Explains the fundamentals of vegetable gardening, from selecting the right spot and planning the right layout to organic gardening and frost protection
This serves as a great resource for troubleshooting plant diseases, pest control, plant spacing, etc. I was drawn to it because the cover boasts of how-to steps for soil prep, composting, and other beginner tips and tricks. The book is very vague and definitely isn't step by step, which is what I really need. It's clear the author is very experienced and he speaks that way which is hard to follow and understand as a beginner not understanding his jargon.
Lots of great information on the whole vegetable gardening cycle - soil preparation, compost, protecting from pests, started seeds, and harvest. Natural, DIY, organic suggestions.
I read it when I started my first garden and I had glorious tomatoes and green beans.
