Kroll has written numerous children's books since her career started in the mid-80's. Her first book was published in 1992. She started writing when she had her fourth child. Before that, she taught elementary school in Buffalo, NY. She also has written a number of books under the pseudonym Melrose Cooper to mask her tremendous output in so short a time.
A little boys details all the kinds of teddies the kids in his class have. I thought it was going to end with him being sad that he didn't have one, but nope! He's happy because he has a monkey.
Realistic-ish illustrations depict the teddy bears while going through a day in the life of a preschooler. A nice variety of teddy bears throughout the book, and some diversity in the kids, too!
This book would be great for a story time at a preschool or daycare center -- or a night time story time where kids bring their teddy bears!
Great storytime appeal here. In this story all the children at preschool or daycare have a teddy bear and and they are all so very differentand loved dearly by their child. The nameless narrator is viewing everyone's teddy, and when it is rest time what does the narrator hug tightly? Delightful depictions of the activities at preschool or day care. The white background with light blue borders allow the illustrations to "pop" from the page.
