beck and call until he decides he is done with her.
Now, the feminist in me is tsking and shaking her head at poor stupid young...but not naive...Heather.
Heather is fully aware of what will happen to her at the end of the proposition -- jewelry and goodbye -- but she enters into the agreement eagerly.

From this point, the story evolves with Julian and Heather having plentiful sex and with Heather dismissing her friends for the relationship. Her friends don't approve of Julian because he is a dog and they know that he will eventually hurt Heather but also because he is several years her senior -- his forty years to her twenty-five. But, the story between her friends is an odd one. In one instance they are condemning her for her relationship with him and in the next they are telling her that she is "a lucky woman" which didn't jibe at all. Heather and her band of cheerleaders friends seemed very immature. The written dialogue made them seem as if they were in their teens rather than their mid-twenties.

And I will end my review with this ewww...ewww...ewww reflection. Julian and Heather inconsistently used condoms during their relations. And on one such occasion, Julian told Heather that, "I am going to spunk inside you. I want to feel your cum around my cock".
*Doe eyed blink*...*followed by a gag*...Dear lord! Please tell me that the author DID NOT just write that.
Not sexy...crass, with a capital "C"!

As the first book in the series, this book -- the writing, the characters, the dialogue, and the actual story -- did not inspire me to want to read on. Definitely NOT my cuppa.

Are there really women out there that will hook up with a known playa for a month or so, give it all up to him in exchange for a diamond trinket? Yes, I believe so. Would I ever be one of those women...not on my life. And so it goes when I met Heather. She is smart, funny and sweet...only problem is that she is sweet on her boss too! Julian. And Julian is the biggest playa around. At 40 years old, Julian has not committed to any woman for longer than a month (do the math, that is A LOT of women!). But I digress. Julian is a love'm and leave'm kind of guy. Except when it comes to Heather.

Heather was hired as his personal assistant over 2 years ago and she has become his friend, his trusted business ear, and his quiet place. He simply enjoys spending time with her. That is until he sees her dancing in a club and realizes that she is a woman. A curvy gorgeous woman that has men ogling her juicy backside. Julian loves her curves and I too like a woman with curves, but she needs to love her curves! That one issue irked me about Heather. She is described in the size 10-12 range, but compared to the skinny supermodels that Julian normally dates, Heather mentions her weight constantly (irritating).

Their romance and their love story was somewhat predictable, but there was some good heat to it. The warning from GR was somewhat misleading...very little spanking (a swat here and there) but the other was a big deal for Julian and he liked to go back door often (I skipped those parts). I am really excited to read Amber and Elijah's story...they have my interest peaked. A hidden romance that none of the friends know about! Enjoy!

Heather has loved her boss for some time unfortunately one of her job descriptions is buying his girlfriends farewell gifts, and theres been many. Julian knows how valuable an employee Heather is so when he see's her out dancing he is shocked to realize he's jealous. After seeing Heather Jullian decides to confront her which end with them together on his desk at work. After their encounter they both decide to spend time "enjoying" one another but Jullian has made it clear he doesn't and he won't do commitment. As time continues they spend more and more time together and the lines of their physical relationship become blurred. Now they both have to decide what they are willing to live with and maybe without. I loved this book Sam Crescent is a master at writing strong, possessive, jealous, domineering heroes and I love them and Jullian is no exception. Not only did I love both Jullian and Heather but the side characters as well. We get nice glimpses into their lives and I can't wait till we get their stories as well.

This was by far one of the best and most emotionally romantic of all Sam Crescents other novels. I loved this one and think it's one of the best ever published by Sam Crescent. I would recommend it to everyone... well 18+ but you get the drift.

Is there ever any reason to sleep with your boss? Especially when he’s a dog?

Heather just can’t resist. She’s been in love with Julian, her boss, for years and one of her duties is to buy his girlfriends a piece of jewelry for him to present before he dumps them. But despite this rather awful part of her job description, after a row about her dancing with friends at a club she has wild sex in the office with him and their relationship takes off. The trouble is, she and her friends know that Heather will end up getting hurt, or will she? Maybe she’s the one? Perhaps she can tame the boss and make him her own.

