She can’t shift, but she can shake their world.

Takhini Wolves, Book 3

Caroline Bradley is having one hell of a week. Her wolf lover has sniffed out his mate, making her an instant free agent. Not only that, Takhini territory has been overrun with aggressive bear-shifters electing a clan leader, and the wolf pack is feeling the effects—pushing her diplomatic skills to the limit.

Tyler Harrison is a grizzly on a mission. If he’s going to win the majority of the bears’ votes, he needs one final a female companion. The only woman in town with influence over wolves, humans, and more bears than he’d like to admit, is Caroline.

Despite the sexual pull between them, though, Tyler’s not seeking a permanent relationship. And Caroline isn’t looking to be anyone else’s political pawn. But she should have remembered that when shifters are involved, changes happen in the blink of an eye.

Billionaire bear hero plus kick-ass human heroine equals a sexually volatile power struggle. Get ready for what might be the naughtiest game of tag that’s ever been played in the great outdoors.

You want to read this book.

1) It has wolf shifters.
2) It has bear shifters.
3) It is seriously fucking hawt.
4) No. I'm serious. H.A.W.T.
5) It's nominated for a RITA.
6) Vivian Arend is awesomesauce.

This book is a sexy, fun breath of fresh air. It's part of a series but you can read it alone. The Takhini series is one of those comfy worlds you can keep putting on like a friendly shoe. That means you can read it now because I've tempted your curiosity AND THEN THERE IS A HUGE WORLD TO GO DIG INTO.

Also, that bit about the tag in the warning? No joke. Worth the price of admission alone.

Stop reading this review and go buy the book.

P.S. I think I almost have her convinced to write gay bear shifters. Then I will die twice with a smile on my face. (She already says there's lesbian shifters on the docket, maybe probably hopefully...)

Vivian Arend is an excellent author. I have enjoyed everything that I’ve read of hers. When I was asked to read this book, I of course jumped on it and dove right in. I’ve been on a Paranormal kick lately and this definitely fit the bill.

I’ve read the first two books in this series, and recommend you read them too. It’s not completely necessary but you will understand the back story better if you do.

The Takhini Wolf world is amazing. I love and can’t wait to see what else happens here. When the author creates a new world for their book, I get so excited.

Caroline is a strong, independent human woman who lives amongst shifters knowingly. She is basically the Alpha Bitch. She takes care of all the packs and Alpha’s problems. She never has time for herself though.

Tyler is exactly what she needed. Ms. Arend knows how to make you have ahhhh moments about the heroine and hero. These two just fit. I hope the upcoming book, which I’m assuming will be Evan and Amy’s will have updates about these two. I really liked them and they are my favorite couple so far in this series.

If you are looking for some steamy shifter reading, don’t hesitate to pick up this book or any of the Takhini or Granite Lake Wolves books. They are all steamy.

Diamond Dust is book three in the Takhini Wolves series by Vivian Arend, and this series just gets better with every book! This one is a tad bit different than the others, because it is between a bear shifter and a human who grew up with the Takhini pack. I loved this peek into the world of the bear shifters.

Caroline Bradley has been in a sexual relationship with the Alpha of the Takhini pack, and that sexually charged association has come to the end with him sniffing out his mate. Her week has not been going too great with the preparations for the big politically fueled bear shifter conclave. The absolute last thing she expected was to feel this immediately intense attraction to one of the Alpha Grizzlies.

Tyler Harrison is a favorite to win this conclave, but he has to overcome quite a few obstacles in his way one major one being his single status. He has to find him a female companion that can handle the political aspects of the coming week. After a strange first meeting in his hotel room, he is shocked to be set up with Caroline by his brother. How can this human be the woman for him?? But his bear wants her bad!!

This is a great quick read. I absolutely love that Caroline is such a strong woman, and her attraction to Tyler doesn’t dim her spirit in the least bit. She isn’t afraid to stand up to the shifters in her life be them bear, wolf, or any other animal, and Tyler is drawn to that fierceness in her. Often times when you read a book with two strong characters in the lead, the woman ends up losing some of her spark as they reach their HEA, but that is so not the case in this one. I highly recommend this book and series. :)

DIAMOND DUST may just be my favorite book in the series! I’ve always liked Caroline, the human dating the wolf alpha. They had a good arrangement, being together until he found his mate. She is tough enough for the job, tough enough to handle the wolves, and human enough to surprise other shifters with all of her knowledge of their world.

When the bears come into town, that brings along Tyler. He’s the typical bear, which I love. A bit self centered, expectant that things will go his way, not the brightest when it comes to wooing women. But he’s extremely hot and possessive.

From their first very unconventional meeting, Caroline and Tyler have excellent chemistry. They have an easy way around each other, with just the right amount of bickering and sexual tension.

