The author promised us this book would have "a climax that will leave you breathless and wanting more." Wow, did it ever!

The Orginial Sin is the third book in the Skye Morrison Vampire series. Ms. McCoy has outdone herself once again.

We see a whole new side of Skye this time around. Her life has been turned up-side down with one challenge after another over the past month and a half and it is all starting to catch up with her. On top of that, she is faced with falling for two men who might as well be brothers.

Things heat up and tempers fly. Hearts are broken, trust is shattered, and restrained lust reaches it's boiling point. With an enemy of old stalking Skye, she and the vampires she love are faced with life changing choices.

In Original Sin Skye is dealing with the aftermath of her being kidnapped and tortured by the father of all vampires Amun. She was kidnapped and tortured and she never broke but that still doesn't mean she wasn't affected in a way. She has these nightmares and she is becoming increasingly cranky and moody. She is lashing out and the gang is worried about her.

She is still at Archers mansion with Jameson and Archer. She is still in love with the two men and she has not decided what to do. She wants to chose one but who will her heart pick because Jameson is everything she wants and needs but there is definitely sexual tension between her and Archer. As she struggles with her feelings for both men she gets even more moodier because she wants them both but are they up to sharing?

The gang is trying to help her but something is different about her since she was rescued. She senses it and the gang senses it to. They are on the hunt for Amun and they want to destroy him because he is as evil as evil comes and he wants to do something with Skye and the gang has not figured out what it is.

What will happen to Skye? Will she continue to be tormented even though she is home and in the arms of Jameson? Why does Amun want her and what can she give him? Will Archer win Skyes heart and her bed? Man this thoird book had me at the edge of my seat screaming at the book like a lunatic. Man if a Kindle could talk back it would have told me to shut the hell up! Yes this is that kind of book and we have to wait a year for the next one. Man am I going to miss Jameson. Skye can have Archer but I want Jameson ;)

Well, I spoke too soon. I should have known better than to expect someone to take a different route, hell I'd have been ok if she kept both of them but of course not lets get rid of the nice sweet guy and go with the controlling asshole, because you know he, of course, loves you enough to make up for the horrible things he did to you. So sad. I'm still enjoying the lore in the series and the supporting characters are great but I'm heartbroken that its just like every other book in this genre now.

After book 2, I couldn't wait to get to this one! Skye's traumatic experience has obviously changed her... The father of all vampires, Amun, has been visiting her in her dreams and she is terrified with good cause too! Jameson is being supportive as usual but she can't help her attraction to Archer... this installment was just as entertaining as the previous ones!

Skye Morrison is a twenty-three year old woman who is on the top of the world. Getting the best job you could imagine, finding out vampires are real and falling for two of them, but after being kidnapped and tortured by the “Original” first vampire, now she is asking herself if she should even be in this world that she didn’t even knew existed until a little over a month ago.

Skye is having a hard time coming to terms with being kidnapped and trying to go on with her life like it was before. Being forced to live with vampires until they can find Amun and kill him she is now not able to go anywhere by herself. This includes her and all the other vampires in the family.

Skye and Jameson have made it official and are head over heels with each other. Skye got her crush, but she is still has feelings for Jameson’s brother/maker Archer. (WHAT DOES A GIRL DO!)

Since being kidnapped and almost dying, Skye has been having nightmares starring Amun. He comes to her in her dreams, and every time she wakes up screaming. Keeping her dreams of Amun a secret from Jameson and Archer is getting harder to do.

After waking up one night in a panic, Skye goes to Archer and tells him what has been happening. With the secret out, Archer has no choice but to surprise an attack of Skye to make sure she isn’t a Trojan Horse for Amun. The vampires literally mind rape Skye to see if she is a Trojan. Skye once again is knocking on Heaven’s door thanks to a vampire.

After being forcibly held down and having the vampires enter her mind without her permission, she no longer can trust any of them, which include her own boyfriend Jameson. Breaking up with Jameson and not talking to the other vampires in the house, Skye secludes herself and falls into a depression.

With Skye not feeling safe and not trusting them she ask to go back to her own home with a guard, but soon everything turns more upside down for Skye. What more can go wrong in this girl’s world?

Just like the previous two books, The Original Sins was just as good and filled with ups and downs. A lot of questions get answered, but were also left with a BIG question at the end. You may find yourself like I did saying “OH MAN, NO!” Lol. I felt for Skye, she lost trust in everyone around her and had no idea who she could turn to. In The Original Sins we FINALLY get some Skye and Jameson fun… Like always the characters are just as funny, making you wish you had some friends like them. J.L. McCoy left us with TO BE COUNTINUED…. And I can’t wait to sink my fangs into the next book, to see what the hell is going on with Skye. Once again I give this book Five GOTHIC stars!!!