Sleeping with the Boss is a nice story about a couple falling in love in the modern world. I would have liked to know a little more about Julian’s history though, because he is such a rat with women, I kind of needed to know why, and what it was about him that made Heather go from being mad at him to having a sex-fuelled relationship with him (without condoms a lot of the time). He just wasn’t that likeable and I did really, really like Heather, she felt real and emotional, he was gorgeous yes, but… I would have liked to see a little more in him that Heather saw. I enjoy falling for the heroes in the novels I read and Julian didn’t completely win me over.

Heather has some very protective friends, at times they made me laugh out loud, others I felt a bit cross with them, as Heather did too. It’s always good to have secondary characters in a book, again, it makes the story real, no one lives in isolation after all. The three friends were very vocal, supportive in their own way and certainly the girls shared everything. A couple of times Heather called them when Julian was within hearing distance, telling them very intimate things, this made me think she was a little immature, Julian after all is in his forties dating a woman in her twenties, I think her calling her girlfriends was unnecessary and didn’t help her cause – it did all add to the twists and turns of the story of course.

The sex was deliciously steamy, a good amount of it too. As mentioned, the condom thing bothered me. Heather just seemed like a woman who would have been more sensible. The anal sex scene was hot, though a little more build up to it, as in it being something they’d both fantasized about would have been great – perhaps a racy dream or a scene of her watching the anal sex porn that was alluded to. Oh, yes, that would have been a great addition and I’m sure the author would have tackled it well.

I was certainly rooting for Heather to get her happy ever after ‘and’ her man. Julian did redeem himself in my eyes by the end of the book and I certainly didn’t struggle to read it or finish the novel. All in all a light-hearted read, nothing majorly new in terms of plot line, but sweetly rounded and entertaining.

4.5 stars. Another book that It was sweet. Jaden a playboy that didn't know how to love or to be true. Love the idea that the leading male character is on the 30's and 40's. That is a delight, which means, we all can find love. Love the author's idea of having a male character who is wants to possess as well as an obsession towards the female. It provide a great dear of honor to be embrace by that in a sex appeal. Heather, was a cutie, how she loved and hate her boss by far. Her friends, were great to have. Her brother even though there was not much of him but he was there regardless she didn't want him or not. But I didn't understand How in the world did Jaden knew that one of Heather's friend were into a threesome; Inquiring minds one to know. Even though he was scared to take the leap of love, at the end it was wonderful. The Epilogue was amazing. Bravo and encore to the author, a job well done. Thank you.

This is short smutty romance and it is so freaking good. I love how the main character is not a skinny model girl who everybody wants but a girl who is not loving her body bc she is overweight but her boss who becomes lover didn't want her to think like that and he told her he would spank her every time she thinks about that. It's not insta love there is affection thru years working together and that's was perfect for this for somebody who was player to openly have something with the person who is with him for a long time and he knows her and he is affected but he needed time to check with his brain and heart what he wants to do with her.

Heather has been lusting after her boss for ever.. she been venting to her close friends about that, they drink and have a ball at a bar but unknown to her Julian sees her dancing having a great time he also has been wanting her forever but he doesn't do relationships. When he sees her at the office they have a spat and things get down and dirty between them.

Tension between them they start to semi-date? Or friends with benefits some type of sexual relationship.. heather knows not to get attached but she does once she informs her friends she falling in love, julian hears it and breaks up with her...

Can he win her back? And we get some hints with the other woman in the group!!

I’ve been a fan of Sam Crescent for a while and when I saw this book, I knew I had to review it. I have read many of her books and enjoy her writing style. I love her spunkiness and the way she doesn’t care if it will offend anyone or not. She writes with passion.

