This story was definitely hot. In fact, I might be on the phone this very minute trying to find this cruiseline so I can book my own One Plus One cruise! Don’t bother to tell me its fictional, it must be a reality somewhere, right?

Kay Dee Royal is a new to me author, but I think I am definitely going to add her to my list of authors I want to read more from. For under sixty pages, this short story really packed a punch. We have Lacinda, who has been tricked into a cruise – a sex cruise! And for some reason, her limo driver is the same as the steward who helps her onto the ship. And it doesn’t end there.

I really enjoyed this. It was a great surprise! There were a few sex scenes ranging from dirty-hot to sensual to romantic, and I enjoyed every one of them. The characters were all very likeable, although I would have loved to know them more in depth. Of course, the main characters, Blade and Lacinda were my favorite. But Travis and Mazie were full of surprises with every page turn. I’d be really interested to read their story, actually.

Overall, if you are looking for a quick read I recommend this. The scenery was beautiful with an island and a cruise ship. The sex was boiling hot. The bit of emotion we get to see was just the tip of the iceburg of what’s to come for this lucky couple.

Note: this is an adult book and contains mature situations

This is a spicy quick read for anyone that is looking for a fun escape. I read this book really quickly and all in one shot. It was more like a novella to me. I approach novellas and novels differently. When I am reading a shorter story, I am looking more for instant gratification and plot/action, and less on character development and nuances. This book delivers on that completely!

Lacinda wins a trip on a singles cruise. I really liked Lacinda and I felt like I understood her more than I expected to. Kay Dee Royal does a good job of explaining the characters motivations and emotions. I liked how she was a little slow to open up, but then once she did, she gave herself over completely.

As for secondary characters, I really liked Blade but his friend, that helped him plan everything, really got on my nerves. She just seemed to think that people were puppets. But that was really my only drawback with One Plus One. Other than her, I really enjoyed this book.

One Plus One is like taking a vacation. It is a fantastical escape. it is not deep or extremely detailed, but it was a lot of fun and a good read.

This book is definitely steamy! Off the chart steamy! Along with that comes some surprisingly emotional moments particularly where Lacinda is concerned. Having lost her husband on their wedding day it's fortuitous that she wins a cruise where all your sexual fantasies are encouraged. I liked seeing her transformation from a quiet and staid woman to someone more wanton.

I just wish she had connected to someone a bit more worthy. Blade is a wealthy man who's tired of women wanting him only for his money. Because of this he's leery of Lacinda. He pretends to be a totally different man so it's hard to see the real man behind the lies.

Because of my dislike of Blade I never really felt this was a love story. It's more of a lust story which works well with the fantasy-like feel of the storyline. With its likable heroine and decadently delightful sexual encounters I still found this a fun read. It's not big on substance but it's exactly what you want when you're wanting to have some vacation time of your own.

Today's review is on One Plus One by Kay Dee Royal

One Plus One is a Hot & Sexy short read that will most definitely save you money on your hot water bills! You, just like the decadent Blade, will need many a cold shower to get you through to the last page, and then some.

It's not the best erotic novella that I have read, but it is right up there along side them. It's written well and takes you right to the meat of things; pun intended, with characters that you want to undress and dream about. After all, who among us wouldn't enjoy a singles cruise where we could let our hair and have a little uninhibited fun? Or who doesn't need a little erotic pick me up?

One Plus One is a great addition to my library's erotica section.
