Treachery Ignites an Otherworldly Battle Between Good and Evil
Centuries have passed since the Coven of the Triad Witches, once charged with protecting the Scrolls of the Four Winds, was betrayed and their memories cast into darkness. They have reincarnated together in many lifetimes, but this time, one of their own intends to wield the power of the Scrolls herself. Sisters in magic with ties more binding than blood, they must face a dangerous journey to rekindle ancient powers and fulfill their true destiny.

Wing’s books create a transformational experience for the reader while incorporating a bit of the unexpected. Many say that her fiction has a sense of Karmic justice rendered within the realm of the unknown and that her non-fiction brings about a heightened awareness of the self and the world to enhance understanding of our own internal transformations.
Diane is an avid reader, bibliophile, lover of trees, and a lifelong learner. She and her husband are pet parents to a sweet little Shih Tzu mix and a Chihuahua.
I enjoyed this bewitching story from the beginning to the end! There are four beautiful and powerful witches who were born and taught to protect the scrolls of the Four Winds. Victoria the witch of the North turns to the dark side for power and turns against her sisters. After many years the witches join in battle against a demon. I highly recommend this book to readers who like stories about witches and paranormal. I won this book for free from a Goodreads Giveaway.
I believe the "right" books come into our lives at the right time. Whatever you are reading, feel its energy and see how it corresponds to your own life. So it happened, and I am not in the least surprised now though it did take by surprise at the time of happening, that Diane's book came to me just a week before I myself had to deal with unwanted energies and loose ends in my own life. And yes, it was something way more than a box with photos from the times long gone.
Reading the book I was reminded of the value of grounding and psychic protection: more than just reminded - I was taught how to do so, and taught in the very relaxing and conversational manner which is lacking, often, from the "ritual" of teaching. I learned basic principles of Magic: the energy you give out returns to you three times multiplied; the wisdom and answers are inside our own souls and we just need to get access to them and magic can help us clear that pathway along with the prayer; food and lifestyle alters our vibrations and much more.
Through the journeys and struggles through time, space, emotions and energies of the four girlfriends who also are sisters in Spirit and Keepers of the Scrolls of the Four Winds, I was reminded of basic and simple truths, that each of them was exposed to and shared with the rest of the world at the end of the book. For example, Alexis, through the Gateway of the Element of Water, received a message which contained the following part; I found it to be very true for myself:
"Emotional reactions reflect issues that must be addressed within the self. Maintain power by controlling your own reactions. The actions of others cannot be controlled, but your reaction can be. You are responsible for your feelings. Being overly sensitive creates limitations. Approach life from a centered position and see the world with a more objective eye."
Love, gratitude, friendship, discernment, sincerity and bonds of physical dimension on the callings of our eternal Soul. You will find it all in the "Coven", a book written with simplicity that draws your full attention to the luxury of the message, contained in between its pages.

...you must be wondering if this book helped me to resolve that issue in my life I mentioned in the beginning... while this novel did not teach me the fine details, it did help me to learn that there is nothing to be afraid of if you know the rules, follow them and approach life and all around you with love and gratitude for the lessons received. Diane Wing took the scary part of magic out and showed that there is nothing impossible for those with integrity, discernment and a couple of other "right" tools, all guided by the loving soul, always in the search for ways to learn and grow.
...indeed, I might as well read a couple of other books about Magic :)
Long ago there were four girls born to form a witches coven. Their purpose was to protect the ancient texts full of secrets. The girls were reincarnated over various centuries when they finally come together in New Hope, PA. The year is 2007.
Amira is now known as Victoria and she represents North and Earth. Iman is now known as Cassandra and she represents East and Air. Mina is now known as Alexis and she represents the West and Water. Uzma is now known as Macy and she represents South and Fire.
While the group finds their way back to each other, Victoria has something else in store.
When I first started reading this book from Loving Healing Press/Modern History Press, I was unsure as to why they would be promoting a book about witches.
Like everyone before us, we are given choices in life. It is up to us to decide what to do with those choices. Victoria made her choices for selfish, and mostly evil reasons.