I started reading this book and I just wanted friends like Heather had. Then I realized that each one of them still keep some secrets from each other. They are there for each one and they speak their minds and that are the kinds of friends that everyone needs.

I loved how Heather went ahead and had an affair with her boss Julian. She knew how he was with women and she still took the chance knowing that in the end her heart would be broken. That just shows you the kind of woman that Heather is. She is a little down on herself because she isn’t skinny like every woman wants to be. It seems that when she gets with Julian she starts feeling better about herself.

I can’t wait to read about the other three. I hope that each one gets their own story because they each have different personalities that you just can’t ignore. I was trying to go slow and take this book in but it just sucked me in and away I went. It did have a little bit of spanking, but not enough to call it a BDSM.

I would tell everyone to read this book because it has a strong woman who is willing to take the chance. She also knows that no matter what her friends will be there for her whatever the outcome is.

Heather has a secret relationship with her boss whom she has been crushing on since he employed her. It happens that her boss, Julian, has equally been lusting after her. Oh, and Heather is insecure about her weight. So during this period, she becomes withdrawn from her group of friends and spends more time with Julian having wild monkey sex with him in his house and sometimes at work. Her coworkers are not privy to this relationship.

Julian is known as a "horn dog", dating women for short periods of time. He gives these women jewelries when he breaks up with them as a parting gift of sorts. Heather dates him knowing that he will one day dump her with a jewelry. To cut the long story short, he eventually dumps her and gives a jewelry which she refuses. She makes up with her friends and her brother whom she has a stranded relationship with. Our horn dog Julian realizes his mistake, follows her home, professes his love for her and asks her to marry him. She says yes, of course. I'm still waiting for the point of this book. Did I mention that Julian is 40 and she's 25? oh, and one of her friends has a kinky bdsm sort of relationship with her brother that none of them is aware of? Now Julian is aware of this relationship and I wonder he found out. I cannot believe people actually like this book.

Awww who doesn’t enjoy reading about a quick office romp on the boss’s desk…it sure isn’t me! There is just something about the boss/secretary mix that just makes these types of stories fun to read. Having read a few of Sam Crescent’s books I do believe this is definitely one of my favorites. Sure there is the normal office clichés, the terminal bachelor turned devoted fiancé…but that is the fun of fiction. These are two issues many many people wish they (or someone else) could overcome, isn’t it fun to read about it happening!
Enjoy!

It was a nice book. I wouldn't say I would re read it because it was slightly vague when it came to developing the characters. The h's relationship with her family and Elijah wasn't well portrayed and absolutely nothing about the H relationship with his apart from they being unhappy. Usually for me when there are some glimpses from the past it helps me understand the characters better but due to the lack of it in this book it left me slightly confused. But it was good for a one time read. Definitely

SO GREAT!
I loved this book. I love the characters and the storyline is great. Julian is the type of guy you love to hate and hate to love but he grows on you. Heather is strong, beautiful, sweet and confident. Her friends are awesome. Julian and Heather have an explosion chemistry and the sex scenes are set your crotch on fire smokin hot. This is the first book I've read by Sam but definitely not the last. I'm now a big fan. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Sam definitely has a dirty dirty imagination. Lucky for us. Lol.

I almost put down the book it's similar of the books that I read in erotic love stories i find it abrupt in every way that a man is scared to get tied up forever even thou he love his woman he wants to end it but don't want it to end? What good in this book is the strong bond of friendship the heroine of the sibling side of the story is touchy I myself not close with my brother but I can't picture myself to be close to him. It's quick for me and it explains well. What I have in mind right now in these type of books I think I have to be a pro by getting laid lol

This book was OK. Nice read.

Heather has lusted and been in love with her boss since she got hired, but Julian is a womanizer who loves, no, fucks them and leaves them. He had Heather buy them a nice partying gift, jewelry, when he is fine with them.

After a heated agreement they kids then fuck. There starts the story. A little to predictable for my liking and the ending was proof how weak a heroine Heather is. Not to mention Julian is a major douche bag!
