Very interesting to find out which foods are high in carbs that I always thought were "healthy." While I don't tend to follow diets to a T, this has a lot of really great guidelines for thinking about what you eat. I've definitely noticed the lack of energy swings with a more soy protein-focused diet. There are also great guidelines about which vitamins and nutrients vegetarians and vegans may be missing in their diets.
I enjoyed the book for what information was provided. I have been feeling like we need to change our eating and include more vegetables... but not necessarily go vegetarian. His writing style was repetitive, which was disappointing because I continued to want more information. But he has great calculations for getting your exact protein rations per day. From my own studies his science is sound and I've lived the diet and found it to be sound as well.
I am a vegetarian and I enjoyed reading this book, but I think the author goes a little overboard at the amount of soy he recommends for a diet. I tried to follow this for about a week and it actually made me sick.
