Rate this book
Guardian Angels?

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels (Hebrews 13:2)

Saved by Angels reveals how the Lord reaches out to all people in various ways, as proven through this deeply personal journey of an everyday man who overcame addiction and near-death through God’s supernatural intervention.

Scripturally sound, every page screams how much God loves you. You will see through spiritual eyes and a softened heart what your heavenly Father has done in your life to try to talk to you, touch you, and build a relationship with you.

Using a testimonial-style approach filled with numerous personal stories and answers to prayer, this expanded edition addresses seven ways God communicates with His beloved children:

Prayer Scripture Dreams and visions Other people The Holy Spirit Life circumstances Angels
This knowledge inspires all people to deepen their relationship with the living God as they realize that God's grace and mercy are not reserved only for those who have made all the right choices, can recite 100 Bible verses, or stand behind a pulpit----God's love is for everyday people, everyday!

I really love this book. I get something different everytime I read it. It is great as a spiritual journal and helps bring up important things to remember and important issues to address. I recommend this book to anyone who thinks they don't hear from God. It definitely helps me to listen better. Praise the Lord!

The Title Doesn't Do It Justice

Based on the contents of this book and the in-depth guidance into spiritual sensitivity and encountering God in our daily lives, I think the title doesn't do it justice but thats just my personal opinion. This book is definitely not a one time read because you will find yourself coming back to re-read your referrences, highlights and notes.

This is a decent read geared toward new and nominal believers. Straight forward, fairly doctrinally sound, if a tad dull for those who are looking to go deeper. Some of his testimony is compelling, wish he focused on his opening near death experience more.

I avoided starting this book when a friend let me borrow it because I was put off by the title and the cover. The tagline is a better overview of what this book is about - “to share how God talks to everyday people.” It goes through a series of different categories of how the author experienced hearing from God with examples from his life, including self-reflection journal questions and Scripture study questions to help readers consider the topics in their own life. Recommend for anyone who is open to considering whether God is waiting to speak more personally into their life!

I stumbled upon this book, but God!!

This book absolutely blessed me. I needed this. The Lord guided me to this book and made it possible to get it and read it and I recommended it to my daughter before even finishing it. This is an eye opener book. A God sent. God used Bruce Van Natta mightily.

Borrowed from a friend. Really makes one think...especially with all the turmoil happening around the globe today.
This book would be a fantastic addition to Bible study, reference guide, etc.
Inspired me to spend more time reading my Bible. ✌️

I loved this book and it impacted and strengthened my walk with God. Although my 24-year-old self would have greatly benefited from the stories, scriptures, and encouragement while I was still searching for God, my 46-year-old self (20+ years in the faith) still had a lot to drink in.

I downloaded the book randomly because it was free at the same time as my memoir. From a writing standpoint, I'll mention that the book could have benefitted from tighter editing to remove some of the parts that slowed it down. (I had to learn this the hard way, so no judgement!) ;-) But for a self-professed "everyday man" and a "non-writer mechanic" he produced such gems as:

"Because we are trapped in our mortal bodies here on earth and because we are not all-knowing like God, it is very difficult and sometimes impossible for us to see what God is able to accomplish despite the detours of heartache and tragedy in this life."

I mean, come on! That is some pretty powerful stuff for a non-writer. Go Bruce! (Go Holy Spirit!).

I'll also mention that - although this is prevalent throughout mainstream Christianity - I think it's misleading to have the "Sinner's Prayer" (I think it's called), followed by - "If you just prayed that prayer and meant it, it is settled. You are now a child of God and are in covent with Him." - when the Bible says, "Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved" (Mark 16:16) or "Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:36) Of course there are more scriptures about baptism, but the covenant happens in baptism, and it can mislead those searching to be reconciled to Christ if its importance is relegated to one of those "other things you should do."

What else. I liked Lori. She only had a shadow presence in the book, but I could see her gentle influence in all the ways she did not appear (i.e. harping on her poor husband to repent and change). This inspired me to be a more supportive wife. And finally, what I found so brilliant was how the author delineated the ways God talks to us. He has talked to me through prayer, and his Word, and visions, and dreams, and angels, and I've seen his miracles and divine protection ... but I never thought to outline it with such concision. I also know quite a bit about angels through the scriptures, but never thought about clarifying their different roles in God's Kingdom. That was illuminating.

This is a long review, but hopefully it shows how much I loved the book. It's just good nourishing "sweet bread" food for the soul.

Bruce Van Natta, a self employed diesel mechanic, was working on a Peterbilt logging truck on Nov. 16, 2006, when the truck fell off the jack and pressed him on the floor. With a few inches of air space between the axle of the truck and the floor, Bruce was practically cut in half.

This book is about how Bruce miraculously lived after the accident. Moreover, it features ways how GOD talks to people: through the process of prayer; through the Bible; through spoken words; through the Holy Spirit; through design and circumstance; through dreams and visions; and through angels.

I can say this is one of the best Christian books I have read so far. As a fellow sinner, I can relate to the author not only about reverting to my evil self repeatedly but also about the overwhelming love of the LORD as He takes me back again and again despite my sinful nature.

As my favorite excerpt from the book states:

"It still puzzles me how GOD can be so faithful to us when we are not always faithful to Him."

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would.
This is a wonderful book. When I read his story I was moved to tears about what he had endured. I could feel the presence of the Lord as I read about how the angels saved him. This book will bless you and truly make you believe that the Lord has His angels watching over us.

Loved this book!!!

The author was superb with his layout and writing of this book. I was stunned by what Bruce endured. The way God was displayed was exceptional and emotionally touching. I appreciate how God is being given the grand stage and not the events that unfolded.

A great book for beginner Christians to sink their teeth into. It lacks the depth needed for Christians who are seeking something more to bite into. Sometimes it is just nice to read and enjoy what God can do though. We all just need to feel good about His power and triumphs for us.

Best book I've read

This is the most interesting and powerful book I've read in a long time. It really bring across the point that God is with us and wishes us to be intimate and personal in our everyday lives. Through the holy spirit he speaks to us and wants what is best for us ,even when we ignored him .He never stop loving us and trying to save from our sinful nature. I like to thank the author for his poignant story and his relationship with God and how he explains how we too can be intimate with our saviour Jesus Christ. Thank You!

I liked this book. It is a true story about a mechanic and how God helped him throughout his life and, following a near death experience, he went into full-time ministry. It is bible based. He recorded the many times on his life that God rescued him and healed him of his drug addiction and dishonesty.

SAVED by Angels

This is one if the most helpful and challenging books I have ever read, I wish I had heard of it when it first came out. I learned so much and it has helped greatly I my everyday walk with God. I am much more aware of the love of God all around me, as well as the evil influences swirling all around me and how I can overcome them. Highly recommend.

Great basic overview and introduction to God. I know Bruce and this written just as he talks. He's earnest in sharing his stories and showing us how God speaks to everyday people if we choose to believe.

The portion of being saved by angels I had read in another book. However, I am delighted to have read the rest of this book since it chronicles a real life struggle with listening to God and the actually doing the will of God.

An interesting book about how God talk to us. Many times He uses Angels to give us messages, other times it may be dreams. We have to be open to His messages.
