Carolyn is a Colorado Native, born and raised on a farm along the Denver Front Range where she was permitted to roam free and wander unfettered. She was fortunate to be reared in an all-natural environment, one that was unfenced geographically, emotionally and mentally, which makes her a totally legit “Free-Range Woman.”
Carolyn grew up in Louisville, and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. Although she no longer wears her Lennon glasses, tie-dyed skirts, or love beads, (except at Halloween), she will always remain a free spirit and a hippie at heart. She is passionate about all things Colorado, and loves to write about adventures and escapades in her beautiful state.
Carolyn lives in Broomfield, and when she’s not writing, painting or doing things with her kids and grand kids, she’s teaching sign language to her deaf dog, Zoey, an Australian Blue Heeler.

I enjoyed this book, however it left me hanging with Samantha and Cheyenne and whether or not they were going to be a couple of if Lance's nephew would be a contender for Samantha's affections. The story was good but it could have been a little more informative. I love the romance of a book
This is a wonderful suspenseful read with some romance. As the saying goes 'you had me at hello', well this book had me at the beginning and would not let go until the end. Even then I wanted the story to continue, needed to hear more of what was going to happen between Cheyenne & Sam. This story will bring you laughter, tears, joy, love and so many more emotions. This is truly a must read!
I just found another great author to read!
Thank you Carolyn Anderson Jones, hope you have more books out there... Brenda :)
Do cowboys really go commando? I really liked this book. Not at all what I expected but a pleasant surprise. You will not be disappointed if u take on this read. It is addicting right from the beginning and becomes even more so as u continue reading. It was free, but knowing what I do now, I would buy it!
I really liked this book with the old friends and the relationships that developed. It was a suspenseful read and couldn’t guess who did it. Wonder what happened to princess and Cheyenne and Luke and Lance and the twins.
There is no indication about whether Cheyenne and Sam would make a great couple. Are we to assume that every vet would easily build a relationship with an attractive cowboy? There’s a lot of sexual attraction, but that seems to be all there is. We’re supposed to believe in this romance between them, but there is none actually written. There is also this guy, Luke, who tries to seduce her with a plane and with being nice to her. There seems to be some real chemistry between him and Sam, but he is so obviously only there to get Cheyenne jealous; when he leaves and Cheyenne saves Sam at the end of the book, Luke isn’t even mentioned anymore.
The writing, too, annoyed me at a lot of places. There were completely random shifts in perspective at times; mostly when there’s a guy checking out Sam, the writing suddenly shifts to his POV for a couple of lines, then just as suddenly switches back. There were also very detailed, boring paragraphs detailing the background of every person we meet, without giving any information that would actually be of interest. And an actual scene of men walking into posts because they were so impressed by Sam and Isabelle trying on clothes.
I am pretty sure that this book could have been twice as short without losing any information, there was so much repetition. Then there was just the actual writing style, with sentences like:
“Sam sensed there were sparks flying between them because she could smell the man’s fear. It was sweat.” I’m pretty sure she smelled the sweat and deduced it was fear?
“Have you ever seen a child’s face when he saw a gigantic sucker in a candy store, or Santa Claus at the mall? That’s exactly how Max Chandler looked when he saw Isabella. He was smitten. Sam was afraid he would stop breathing and might pass out from lack of oxygen, but she didn’t worry. Isabella knew CPR.” Okay...
“The voice sounded breathy and blonde.” How on earth does a voice sound blonde?
Then, the formatting was bad. There are a lot of horses in this book, and every time one of them is mentioned by name, it was in cursive. Why on earth? Because they’re not people? But every time Dundee is mentioned, his name isn’t cursive. I thought it really halting. Also, the ellipses Jones uses have nine dots, instead of three. Does that make them more ellipsis-y? I’m also pretty sure that “Omigod” is not an actual word. Why not just write “Oh my God”?
First let me say I'm not big into Mysteries but I LOVED this book. I read it in less than 24 hours. It had Cowgirls, Cowboys, a bit of Romance, a bit od mystery and a bit of FUN!

Humor, suspense, and a little romance make this book a must read for anyone who enjoys tales of intrigue and plot twists to the bitter end!
I was prepared to criticize that this romantic suspense was a bit top heavy on the romance and light on the suspense. It seemed so cut and dried as to who the culprit was that it didn't seem like much of a challenge but in one final plot twist, I was proved wrong.
Samantha is a gorgeous country vet who has all the cowboys falling at her feet. When she runs into her arch nemesis - the boy who pulled her pigtails in first grade and continued to torture her all through high school - after returning from college she is surprised to find that he has aged like a fine wine. I guess they don't teach cowgirls that when little boys tease and torment little girls, the boys usually have an ulterior motive behind wanting the girls' attention.
The romantic plot was the usual fare - boy meets girls, they fall deeply in lust, girl ticks boy off, boy retreats to lick his wounded ego, etc. Throw some humor in with hot cowboys and you have the perfect combination for a story to curl up with on a chilly evening and find several hours of entertainment.
This was a sweet romance. Sam is one of the vets in town and her companion is her dog Dundee. She has to help Cheyenne with some strange things happening to the horses he takes care of. His boss is selling of some land and others to not wish for this to happen so they take matters into their own hands.
Sam and Cheyenne went to school together and were not friendly. They instantly feel a chemistry and of course Sam tries to fight it. There are a few misunderstandings along the way. The one good thing about this book, I was kept guessing until almost the end which is good. The characters are ok there were a few that could have been left out, but over all not a bad read.
Love this story. It was fast, funny, and full of life. The characters are interesting and the author allows them to be real in the story. She doesn't turn them into carbon copies of so many other characters in other books. She allows the characters to cuss, speak as I would to others, and sometimes they are not politically correct. Exactly like real people. Her romantic interests are going slow and realistic. Not like other stories where they fall in love in a minute. This couple is checking each other out, getting to know each other again-as adults-because time has a way of improving things. Can't wait for the next story.
I'd give this book three stars. Cute story, romantic. Would have liked when Cheyenne and Sam got back together, Cheyenne telling her how he knew about Luke and didn't want to loose her or how jealous he was, something to show how much he cared, more time with them together at the end, but overall a well written story, loved the characters.
Cute, fun, quick read. I really enjoyed this westerny romance. Samantha Kendrick was a great go-getting character. I did find that it was lacking in descriptions. Critical pieces of information about secondary characters were missing for more than half the book.
Overall I would rec this book for someone looking for a cute quick read.
If you're looking for an original, action-packed romance, this is not it. The author has no skills in foreshadowing whatsoever. The interaction between characters is definately over exaggerated. Reading this left me wanting to punch a wall. Seriously! It was that bad. The only positive was her slight character development. Slight.
The book did have a good story and some suspense, but one part that was hard for me the main character"s name was Samantha but was called Sam and the boy she grew up and went thru school with was named Cheyenne and it keep confusing me that Sam was the guy and Cheyenne the woman and they developed a love interest so the names were used together a lot, confusing.
I absolutely loved this book! The story was romantic and fun. I gave it 3 stars because of the way the book ended. I would have liked to have known more of their story, like what happens next. I just felt cheated with the ending just stopping and not giving me more.
Quick, cute read... I loved the feisty vet with her quirky friends and crazy family, complete with a "Tim-the-Toolman Taylor" father. Loved, I repeat, loved the dog. The guy who gets his butt kicked totally deserved it and then some. I enjoyed it for a read on a night of sleeplessness.
It started off pretty cheesy but ended nicely. I liked the story and enjoyed the characters. I was also shocked when the bad guy was revealed. Good afternoon read.