DIAMOND DUST was a short but extremely enjoyable read. A great addition to the series and the perfect start in the search for our lovable alpha’s mate. Can’t wait!

This is the story of Caroline meeting and getting her man. We knew that it was always gonna take someone special to capture Caroline's heart as she is a special kinda girl, after all there aren't many humans that can stand up to creatures in the paranormal world and see them shake in their boots. Tyler is that special man/bear shifter who was too busy shaking/quaking somewhere else to worry about shaking in his boots, and that sexy creature sure had Caroline doing some shaking of her own, if you know what I mean ;)))

This has got to be my favourite of the series so far and it comes in at a strong 4.5 Stars - I am anxiously waiting for Evans story as think that has the potential to be pretty special too.

Caroline is girl friday and temporary girlfriend of Tahini pack alpha . A human among shifters, her hot and heavy relationship is cut short when Tyler sniffs out his mate. Insert Tyler, a Were-bear, in Tahini, running to lead the bears in a political race. He enlists Caroline's help to navigate the world of shifter politics and quickly realizes he wants more from the no-nonsense human. Sparks fly between the two in no time, but Tyler learns that he has to put it all out there if he wants the feisty human.

Good story. I only read this book out of the series and not books 1 or 2 just yet, and didn't feel as if I missed a lot. I "read" this in audio format and the narrator did a good job for the male voices but her voice for the female MC was a bit....grating.

FTC disclaimer... I have worked with Vivian Arend on many occasions and consider myself a fan. I didn’t get paid for the review but the book was provided by the author for an honest review.

I have always loved Viv’s wolfie series and I have to say that this particular series is definitely my favourite of all the series. I approached this one with a mixture of trepidation and excitement because, although this book is set in the wolf world, this one is all about bears. Turns out I fricking love bear shifters. Grumpy, blunt and oh so sexy, the bears in this series all held my attention. Viv has stated that she *may* do some more books with bears in them... I’m down with that!

Although these books could be read as standalones, I recommend that you read the other two. Only then will you understand certain reactions that the characters have. Wolfies have insta-mates and that insta-mate can only be another wolfie... it’s something to remember when going into this book. Now bears, bears have no such issues. Bears just have to make sure that both human and bear are happy with the mate in question....

I have loved Caroline in this series so far. A human in the shifter world, she has had to come up with some serious skills to survive in a world of teeth and claws. She is a very strong lady but also quite good with the whole negotiation thing; I enjoyed the way she dealt with the characters in this book. I felt a little sorry for her when she and Evan parted ways, but then she meets Tyler and all hell breaks loose. I adored the way she embraced her steep learning curve when it came to dealing with the bears. She could have been a complete pain in the arse but she bent for him and adapted. Now don’t get me wrong, she didn’t change the core of her personality (and she gave him hell throughout the book) but she did at least try to follow the social protocols. She is one of my favourite heroines in the wolfie world.

Tyler was such a hoot. Completely inept at wooing Caroline, he kind of blundered his way into her good graces. He was oh so Alpha (i.e. bossy and sexy) but, in terms of dealing with Caroline, he was completely out at sea. He insulted her, was a little bit overbearing and he pretty much lied about his identity. It may sound like he is a bit of an arse of a hero but in fact it was endearing and hilarious...I chuckled all the way through my flight. When he turns on the sexy, oh my, it’s hawt! He is a bossy bear who knows what he wants and it was quite entertaining to watch his pursuit of her as he is so obviously used to getting exactly what he wants. Of course what he wants is her in his bed until he grows bored of her.... yeah, that’s the way these books go (!).

There is a little cliff hanger for Evan’s book as he scents his mate in the beginning of this book. I love Evan and I only hope his mate will be someone wildly inappropriate who will give him hell! I can’t wait for his book.... Alpha heroes are always so yummy!

As with all of Viv’s books, this one is a hot and steamy romp that left me needing a cold shower. With a bossy bear and a feisty heroine, this book made me laugh and swoon all the way through. I haven’t decided whether I want my own wolfie or my own bear yet... J

Caroline I thought for a minute there was going to turn out to be a bear shifter that didn't know she was a shifter. Manly from the conversation that Shelly had with Frank. It took me a minute to realize who Jim and Lillie was though, I had to check the other book to make sure. Now I'm wondering if Damon will have his story. I liked Tyler in this but at times he seemed too weak to be Alpha. I most certainly can't wait to figure out what's going on with Evan though. I have a feeling that Amy is going to be the person he's looking for. Then again I haven't hit on too much of anything throughout this series. Guess I'll read the next one to see what happens with these guys next.

Arend's books are like crack for me. I like that her characters are generally strong and confident in themselves. They are willing to stand up and say what they want. Caroline was in a relationship with her boss, but knew it was basically just a friends with benefits. It would have been easy for this to feel like she was either a slut taking advantage of her boss or her boss taking advantage of her, but Caroline is so up front about it and confident in herself that it is okay. Arend's books are like comfort reads to me. I go to them when I was a light but good read.

