From the writer of Dark Season, the entire first series of Lupine Howl books is now available in one volume. Total word count is over 180,000 words.
Arriving in London, penniless and alone, Jess finds herself forced to live on the streets. She soon encounters Duncan, a mysterious man who seems to be caught up with some very dangerous people. Duncan is a werewolf, forced to scavenge on the streets of the city and unable to break free from his master, a vicious, cruel man named Thomas Lumic.
But there's a war coming. Humanity is no longer prepared to tolerate the existence of the werewolves. When Duncan is captured, Jess has to travel deep beneath London to a subterranean city known as the Underworld, where she must find a way to free Duncan from Thomas Lumic. Then she and Duncan must head north, to Scotland, where the last werewolves face a final battle against a human army that is determined to wipe them out.
Along the way, Jess encounters some truly hideous and bizarre creatures, including the haunting Flesh Weavers, the vicious Loom People, the mysterious Wormwood, the hideous Golvs, and a flesh-sucking little boy who rules a circus of fear.

Lupine How: The Complete First Series is a collection of the first 8 books to the Lupine Howl series by Amy Cross, Author of the Dark Season Series, it is over a whopping 180,000 words. I started reading this for my 2013 reading challenge on Kindle but it ended up being part of my 2014 challenge instead. Started July 29, 2013 Finished October 5th, 2014. :)
I give it a 4.5 stars This isn’t because of the books themselves but more because a 8 book series collection is massive a took me ages to read. Overall I really enjoyed the stories and loved the characters cuz they were great and were key to keeping me involved in the story. Following the story of Jess and Duncan was really exciting once you get into the over 180,000 word collection which is filled with many adventures from hidden underground cities to man-eating mermaids :)
Ooh I liked this - and I immediately bought the second series that I'm currently reading.
I bought this series after reading Asylum - and then realised that I should have read Dark Season first but I really don't like books about vampires and Lupine Howl was strong enough to stand by itself.
The story is weird but fascinating (especially the Underworld) and I am now used to the way the author writes (first person often unreliable narrators).
I look forward to reading other books by Amy Cross and might even give Dark Season a go. ;)
Loved that all the stories are combined! Also loved how the author gave us personal insights on some of these "monsters". Don't ever judge a book by its cover! I had felt several unanswered questions while reading, but they were all answered by the end of the book. Except for Jess. There is a lot go know about her. Maybe in the next book? Lots of twists throughout the entire book. I enjoyed reading this.
I was unsure about the Novellas put together to read as an entire book. But as I read I got into it and really liked it. Each novella had its own story while sticking to the main plot.
The characters however got monotone halfway through but in the last book really picked up.
A clever and well written book that took a different twist on the usual werewolf story....but I kind of felt that the author had many so many ideas that they would have been suited to their own books. I felt that crossovers into different genres gave it a slightly chaotic feel and lacked detail but overall this was an enjoyable read!