QUOTES FROM THE BOOK:

“You guys just aren’t fair, between your vampire pheromones and your gorgeous good looks, we humans just don’t stand a chance.”- Skye

“I’m not staying Archer, I can’t trust you not to hurt me again if it serves whatever purposes you decide to come up with that day. I want nothing more to do with you…with any of you. I’m done with vampires. You all have done nothing but bring me pain since I met you.”- Skye

“This isn’t the girl I fell in love with. My sweet, giving, patient, loving, caring, fun-loving Skye disappeared when you were kidnapped. I’m so scared I’ll never get her back.”-Archer

~My Review~

J.L. McCoy has done it again! She goes above and beyond my highest expectations. I think to myself when an author writes a series of books, "How can this author come up with more prerequisites, creativity, artistry and vision?"
Yet she does it again...and again....
In this third installment of "The Skye Morrison Vampire Series," J.L. McCoy takes us on a continued ride of intense, enthralling, page turning fascination.

Skye Morrison is still living with her boss Archer Rhys. He wants to keep her safe from Amun, (the father of all vampires). Amun held Skye captive and tortured her something fierce in "Sins of the Father." In this book Amun is back in a remarkable way. He comes to Skye in her dreams....Question is.....Is Amun really communicating with her through her dreams or not?

There are so many revelations that I refuse to give up in my review. If you are big fan like I am...then you know why.

I could give you more but it will just ruin the profound and brilliant story line that Mrs. McCoy has once again pulled out of her imaginative mind.
I am beyond impressed with the ending. She leaves me breathless and wanting more. Spring cannot come fast enough for my Skye Morrison Vampire Series fix.
YOU ROCK

I am rating this series as a whole and not book by book.

I am always excited when I hear about a new series. Especially a vampire series. My first one was the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. After that, I was hooked. I find such great pleasure in knowing there are continuations to such wonderful books!!

This series got better and better. From book one, Blood of the Son, to this book, J.L. takes us on a action packed ride that doesn't disappoint.

In this final book, Skye can't seem to catch a break. If it isn't one enemy it's another. The Dark Ones all wants a piece of her. I see more and more that there are people who use her in order to gain power. But, there is one things good going for her; Archer. Each and every time I read about him, I fall in love all over again. What a piece of man!! Let me say that this book is not for the immature!! It is very sexy and hot so if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the fire!!

Skye is a very good character. She is stubborn but she loves with all her heart. She is surrounded by good friends and plenty of love, even if her life isn't as normal as it should be. Archer is very sexy and determined. His love for Skye is astounding and I would give both my legs for it :) Dean is a riot!! I love that he is always giving Skye "another option" even in front of Archer. It makes me laugh!! He is always causing trouble but always makes sure he does it in front of Archer.

The action scenes in all of these books are great. They keep me on the edge of my seat and make me want more. I always feel satisfied when I finish one of these books. I always feel like all the loose ends are tied up and I can start the next book without being in the dark. That is a lot to say. Some writers feel like leaving loose ends make you want to read the next one more and that isn't always true. It could turn me off from finishing. But not this series.

Congrats to you J.L. for such a wonderful series. I read each one and loved each one. They were passionate and exciting. Phenomenal writing and seamless delivery each and everytime! I am definitely a new fan!!

Reel me in, I'm hooked! I'm going all out here and straight up giving max dandies to J.L for an AMAZING series thus far.

Blood of the Son had me interested. Skye's story and her transition in life from recent college grad to newly-introduced to the lives of Vampires in Austin, TX set the tone for a series that can be long lived. Sins of the Father drew me in even further into Skye's world and the connections she has, both established and new. The Original Sin left me hooked and drooling for more. The characters keep getting more interesting, the drama escalates, and the sexual tension is nearly unbearable! Legacy of Blood had me flinching, groaning, cheering and crying.

J.L has managed to create a Vampire series that can be as creatively deep and rich as the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series. The lore of the Vampires in the Skye Morrison series is fresh and steeped in holy tradition. The descriptions used in the books are vivid and fluid. J.L has created a cast of characters that are unique and perfectly honed. Skye is your perfectly flawed leading lady! The themes of family, friendship, growing up, love, good vs evil, stereotype vs realism, and strength of character play in each book. The use of music throughout the series is very well done. Not only does J.L mention music often, she gives you a mental soundtrack to hum along to while you read.

This reviewer was blown away by the fresh, vivid, sexy, alluring, entertaining, and deep story laid on paper to date. Keeping length of review in mind, I can only close by saying this is a MUST READ if you love the paranormal. You get a fresh concept into the world of Vampires, Werewolves, and more as well as some good erotic scenes. J.L has laid a very solid foundation for a series that can go on for many, many more books. I'm thirsty for more!!! Thank you SO MUCH for putting this world into print.

P.S. I ♥ Trey to pieces!!!!

