Ms. McCauley has a strong understanding of the human condition in the modern world of today. Her characters are real, will make you laugh and cry. Her heroes are sexy, sensitive men and her heroines are strong and independent but love with their whole being. I highly recommend all of her books.

The Truth is a 'hold onto your tissues' kind of tear jerker. The main protagonist, Lexie Wayne, loses her best friend to cancer and adopts her friend's son as an infant to keep him out of foster care. She suffers another loss that she hasn't been able to get over when a new man comes into her life and takes not only her breath away but her heart too.

Lexie stumbles onto some shocking revelations from her friend's past that she cannot deal with for fear of losing everything she loves in this world. There is so much heartache in this story that I cried along with Lexie as she tries to deal with each new problem.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to the romance lovers out there who enjoy a good cry along with an engrossing story.
