In the sizzling world of Tilda’s erotic lesbian novella, Cate, her girlfriend, offers to capture the perfect cover photo. They had no idea this would reignite Cate’s lingering emotions for her ex-girlfriend, Julia. As Julia and her new partner Robin are invited to join them, the studio becomes a crucible of secrets, soaring tensions, and crumbling facades.
Brace yourself for a confined tale that delves into the depths of the human psyche and storytelling’s power. @lines_graphicnovel2023
What inspires me most is how filmmakers explore the human psyche—blending philosophy, psychology, self-reflection, romanticism, and the often unspoken complexities of emotion, identity, and memory.
I’ve written books like Gordafarid is a Queer and An Artery: A Love Letter to England, and created the graphic novel Lines. I also wrote Get Rich with One-Location Low-Budget Movies, a practical guide for fellow filmmakers who love minimal, character-driven cinema as much as I do.
At the heart of everything I do is a deep love for storytelling—and for storytellers...
I just read 'Lines' and, well, let's say that I feel the story sure could've had potential. But maybe a graphic novel wasn't its most ideal medium after all.
It wanted to be sucked into a story so bad, but it simply couldn't do that for me. It was a bland read.
I would've given 2 stars, but then came to realize the other reviews here appear to be fake... Which I find truly despicable. I am not sure if this is a commonly done thing on here, but definitely doesn't sit well with me. For it's those exact reviews that got me into buying this book in the first place.
I find that every character in this comic is really really interesting! The story is amazing and captivating too. My favorite part of the story is when Tilda getting jealous of Cate and Julia. From the start of the story, Tilda always look calm, but that part feels like "turning point" for her. Same goes for Robin, at first it feels like she was bullied by Cate, but at the end she became stronger and no longer bullied by Cate. I think Tilda and Robin have the best character development along the story.
