Tears of Heaven is the first of Zeigler's "Three Beyond Eternity" series. In the first of the series the reader will follow the journeys of both Chris and Serena into eternity. He describes the realms of the unknown as no other author has written in a book about the mysteries of the spirit worlds of heaven and hell.

The end times, some say, are fast approaching but the reality is, each of us may face our own personal end time more imminently than the "second coming". That truth alone will motivate readers to follow the intensity of Chris and Serena's trip into the presence of the Alpha and Omega and the opening of the Lamb's Book of Life.

I'm Ken Zeigler, author of the Tears of heaven series. I've been writing stories since junior high school; science fiction short stories mostly. I attended Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, way back when it was still called Shippensburg State College. I hold a masters degree in chemistry, and did my graduate research in quantum mechanics.... I openly profess Jesus Christ to be my personal lord and savior.
It wasn't always that way. The change in my life came about as the result of a near death experience when I was eighteen years old, during my freshman year in college. The circumstances of that experience were so remarkable that my life hasn't been the same since. Indeed, for me, the age of miracles has just begun.
I have taught chemistry, physics, and astronomy at both the high school and college level. Currently, I teach at University High School in Tolleson, Arizona. During my career in science, I've concentrated mostly on the study of asteroids, the tiny planetoids that circle the sun mainly between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. I have been an educational consultant for NASA on the Messenger Mercury Program.
I have a wife who I have been married to for 25 years. I also have two wonderful step-children. My professional writing career didn't officially begin until 1997, with the publishing of my first book; The Waters of Ulan, which was actually an off beat vampire story set in the South Pacific before World War II.
Now, I write only books with a Christian theme. Yet, I truly believe that these books will appeal to both Christians and non-Christians alike. Welcome to the new world.

A good read. A page turner. I did find the descriptions and very many pages about Hell too much. I got to the stage where I was saying out aloud with a groan, " ok, I get it...". Just a little too gross and had me wondering if I was going to be thrown into some orgy with too many details - thankfully that did not happen. Considering the many descriptive pages dedicated to Hell, I found the same level of detail about Heaven was missing. If everyone was at a premium age, why was the cat referred to as old? Mr Zeigler took risks of upsetting readers by taking liberty with Biblical characters, Gods plans and His absolute rules. However, it is fiction and the intended message came through. It is well worth the read to reconfirm for believers and to pose some serious questions to the non believer. The novel had higher than usual spell check and word check errors - this should be amended before another edition is published as it is a distraction. I will read the following books and am glad I came across this series. I do recommend it.

Overall, I the book was okay and look forward to reading the next two books in this series. At times, I found the character's dialogue tipping into the old-fashioned realm and I can surmise this is because of the age of the author(sorry!) (Serena waits by the telephone like a teenager) yeah, this happened when I was a kid, but now? Everyone has a cell. And I felt like at times, the author confused the more formal language of the angel with Chris, the main character. That again is a very minor thing. I did like how the angels had more formal archaic language. I mean after all, angels should be dignified-right!! Lots of action BUT to be honest, I almost put this down when the author went on and on and ON in grisly fashion about all the various torture methods that Satan performs on the damned. Most of us want to be uplifted while reading Christian fiction but to be fair, also scare us with the reality of the need for our salvation but Zeigler left an almost sadistic peeping tom quality to the descriptions and this may be very unpalatable to many.

Had to give up on this. It was too triggering. The story is good but I'm not well enough to deal with it.