The other three come together to help Victoria, they have not lost their faith. Now it becomes aware that this isn’t your average witch book.
We learn that for every action, there is a reaction. It may not always be what you want it to be, but it happens that way for a reason.
We learn that negative things don’t always have to be left negative. You can change it.
We learn that everyone has a purpose. Some may not know it, but we all have something great inside.
In time, we can forget bad things, but you must forgive.
Sometimes there is a particular author that your just "click" with. That author for me, is Diane Wing. I've read three of her books and have truly been amazed by each one. Each with a different story line and characters, but yet all very intriguing, relaxing, and always suspenseful.
This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys a story filled with suspense, magic and spiritual energies. Once again, Diane conveys her story to the world, while including magic and spiritual senses, but without the dark element that scares most. I personally am waiting patiently, but on the edge of my seat for her next book, whether a sequel to one already written or a new and powerful story in which to lose my self, if only for a few hours!
In this book it follows Victoria, who on her own quest for power started by her ancient tutor alienates herself from her rightful place. Throughout the book I caught conflicting emotions from Victoria as if she didn't want ultimate power any more she just wanted to belong but once you saw a flash of that it was gone and she was back to her old self.
At first I really liked poor Heather but as the book progressed she sunk to the levels of Ethan. Ethan I disliked from the moment he appeared. He gets what he deserves after trying to string along Heather by knowing if he openly rejects her she has the power to kill him. It is something some of us wish would happen to men in real life that only use women for sex and their own gain with no care for the woman's emotions.
This book had me wondering what would come next and almost had me cheating and reading the last page before finishing just to see where it will end, but I held strong and just kept reading from the edge of my seat. Diane Wing sneaks in life lessons in the story that's a good reminder for us all. I am glad to see Victoria triumph over the darkness in her life and get back to where she belongs.
I wanted to let you know how much I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book Coven. It was well thought out with people, plots, etc. You ended the book terrifically!!! The insight and information from chapter 13 on was unmistakably brilliant!!! Truly. Loved the ending...leaves the portal door open to another book...maybe? You really added dimension to the tale in more ways than one. Kudos!!! When I was with my meet-up group, I told them I was reading your book and thought they all should buy a copy because it was that good. Hell, it is awesome!!! Thank you Diane for such a fascinating and delightful book. You did a fabulous job! Hey people...come sit for a spell and bring a good potion to drink while you read cover-to-cover. You will not be disappointed.
This was a quick read. I enjoyed the plot for the most part, but some of the passages in the last few chapters were tedious to get through.
Overall, this was a good book for a rainy afternoon. I enjoyed the premise, and I appreciated the world Wing was able to create. I also appreciate that she used real books and historical events, it's something interesting to look into after leaving this story.
Amira, Mina, Iman, Uzma. They are the Triad witches from long ago, born and raised to protect the Scrolls of the Four Winds.
Once they were sisters in training, until one betrayed the others.
It’s been centuries since the betrayal, since Amira erased her sisters memories of what she’d done. Her lust for the scrolls and the power to rule the world proved too hard to turn away from and she stole them.
The sisters have lived through many reincarnations, but Amira is the only one who’s retained her memories through each life. She’s been waiting many lifetimes to bring them all together again.
Victoria – Amira, Alexis – Mina, Cassandra – Iman, Macy – Uzma. In present day they may have different names but they are still the Triad Witches. The binding spells cast upon them by Victoria, causing them to forget, are weakening. They’re starting to remember who they are and soon they will remember the betrayal.
Victoria has always regretted betraying the trust of her sisters and longs for the love and companionship she once had. She needs the others to help harness the power of the scrolls but she fears them also.
She wanted ultimate power, but vowed never to harm her three sisters unless it became absolutely necessary.
Victoria is still plotting and manipulating, but she’s also struggling with her inner demons, wanting what once was, yearning for it. She has never felt whole, felt loved, like when the Triad was together. The time will come when she must choose, world domination or love.
I became quite fond of Alexis, Cassandra, and Macy. Their witchly powers are portrayed in their daily lives and are their very essence of being. It was fun discovering how each ones powers showed in how they lived and worked.