This one was filled with all sorts of crazy. Caroline, herself, is a bit crazy, but the bears are out of control. Some of the things that they did and then blamed on their "bear". I liked that Caroline called them on that and what a crock of crap that was, that yes they were bear, but they were also human. It was just what was needed to win over Tyler and everyone else.

On a side note, I was a bit sad that Caroline and Evan's relationship was over, but I loved how both reacted, that both still look to the other as a great friend.

Diamond Dust is the 3rd book in Vivian Arend’s Takhini Wolves series. As the blurb says these are light hearted, romantic, very sexy, sometimes suspense filled at just over 200 pages, quick reads. In this story we have grizzly bear shifter Tyler Harrison whose family business is diamonds. Hence the Diamond Dust book title. Tyler if vying for the title of clan leader of all the northern shifter bears. Tyler is a good man who wants to bring peace and prosperity to the shifter bear clans. The actual range of his leadership isn’t really defined but it would seem to encompass at least Canada.
Caroline Bradley is a human woman whose mother married a wolf-shifter so she grew up very comfortable in that world. That combined with her quick mind, grit, determination and fearlessness has allowed her to rise to a top position in the Takhini pack as the right hand of Evan the alpha who is also her live-in lover. She is also the G.M. of the Moon Shone Hotel that the pack owns. It’s never implied that Caroline’s sexual relationship with Evan is how she earned her pack position and as you watch her supporting Evan and the pack its clear that she didn’t sleep her way into her post. But Caroline is a realist. While she’s very much in-like with Evan and enjoys their incredible sex life, she’s aware that she is not his true mate. She cares for him enough to hope that he will someday find that mate.
Just as a large number of bears descend upon White Horse for their conclave to elect a clan leader, Evan gets a whiff of the scent of his true mate. Even though Evan has been unable to locate his true mate he’s now aware she exists and is somewhere nearby. Their story will be told in Moon Shine, the next and final book in this series. While Caroline is thrilled for Evan, she is naturally somewhat sad for herself not only for the loss of the man who gave her the best sex of her life but for the constant daily contact with the man who has become her best friend as well as her lover. Evan discovering the existence of his true mate means the end of their sexual relationship if not their close friendship. It also means Caroline must move out of the apartment she has shared with Evan and find a place of her own. Evan discovers the existence of his true mate on the same day that Tyler arrives at the Moon Shine Hotel to find the beautiful Caroline unconscious and floating in his suites terrace hot tub she had been attempting to clean before his arrival. Caroline had somehow managed to save herself from drowning by holding on to the edge of the tub even while unconscious. Tyler lifts her from the tub and brings her around while discovering both he and his bear feel a strong, protective attraction to the human woman. Tyler thinks Caroline is a housekeeper and fearing she might be a spy for another bear clan tells her he’s his body guard. But later at a dinner arranged by Tyler’s brother to introduce him to a woman he believes has the skill set to help him with the clan leadership, their true identities are revealed to each other. Caroline quickly reveals to Tyler what a force of nature she is, unafraid to deal with both wolf and bear shifters. Tyler recognizes Caroline would be a fantastic asset in helping him win over the other bear clans to his side. He’s also very attracted to her. But his clumsy overtures to her give their romantic relationship a rocky start. While Caroline is feeling weary of dealing with shift politics from her role in the Takhini Pack, she recognizes the burly bear has a good heart and sharp mind. She decides him leading the bear clans would be a good thing for all the northern shifters. She agrees to assist him in the endeavor. Caroline is about as lusty and uninhibited a woman as you’ll find in contemporary paranormal romance. Even though she seemingly just left Evan’s bed she has no issues with responding to her attraction to Tyler and jumping into his. Tyler convinces her to not only serve as his assistant in winning the other bear clans over to his cause, but to also date him romantically for the week. Which leads to a lot of steamy sex scenes. Even though the purpose of the concave is to allow the bears to elect a new leader without spilling blood their violent natures lead to a lot of violent confrontations every time they try to get together to vote or for a social event. Jim the grizzly bear from Black Gold the first book in this series along with his wife Lilly make appearances in this story as they live in White Horse and he is a clan leader. They host a pre-voting dinner which turns into a raucous rumble before its over. But Caroline and Lilly become fast friends and important allies in a short period of time. This being a contemporary romance I don’t have to tell you how Caroline’s and Tyler’s relationship or Tyler’s political ambitions end up. It was a lot of fun watching how Tyler and Caroline learned to support one another overcoming their own fears and how each’s personalities complimented one another.