"The Original Sin" is another good read in the Skye Morrison Vampire Series. In this third installment, Skye's dreams continue to be invaded by dreams controlled by Amun. He refuses to release her until he is ready and she is not sure what to make of terror it causes her. She does not share the content of her dreams with her vampire friends nor does she share how often they occur. Yet, it is beginning to take a toll of her moods.

When Skye runs into Archer's bedroom naked after one of the dreams she is forced to come face to face with the truth. Archer is suspicious and probes her dreams and her mind against her will. When that does not yield the result he desires, he uses of of the other vampires to search her blood for the truth. This causes Skye to have a minor heart attack and almost kills her. She feels violated in the worse sort of way and ends up breaking off her relationship with Jameson, giving her two week notice to Archer and vowing to go to back to her own home.

As Skye tries to finish out her two weeks at The Mausoleum, her temper continues to flare out of control and the vampires are sick and tired of it. To make matter worse, Jameson senses Skye's increasing attraction to Archer and he feels unjustly treated. Of course, he is right. Jameson did not inflict the pain associated with the invasion of her privacy, it was Archer; yet, she continues to crave him. Even Skye's dog Styvi Nix wants to spend more time with Jameson than her. She just cannot seem to know who she is anymore.

After a special evening of getting drunk with her family and friends, Skye is awakened to train with Hagan. When he throw a blade her way, the unthinkable occurs catapulting Archer and her vampire friends into making a decision that will change her life forever. Oooooooh, what a delicious cliffhanger!

Series Review: Books ONE to THREE
Reviewer: Justine
Rating: 4.5/5 Fairies

Skye Morrison Vampire series, by J.L. McCoy, consists of Blood of the Son (book #1), Sins of the Father ( book #2), and The Original Sin (book #3) and the recently released Legacy of Blood (review out very soon!). This series floored me! I was sucked in (pun intended) from the very beginning with book one and was screaming “OFF WITH HER HEAD” (that would be J.L. McCoy’s head I was looking for) by the end of book 3! Even though they were all decent size books at just under 250 pages each, I gobbled them down in the record time of a day and a half.

With all this awesome there is of course a catch. Sadly, Miss McCoy committed a cardinal Justine sin in two of the three books! The ending had no conclusion! I got to the last sentence turned the page..…… and my e-reader smacks me across the face with a blank page!!!!! I was all "Holy Cliffhanger Batman!!” I am giving this series an overall 4.5 fairies! But warn you that you may want to buy both book 1 and book 2 at the sometime to avoid cliffhangover. I unfortunately will not recover from my book 3 cliffhangover till the next book Legacy of Blood which is available now.

The Original Sin is book three of the Skye Morrison Vampire Series. Skye has recently learned of vampires. In fact, she is in an emotional love triangle with two of them. Life for her has been turned inside out in recent weeks, and in this third installment, the reader learns the effect this new life has had on Skye.

Skye’s character takes a much darker turn from her usual self in this latest novel. Although I still like her, there were a couple of moments when I wanted to knock her upside the head! The reason for this transformation is Amun, the father of all vampires. We learn quite a bit about Amun in this book, and I think he makes a wonderful villain.

McCoy pretty much had me drawn in from the beginning with this read. She dives right into the storyline, and makes things interesting right from the start. The book on a whole has a much darker air than the previous two, and it is much more emotional. I absolutely loved the ending of the book, and once again it was a cliffhanger. Big things are in store for Skye, and I can’t wait to see where McCoy takes her story!

"The Original Sin" by J.L. McCoy is the third book in the "Skye Morrison Vampire Series". In this installment Skye has been turned up-side down and trying to pull together the pieces of her life that have been ripped to shreds after being kidnapped and tortured by Amun, the father of all vampires. She also has to deal with what's happening to her physically and emotionally.

On top of that, she struggles with her split feelings and the raw sexual tension with her lover, Jameson Doyle and boss Archer Rhys.

Loved this book, couldn't put it down. It's full of drama, tension and hotness.

This Series just gets better and better...I think "The Original Sin" is the best book of the Series so far.
Altough I had some suspicions about Skye's changing, I was so surprised at the end of the book. Just can't believe it ends like that, what a cliffhanger...it will leave you wanting more. Can't wait for the next installment, I need to know what happens.

Looking forward for the next book in this Series, I highly recommend this!!

Third installment in Skye's new life with the vampires. Mrs. Mccoy does it again - love this book. Skye has been rescued from Amun and now is trying to cope with it. She is still living with Archer and the rest of the vamp pack till they can find Amun. Dealing with PTS (though Skye would denie that) and vamps - got her hands full. She is having nightmares at first about the kidnapping and then they progressively get much worse when an unexpected guest keeps popping up in them. Jameson and Archer are still her flavors of the year (don't blame her at all though-yummy!!!)- though some of this dynamic may be changing. She seems to be very on edge (like PMS to the hundreds) around everyone (very unlike herself) and this makes for a very tense and unstable environment. The growing conflict between her and the vamps come to a unexpected turn at the end of the book - leaving you wanting more. I can't wait till the next book.