Ethan I disliked right away. He is shallow and narcissistic. Not someone I cared for at all. There is another character that I liked at first, but grew to distrust. I’m sure this was the authors intent.
Victoria. Oh, what can I say. She’s a liar and a manipulator, doing whatever it takes to get what she wants. At first I was ambivalent about her, then I got mad at her, and then I felt such sadness for her. If you looked in the dictionary under lost, you’d find Victoria.
There is much to dislike about Victoria, but there’s also much to empathize with, perhaps because of the inner demons she struggles with. Her hunger for power and her longing for the love of her sisters is ripping her apart. She will have to choose one or the other.
Coven is about much more than witches and witchcraft. It guides you through friendship, betrayal, love, loss and regret. You will learn that nothing is final, bad choices can be changed, wrongs righted, and good can overcome evil. Love yourself, trust your heart, and others will love you too.
I was moved by Coven and it made me take a long look at myself. I felt there was a message for everyone in this story and I recommend this book to everyone as it has something for all of you.

Coven: The Scrolls of the Four Winds by Diane Wing. Witches, magic and other worlds are the themes of this book and also happen to be some of my favourite genres to read. This fiction novel about reincarnation and magic was definitely up my alley.
In ancient times four children are chosen to be born forming a coven, to protect ancient texts, secrets and therefore the universe with their varying gifts. Reincarnated over many centuries, these women each represent a direction and an element. Victoria formerly Amira represents the North and Earth. Iman now Cassandra represents the East and Air. Mina now Alexis represents the West and Water. Uzma now Macy represents the South and Fire.
Like all of us, these women have free will to use their gifts and abilities to do good or bad. Because of Victoria the other three women have forgotten their purpose but are still able to develop their magical skills and abilities, throughout time. They have chosen to use their gifts to help others, while Victoria has fallen pray to dark forces, causing the others to spend centuries reincarnating and not knowing what their true purpose is.
In this lifetime Victoria has her own reasons for wanting to bring their coven back together. Mostly for selfish & evil reasons. Is it too late for Victoria or can true friendship help with her redemption? The other three women Alexis, Cassandra & Macy have not lost faith in their old friend, Victoria. Can she turn things around and do the same for herself?
Lessons I learned from Coven: The Scrolls of the Four Winds:
-Every action has a reaction
-Even when we do negative things, there is always a chance to redeem yourself. The bad will not be forgotten but you can make amendments and do better going forward.
-There is a vast universe out there. We are not the only intelligent beings out there. Scary thought, to think otherwise.
-Everyone has a purpose and reason for being here. We may know it right away or we may spend a lifetime getting to know what it is or we may never know our purpose.
The story begins in ancient Mesopotamia with a powerful coven of 4 women known as the Triad Witches. Fast forward to present day, the Triad Witches have reincarnated together over many lifetimes; although mostly unaware of the ties that bind them. The sisters undergo a process of awakening and embark on a journey together, protectors of the Scrolls of the Four Winds.
I really enjoy Diane's writing style a great deal. Her use of description paints a very detailed scene that is remarkably easy to visualize. It is as though she has taken you by the hand and brought to each individual scene allowing you to witness the story first hand. She is very good at describing everything eloquently as her inner eye sees it and conveying that image to the reader.
This book is not only a beautifully crafted story, it also comes filled with lots of useful knowledge that can be applied to create light where there is shadow. There are a couple of chapters at the end of the book that I recommend that everyone go back and reflect upon occasionally. I've gone back and read it 3 times already. The information is highly beneficial and resonates with me strongly. Which brings me to another thing I love about Diane's work, she pours her heart and essence into her writing. I can only respond to that with love, love and more love.
This book serves as a reminder of the power of forgiveness and self acceptance.
This book is a true page turner! First, I love time travel books, they are on the top of my 'must reads.' Coven is a time travel book of mystic proportions! Reincarnation! Treachery! This book is MAGICAL!! I fell in love with the characters. I'm hoping to see them return (Diane? Maybe a part 2?)! The Coven has friendship that spans lifetimes. This is a book that fills you with hope and promise. With suspense and intrigue! I don't know how else to describe Coven. It's a feel good magical book!
