I loved this book! I love how Chelby was willing to do anything to get Jonah back. I love how they go against Baca and manage to escape with Jonah. I hate how they lose two of their people but I’m glad they were able to hurt Baca. I love how they make it back and have one of the crosses and how the princess is proud of them. I love how they have King Ash on their side now.

I loved it!
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. Baka has absorbed the powers of the unseelie king and has the two powerful crosses that he needs for world domination.
Chelby and her team must try and get the crosses before Baca can use them. The first attempt was to be Chelby and Jonas in disguise as unseelies but Jonas drugs her, goes with just Brody as backup and gets captured.
Now Chelby and the rest have two missions, rescue Jonas and Brody as well as get the crosses.
Joined by a fae, Maeve, who was a captive of the unseelie court, they venture to the unseelie realm. This adventure gets more and more difficult as the book goes along.
There is a lot of action, the usual suspense and surprises but it is still an easy, quick read. There is still a lot to be solved and done in the next book.
I was annoyed at Jonas, the overwhelming urge to “protect” his mate at all costs always causes problems. As well as the fact, to me it shows he has no respect for her. This could just be me but I really dislike some of the mate tendencies. This action made me lower my rating.
Other that that, I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to the last one.

Can't finish
...I just can't. There are so many kidnappings and rushed, failed rescues and empty promises of success and equally empty threats against failure. I mean this is just bloody ridiculous. I am so tired of seeing "It's all my fault". At one point the heroine thinks about the bad guys taking everything she loves, which completely ignores her friends and newly discovered family. The author loves to speak in absolutes and it is just too annoying anymore. I didn't even make it to 20% on this book--I'm just done. I am completely dismayed to find a MA collaboration that I cannot enjoy.

Retreat: Cupid (Paranormal Mercenary Corps Book 5) 🤕💕💝 So the adventures keep coming for Chelby and the team.. I am happy to see their bond grow as a team,even though they didn't trust her leadership skills, but then again she literally got thrown into a world she never knew existed. Truly looking forward to see what's next with Chelby and the gang. Definitely recommend this book /series !!!! Now need to start book 6 !!!! I would see what will happens now!! 🙂😍💝💕💞

What a waste of time! Why is it so many authors try to stretch a good plot so far through so many books that it finally breaks? That’s exactly what happened and book number five of this six book series. While the first books for adventurous and enjoyable, in the light so to speak, this one dives straight into darkness. Torture, beatings, just plain all out violent and, worst of all, didn’t move the plot forward hardly at all. You could probably skip this book and go straight to number six and not lose any information at all. What a disappointment.

Back to the Expected and More Than a Bridge
Too often, the penultimate book in a series is a bridge to the finale with a lack of a satisfying conclusion. While definitely setting the stage for the final battle between Baka and Chelby, the story provides more growth and development of the core team. Maeve and Antwin provide a nice side story that is interwoven with the main plot The sense of loss is palpable in multiple ways. Brody’s character seems to have taken a pass in this book. It’s not the best book in the series but it’s definitely worth reading.

Congratulations to M. Guida and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

This was an ok book and story line. Like many of the books in this genre/shared world, it was quick to ready with a long and arduous story line that ends quickly and decisively. Entertaining and worth the price as a Kindle Unlimited option. I wish these had more depth but appreciate authors using Kindle Unlimited.

leadership is hard
This story adds to the adventures that everyone is having. I know that she was let down because of her leadership abilities. I am just glad that we are seeing more of a bond then before. I really can’t wait to see what happens next with Chelby and the gang.

Lots of excitement as our crew heads for the final battle against the Shadow dragon and his super soldiers! Each new book in this series advances the story! Good read!

I was enjoying the series, but it gets frustrating when the characters make bad decisions just to extend the series one more book instead of finishing