Ok, this was book 3 that I started reading 10 minutes after finishing book 2 (just enough time to refill my coffee). When I finished reading this book my first thought was "she (the author) did not just do this to me... she ended book 3 like this?" Anyway to my horror I discovered that I have to wait for next year spring for the next book? Nearly had a fit, spring here is in September, was extremely relieved to know she lives in the States, spring comes earlier.

Anyway now on to my review, Skye Morrison is a sweet character, she's easy going and ready to take what life hands out to her, she is extremely likeable and I enjoy her character. Jameson and Archer are really great and I enjoyed meeting the rest of the family. I enjoyed the action and all the less than pleasant situations in this book and then some of the more pleasant ones. Anyway a great read and I am really looking forward to the next book.

Welp, J.L. has outdone herself AGAIN.

With this installment, Skye has completely changed - her entire personality...it's like she shut down after the horror she was rescued from in book #2. She was up/down/happy/angry/horny. She flips back and forth on her views on vampires, as she tries to figure out a way to deal with everything.

KINK! REAL SUPER HOT YUMMY KINK in this one! Only later to find out that it's only a manipulated dream was a bit of a let-down, i won't lie...but then again, i do have something for the man the kinkiness was with.

Amun seems to have taking a liking to Skye...It's odd, and completely fits with the psycho-crazy-nuts mentality of a bajillions old crazy vampire.

CLIFFHANGER!! i love me a good ole fashioned cliffhanger...

Please excuse me while i go throw myself into book #4 now :)

A 2* as goodreads rates that as it being OK, which is what it was for me.

Skye's world really holds no appeal for me anymore as it all just seems too good to be true.
Great job, sexy bf, a group of hot men who all love her or want her and shes young and beautiful.
There's nothing relateable about her which is why I feel so unnattached to the story.

Think my biggest issue is the male vampires, their interractions with her and each other just don't seem believable. Their old, brave and wise but simper around her as though her being brave and human is amazing and they've never seen anyone like her before which I doubt with their ages.

*Spoiler* Even as a Vampire she's the best and like nothing they've ever seen before. Too perfect and unrealistic.

I've read upto now but think i'll be leaving this series

Yep all that stuffed into one book. I can't wait to get to the next book so that's my review for this on! Just fabulous again! Full of details that separate it from other books! I still can close my eyes and see it all so clearly!!!

I was given this book I exchange for a honest review

This is the third book in the series and Skye is having issues trying to figure out which hottie she wants in her life. Since the kidnapping, she has been struggling to regain her normal pattern of life. However, once you step into the realm of the supernatural, normal takes on a whole new meaning. Her life as she knows it will never be the same.

I purchased this book because I had to see where the story was leading me and I have to say that this author is just cruel. LOL! I love where it is heading and can't wait till the next one comes out!

Original Sin - Book 3 - 5 stars
Oh things are getting interesting now!!! Skye has been through so much in a relatively short time. Her world has been flipped upside down and tossed around. The adventures are just beginning.
Everyone is trying to maintain a sense of normalcy while Amun is still on the loose. Skye however deals with things a whole lot differently. Read and find out just how she, Jameson, Archer, and everyone else from The Mausoleum handle all the events.
And the twist at the end will have any reader sprinting to get to book 4!!

Ultimate betrayal

After Skye finally confides in someone about her dreams with Amun she is completely betrayed by people she thought cared for her. Because of their actions she takes it out on the one person who has always been there for her and has saved her more than once. Good things never last I guess. The ending will leave your mouth hanging with the ultimate cliffhanger.

The cliff-hanger ending made up for the deficiencies throughout the book. The series is an attempt to be an edgier Amanda Hocking 'My Blood Approves' series, but the character development isn't consistent and I struggle to be sympathetic to the main character. Like I've said before, I can't tell if she's an alcoholic or just a self-centered slut......don't expect miracles here. I'll give the next book one more chance for a series redemption due to the Book #3 cliff-hanger but then I'll move on.

It would have deserved five stars if not for Skye waffling back in forth between Jameson and Archer so much. It's the third book and she still can't stick to a guy. I myself, is team Jameson. Otherwise, the book was awesome. The reactions in this book were much more genuine that previous books. The author sets up a deliciously creepy world of vampires and mystery.

definitely a cliff hanger to remember. i loved this book i still get a bit confused with the Gallic but it doesn't detract from the story line too much. there is alot of pain, heartache and anger in this story. its well written and addictive definitely a must read series so far looking forward to the rest.