She’s the organiser he only needed one look and fell hook line and cuddly bear

So it’s time fir the final voting if the bear council to see who would lead, Frank had organised a dinner for his brother Tyler and had invited Caroline, of course trouble started Caroline waded in and finished it, Tyler and his bear fell in love with her at that moment. Caroline who is human in a shifter world more used to wolves but could handle all of them some all it took was a look from her. Tyler is one of the leading delegates but needs a female on his arm and asks Caroline and of course she agrees. Well I don’t want to spoil the book by giving you all the nitty gritty so let me say it’s fast bloody and so hot it will make your toes curl I highly recommend this story fantastic read loved it

Another really good book from this author.
Really enjoyed Caroline's story and what a story it was.
She has always been a leading character in this series and in this book Caroline and Evan part ways as he has smelled his mate.
At the same time, we meet Tyler who is one of the main contenders’ for being the bear leader of all the clans.
In previous books there have been rumbles and problems with the bears.
This book explains what is going on and brings it to a conclusion.
Caroline is my favourite type of heroine, she has it all together and is a smart, feisty, intelligent woman who knows what she wants. She makes this story what it is and she and Tyler are so well suited. The situation in the restaurant was so funny.
Loved Tyler to bits.
One of my favourite books in all of these entwined series.

Sweet Caroline gets her HEA, and not with a wolf from her pack, though we knew that, because the whole fated mate, but a wonderful, growly, sweet, grizzly bear!

Okay, so we have a human who grew up in a shifter family, and is currently involved with the alpha of the pack she lives with. He sniffs out something, and they are still good friends, but their relationship ends, just before she meets a bear in town for the big bear gathering. Tyler is the bear, and he is upfront, honest, and true. No fated mates for bears, but they don’t deny their feelings, and how fast they fall. Trouble is, after doing things to make things easier for everyone else, Caroline finally has someone wholly focused on her. She is right there with her bear. A few false starts, and then cue the HEA 😊

Hot and sexy, sweet and funny, the bear for the win, and the human for finding her happiness and love!

Caroline and Tyler - A human who understands shifters and a bear shifter meet. What can go wrong?

Caroline is a human who grew up in a wolf pack. She has worked hard to achieve everything she has but something is missing from her life. Tyler is a bear shifter in town for the bear conclave trying to win the votes to rule the bear packs. Caroline has no fear of stepping in to be middle of a fight about to get serious and stop it. Tyler is the type to protect women from violence and hiding them in a corner to keep them safe. But he falls for her the first time he sees her. Can he woo her into falling for him or will he use her to help him win the votes he needs.
It was fun to watch him fumble his way through to his happily ever after and to watch her step back from having to do everything for everyone else and let someone take care of her.

Aaaaaah. Now that was a book.

Carolyn Bradley is a manager. That is her skill set, full stop. She manages people, places, events with aplomb. Because she is also a protector.

Tyler Harrison is in the fight of his life, trying to win the position of protecting and directing the bear shifter future. He is totally blindsided by the curvaceous human he rescues from drowning in the hot tub. Despite the goose egg on the back of her head, she proves to be compos mentis, and aware of who and where she is. Tyler is delighted and his bear is pushy … but, Caroline slips away.

The universe is aligned to throw them together; but it will take more than propinquity, to win the woman of his heart.

She helps.

Evan is a character
When it cumes 2 her but at least he was supporting her and watching over her 2 keep her safe against sum crazy fighting bears. He was mesmerized by her by the way she lived and worked with Evan. Now since they have worked 2gether 4 a while trying 2 get the bears 2 vote the women was wanting 2 cumes 2gether not only 4 themselves but 4 their men 2 it's good that they both seemed 2 b in sync with each other pretty fast, maybe even faster than normal. I can't wait 4 more 2 cm soon.

First book read by this author.

I realize that there's a ten books ahead of this one in the series, but kindle unlimited recommended this one, so here is where I started. This book was great. I liked the characters. They were well written. I didn't feel like there were tons of things that I missed by not reading the previous books first. The dialogue was excellent, the plot really good. This is the beginning of a great relationship. The writer is great.

I enjoyed this book. I loved Caroline and liked Tyler. The only problem was that I got attached earlier in the series to Caroline and Evan as a couple. Pointing out that they weren't mates wasn't enough to make me un-attached. So even though I liked this couple, part of me would still have preferred Caroline and Evan.

I rate it 4.5 stars. Would of been 5 stars if Vivian would allowed Caroline to kick some butt. She is a 3rd degree black belt after all! I felt like she built her to be so strong but made her weak at the same time. I know she is human and they are bears but just one punch Ainsworth face would of been priceless.

Not bad at all. I'm always looking for a light hearted paranormal romance that isn't going to turn into a massive series tying this character to that and so on. This actually had some of that going on but I still found it fun.

Fun

I jumped into this book without reading the earlier ones. I loved it. A couple times I wish I knew more but I truly enjoyed the love story. Lots of action and fun. Only thing I would have changed is going from one man to another in basically the same day. That bothered me.
