It may have been the mood I was in when I read it (sorely in need of a laugh), but this story hit me perfectly. I wouldn't change a thing about it. I love getting to spend time with these characters again, and it's awesome to see what Harry and Logan's relationship looks like a year and a half out from the events of The Condor. They are as beautifully and hilariously dysfunctional as ever, which is just how I like them. I also really appreciated that this is not your average sweet, feel-good Christmas story. Apparently it is possible to write a Christmas story without making it even the tiniest bit sappy. I approve!
It was such a funny short story! Easily deserving 5 stars!
Isa has a magical way with words and Harry is still a favourite character. Though short, the story is wonderful and quite in-sync with the winter holidays. Though you'd probably need to read The Condor to fully appreciate it.
Logan takes Harry to meet his family for Christmas, but he's not out, so he introduces Harry as his "life coach". Yeah, because everyone's going to fall for that, Logan.
I love the character of Logan, even back when he was 100% asshole. Now he's down to about 80-90% on a good day. I still love him though, and mostly I love how Harry gets him. Not that Harry's perfect either...which I think is what I love so much about the Condor boys.
Meanwhile, back in the city, Danny is looking after Harry's place, and Harry's tree. It's nice to know he's finally getting some use out of that botany degree.
Four stars for the fun story, plus one because it's free! Thanks for the Christmas present, Isa!
It's so great to see Harry and Logan a year and a half later, and still as funny and complicated as ever. Perfect coda, and nice also to get a glimpse of a well-balanced Danny. Loved it.
The character development is so incredibly awesome. I love Harry and Logan.
Side note: I didn't tag this as BDSM because even though they had that kind of relationship, and it was mentioned, there weren't any scenes in the book.
Logan's family is a crazy and funny (in lack of other adjectives :)), but seeing that Logan is himself quite... unique... it wasn't so unexpected. It's a cute epilogue to The Condor.
Weird, parts of it didn't really make sense to me, I still can't shake away the ghost of Liam's memory, but still cute. In a weird sort of way.
That tree...I get the feeling it's going to come back and haunt them. Like that common trope with that random object following you around/appearing randomly everywhere you go.
I laughed more than a few times during Harry's narration of the holiday goings-on. Dry and witty to sarcastic humor. Poor Logan, so afraid of his family, but still he invites Harry home. The mother and brothers are hysterical in their hoity New England ways. Found another book to read 'cause I definitely need the scoop on these two.
Short story of what happens when Logan takes Harry home for Christmas to meet his family....
This was another good laugh. Logan will not let Harry stay at the home they share by himself over the holiday period, so he persuades Harry (mostly with his body of course) to go to Connecticut with him as his Life Coach and meet the family......Logan is still not ready to come out to his family, but luckily for him, his family have already suspected that he's gay for quite some time, and are cool with it, but they do make Harry jump through some hoops first so they can have a laugh at Logan's expense, which isn't difficult to do.
My thanks go to the author, first for giving me a chance to spend some more time with Logan and Harry, and second for the laughs.
Lovely Xmas short, a glimpse of the guys from The Condor some time into the future, during the dreaded "meet the parents" visit to Logan's home. Like all of this author's books, endearing, original, and funny.
Sweet and funny, pass the eggnog please! Logan's family is a surprise, Harry continues his emotional growth spurt, Danny has a bit of a busman's holiday, there was joy to the world and peace on earth. Merry Christmas guy's!
Fucking fabulous! And I was thinking, as I was reading and grinning like an idiot, that I could seriously see myself reading about these two until I'm older and grayer and loving every minute of it.
A short Christmas bonus story available for free on the author's smashwords. Although some parts didn't make sense to me, overall it was a lovely read!
So very enjoyable. Possibly even if you haven't read The Condor first.
Lovely turns of phrase - for example, a holiday traffic jam is described as cars doing the conga. And she nailed the preppy family thing, I know that world myself - NAILED IT.
We also get to see more about how/why Harry and Logan work together as a couple. Because I didn't quite get there with the last book. Now it's clearer that Harry's not just putting up with him, and it's not just about need and convenience, but rather genuine, bemused affection.
I think I like the affection all the more because it's not blind or rose-tinted.
Fun little bonus story for Logan and Harry, as they head to Connecticut to spend the holidays with Logan's family. Logan's brothers were a joy, but my favorite part is always the dynamic between Logan and Harry. Logan is a disaster of a man, but Harry can't help but love him. And I can't help but love these books.
Awwwwww. Just awww. Everything was perfect with this holiday follow up of The Condor. Harry and Logan visit Logan's family for Christmas and things are... Tense but funny! Loved it. Also, Danny plantsitting at Harry's while they are away. The ending made me purr. Could it have been any better?
A sweet update to Harry's tale in Condor. Its christmas and Harry has gone with logan to his family home. Its a more fun relatively angst free (except for those issues which trouble Logan) read than Condor and can be read as a standalone but does give us a nice update!
I love this author and this series. Her style of writing is fun and irreverent and this was a great Harry and Logan story, short and filling at the same time. Got a glimpse of Danny but mostly about Logan and his family and Harry at Christmas. Loved it!
