This is the first time I've read a book by this author, and I read it at the recommendation of someone who has given me some bum book advice in the past . . . but was I in for a surprise!
See Me was well-written, well-paced, very visual, and has intriguing plot twists. It was one of the most original stories that I've read in a very long time, and I think it's a shame that more people don't know about it.
The protagonist is Olivia Moy, a middle-aged widow whose late husband was a world-renowned writer with a cult following that continues to worship him. When she is approached by a university dean -- a colleague and friend of her grown son -- to assist in a biography of her husband, she struggles on how much should she divulge.
Does she protect the public image and legacy of the late husband? Or does she finally open up and let the world gleam insight into his darker side -- and in doing so rid herself of the demons that have haunted her?
I beseech you to read this book, and then spread the word. This book worthy of much acclaim and attention than it has so far received.

WOW, I do not want to give the plot away. I decided to read this book based on a couple of paragraphs the writer provided, I did not read any reviews in advance and therefore had no idea where this plot was going to go. The book was an easy difficult read. Easy to flow from page to page with no desire to pause, read in two hours. The difficult part was the revealing of secrets. The secrets are horrible. It is unlike any book I've ever read and if you read Adrienne Thompson's books before then you are going to get a well written book, great character development and you are going to search within yourself and yes she's going bring it. You are going to cry, you are going to hurt, you going to yell and then you are going to cry again. Mental illness with unexpected results. What kept me reading and my sanity to the end was the fact that "she" was alive to tell the story. It straddles the past and the present. Do you know your mate? Are you responsible for preserving their legacy after their demise? Can you kill someone twice? Are you forgiving and can you be forgiven?

Olivia Moy's relationship w/David Moy is a tough one to watch. What seems great on the outside to so many others is not always as good as it may seem. Adrienne took us on a journey that a lot of us question when in a relationship, Is love really enough? We as humans sometimes have demons that come back to haunt us if not handled properly. What's hiding in your closet and have you fully healed from your past? Domestic violence is real, it has no race, age, or gender.

Sometimes Love's Just Not Enough
Adrienne Thompson’s “See Me” is the story of David and Olivia Moy. David is a famous author. Olivia is a girl who fell in love and did not realize the price of loving someone who had so many demons.
All I can say for this one is wow! This book grabbed me from the beginning and held me captive until the last page. I read it in less than 3 hours. To say it was an emotional roller coaster is an understatement. I felt like I was right there in the story watching as Olivia revealed her story from beginning to end. You will not be disappointed with this book.
Hats off to the author. The book is very well written it really delves into the minds and hearts of those who have been in abusive situations. Readers will come away with a feeling of some deep emotions. I commend the author and to me this one was 5 stars all the way!

Having read previous novels by Ms. Thompson, I downloaded See Me expecting a great read from beginning to end. What I got was so much more! She had me hooked from the first sentence to the last period. Not only did the author bring it, she got in your face with it! David and Olivia Moy definitely were not your typical couple. At times, I didn't know whether to hug Olivia or choke her. David Moy, for sure, is the protagonist that you'll want to slap! A must-read, indeed!

I loved this book. It's a great read. This author is dynamic with her writing. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. This author is extremely talented. This story is good for those who need healing from relationships or every day trials and tribulations. I loved the ending.

I truly enjoyed See Me. Olivia was a brave and strong women who endured a lot from her husband. The novel was true to life. Happy to find that she was able to get some help to find herself in the me. Have read most of Adrienne's books. God bless and keep up the good work.

"See Me" by Adrienne Thompson is a remarkable read. On the surface, lives a story about the death of David Moy, and his wife's difficulties in coping with his passing. Readers are introduced to a seemingly timid Olivia Moy, as she mourns the loss of a man that was highly regarded and respected in the literary field. Everyone knew... everyone knew that Olivia was David's everything. He made it known in work after work - she was his muse. He worship his wife's beauty in poems and novels; additionally, David Moy was undeniably talented. So, what could have caused his death? Why would someone so talented part this world just suddenly, leaving behind an early/mid-20s son, Jason and an amazing wife? Growing up, I was always told that "the grass always looks greener on the other side" ... even, "come and see me, and come and live with me are two different things". These warnings hold true in this story.
Where the novel opens up and eventually ends is in stark contrast. As I read, taking time to dive into this skillfully written piece, I wondered how Ms. Thompson was able to practice such clever restraint in bundling up a deep and fascinating tale. I eagerly flew through the pages, wanting more and more, and still much more. Yet, only when Ms. Thompson was ready did she reveal what needed to be known. This novel teaches us that we can never truly know someone, no matter how long we've "known" them. Moreover, people can do an amazing job of maintaining a public image, even a private one. Yet, we never truly know what is going on in someone's heart, mind and soul. Even as I prepare this review, I am in awe of the multitude of revelations from "See Me". I am forced to wonder, reconsider, and meditate on various experiences in life - things that caused me to ever give another human a second thought and question their "issues". Perhaps that is the beauty of this work, it gets into the mind. Adrienne Thompson engages readers with a deep storyline and a complex character, dare I say characters.
For anyone seeking a quality read that unhinges the mind and transforms them into a remarkable tale, they will certainly find it in "See Me" by Adrienne Thompson.

