To get her as far away from the scandal caused by her affair with presidential candidate Chase Underwood, Larissa Jacobs has been flown to a lavish villa in a remote area of the Tuscan countryside. Since delivering her heartfelt denial of their affair on national television two days before the election, Larissa has heard very little from Chase. But Larissa’s apology works like a charm and Chase wins the election by the skin of his teeth.
Larissa watches the news coverage of Chase’s victory and fantasizes about him storming into the villa in Tuscany and making good on his promise to marry her. But her fantasies are becoming less and less appealing with every day they spend apart. It doesn’t help that the hot Secret Service agent assigned to guard her has become the only person she can speak to.
Will Larissa remain true to her promise to wait for Chase? Will Chase finally put his love for Larissa before his career?
This is the fourth installment in the Power Players Series.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cassia Leo grew up in California and has lived in three different countries. She loves to travel and her dream is to one day score a record deal based on her awesome shower singing skills. She is the author of the Shattered Hearts series (Relentless, Pieces of You, Bring Me Home). She is also the author of the popular Luke and Chase series.
Larrisa is whisked off to Tuscany in an effort to defuse the scandal between her and Chase right before the election. She plays her part and helps Chase land the presidential win. However waiting for him is harder than she thought and Drew begins to flood her thoughts. When Chase gets wind that he might possibly lose Larissa he makes a bold move.
I liked the ending and despite the rushed story and whirlwind feeling, it's fiction and I enjoyed it. Entertaining...
"I've never met anyone as fiercely loyal and trusting and beautiful as you, Larissa. I want the world to know not just that I love you but that you love me, because that's what makes me the luckiest bastard in the world"
First let me start by saying, the reason I read this was because I just finished the Luke Series by Cassia Leo and I had to read this also. These series are great, they are really quick reads but only because you get sucked in from the first sentence and don't put it down until its over.
Larissa is in her early 20's and moved to L.A. to become an actress. After not getting her big break she picks up small side jobs. After losing her last job as a children's party entertainer, she resorts to becoming an escort for Black Tie Escorts where her roommate worked for 3 year. The only reason she takes the job is because if she doesn't start doing something she won't be able to pay for her student loans, debt and even rent.
She knew her first day at work was going to be someone with a high profile client but she didn't expect it to be Chase Underwood, the 39 year old Senator, Presidential Candidate and MARRIED Chase Underwood!
She quickly finds herself as his new Personal Assistant for his Campaign with LOTS of benefits...and I can't stress the work LOTS enough!
"When life hands you a precious gift, wrapped in a flashy bow, sometimes it turns out to be a boxful of lemons"
With Chase being such a high profile person, their "relationship" has to remain a secret. With reporters and journalists everywhere, someone is bound to figure something out.
Chase and Larissa's odds of being able to stay together don;t look good....is their love for each other strong enough to last??
Chase was so sweet. You want him to have everything and even though you want to yell...JUST GIVE IT UP FOR HER...you know he can't do that. Not just anyone can get the chance to run for president. He deserves to get what he wants and has worked for 10 years to get also. It is all just so bitter sweet!
Also, let me tell you...this book was H.O.T., hot, hot, hot!!! Chase....a VERY generous man!
Oh, I can't forget to mention Drew...He is a secret service agent that is always with Larissa and oh boy, I fell for that man!! YUUMMMMMY!!!
The entire series is told in Larissa's POV. I would have loved to hear what Chase was thinking in a few parts but it really didn't change by opinion at all.
Cassia Leo really captivates her readers from the start! She has a full length novel coming out soon called Relentless and I must say, I will be reading that the day its out, CAN NOT WAIT!!!
I wont be casting this one on my own because all the covers show pictures and I really like them as the characters...they are perfect!!
For being a short story series, this was a great ending....I just wish they would have been made into a longer book and the story more in detail. This was a great concept for a story, and could be so much more if given the right amount of attention to detail. I commend the author for even attempting to broach a political topic like this... With that said I did really enjoy this story I love my happy endings, and this didn't disappoint me. I thought for sure that Drew was going to steal Larissa away in the end and be her finding the right guy when she stopped looking, but I was wrong....I was happy to be wrong because I LOVED how it ended.
Wow! I did not see that ending coming! I completely LOVED this read!
I wasn't for sure if I liked Chase after reading the previous three books. I fell in complete love with him in this book. Larissa finally gets the ending she so deserves!
This was better then the previous book. When they did get back to together things were different. He had made huge change which effected many people. May possibility end up reading some other tiles by this author.
Larissa Jacobs has denied her affair with presidential candidate Chase Underwood. Her very public exclusive interview has discredited the LA Times reporter who tried to undermine Chase's campaign. Now, taken away from Chase and the turmoil of election day, Larissa has time to ponder her actions and her faith in the man she loves. Chase knows that his winning the election depended on denying his love for Larissa. Now faced with the chance of losing her forever, the new President of the USA, has to choose between his career aspirations and true love. The last installment of the series is a bit too simple when considering an elected president. To believe that Chase is willing to first smear Larissa's reputation, to then turn around and give up office to be with her was a bit too unreal for me…
I couldn't believe that he send her to that place, and I actually thought that she would hook up with Drew just to get to him. But her telling him that Drew has a crush was apparently enough to quit his job.
Would that happen in real life? I don't really think so, but nevermind, it happened in the book so that makes me happy.
A really short series that works really well. It was well written and you do get caught up in the characters for such a quick read. I still prefer the depths of the Luke series, but chase was great for a hot fast read
3.5 In the end, Larissa and Chase got their unbelievable Hollywood ending. I'm happy for them, but at the same time I wish there was more to make me believe it. I almost started rooting for Agent Drew, but Chase redeemed himself. Great read as a whole unit.
If I were Larissa, I would have hightailed it out of Chase's life, maybe ran off with the secret service dudes.... But if Chase is real, then I would want him too! Nice wrap up!!!
Really loved this book. I was thinking that Chase would end up being a slimy politician & that Drew would step in to save the day. Really liked the ending & so didn't expect it to happen.
Omg is the first thing I said when I started reading this book like it was addicting Chase is hot and Larissa so good for him I can't wait to read more
I absolutely loved the conclusion of this great story. I loved reading what came next for Larissa and Chase. This was a great and definitely fulfilling ending to an awesome series.
I wouldn't call this a book, it's more of a teaser. I LOVE Cassia Leo but Chase did not do it for me. It was the best out of the series.. Definitely not my favorite Cassia Leo.
Wow what an exciting ride Chase and Larissa took us on. I really liked the ending and am glad Chase realized what was important! I wish Chase had that chat with drew though!! Would of been epic.