When I purchased this it was simply because I loved the cover. Once reading this I understand the title "See Me" so much. This is the story of a woman who shows the epitome of strength. She endured things you wouldn't imagine for the love of her child. Through it all she loved a man that was hard to love and in the end we find out why. She over came it all.

This book peaked my interest in the beginning with the cover. I was intrigued as I read this story of sexual abuse within the marriage of David and Olivia Moy. It opens with David having just committed suicide and Olivia in a PTSD episode.
As Olivia begins to share her story with her son's boss who wants to write David's biography, I wasn't sure who was more disturbed: David or Olivia. And I wasn't surprised by the ending which I won't spoiled for whoever wants to read this one. I do wish there was more character development for Olivia as David's psychosis is somewhat revealed. I like showing as opposed to telling me, but that's just me.

What action filled book. I have read several books by the author and she has done an awesome job once again. It’s hard to talk bout the book because you have to make sure that you do not give always any of the special parts in the book. I think one of the best was to decried this book is from tragedy to triumph. It deals with mental, physical and emotional abuse. It also reminds you that it is up to you to seek the help you need and how your past will affect your future.

My first time reading this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I did enjoy this book even though its a tad bit on the dark side. What a sacrifice Olivia made for her son and her husband by enduring so much mental and physical abuse and torture just for the sake of protecting them.
A solid 5 stars because not only was the story well written it touches on so many issues. The storyline flowed, no going back and forth, no having to reread to catch up. Great read for an in depth conversation.

This book is about abuse: sexual, mental, and physical abuse from childhood to an adult. The famed writer David Moy suffered from mental illness because of the sexual abuse he endured from his stepmom. He then inflicted these acts upon his wife, Olivia and son, Jason. It is very well written. The characters are well fleshed out and believable.
This is my first book by the author Adrienne Thompson and won't be my last. I would recommend it to others. I gave this book a 4**** rating.

Oh my goodness!!
I read this book sorta holding my breath. So many woman suffer in silence. Suffering in silence in the name of love, and at the hands of someone who claims to love us. Or even more so, someone we think WE love. Mental illness is strong, so if afflicted up upon you, could you survive? Even with love? This was an excellent read!!

Dark & Light
This was an excellent story about finding healing, peace, and light in the midst of the darkness. The main character plagued with mental health issues in those she loves and within herself, struggles to crawl out of the darkness into the light where her healing resides. She's only able to do this with the love of a good man.

Keeping It In
I enjoyed reading this book. Mrs Moy suffered in silence. The hurt that she endured was horrible but she did it all for the love and safety of her child. That ia something mothers do all the time. Protect their childrren. She found happiness in the end.

Adrienne Thompson has done it again. She has created a character that pulled me into their life and made me forget about my own. Olivia Moy's story will pull you in and make you ache for her. The hauntingly expressive eyes staring back at you on the cover is only the beginning of a beautiful story. I have read a few books by Adrienne and with every one of them I've become more and more of a fan! If you're looking for a curl up in your bed with a cup of tea book...you need to go ahead and one click this one.

The Resilience of the Human Spirit
This novel, SEE ME, is a trip to the dark side of a marriage where the abuse was hard to read about, but I couldn't stop reading. Adrienne Thompson, once again has written a compelling and riveting story that left me drained, but relieved. The characters are so well developed that they seem real. This love story was so deep...my goodness. A must read.

See Me by Adrienne Thompson!!!! Wow…..David Moy was a brilliant young man that was abused during his childhood. David was an excellent writer. David put his wife Olivia through some trying time…..The strength of a woman……..Highly recommended.
