I love to read a good action romance and I adore stories about second chance love. Yet, I have seldom found them both in one book. I finally found one….

“Bearing All” as met all the requirements!!!

Kate is one bad ass chick, I loved her combat moves as much as I loved watching Sergei take her down while trying not to hurt her! The chemistry between this two just sizzled off the pages! Tiffine did a wonderful job for slowly explaining their history as we were watching the present unfold.

Just like the other 3 books in this series, you get a magnificent peek into the rugged Alaska terrain.

This time Ms. Helmer just happened to pick the area by my favorite city in Alaska, Homer and in the winter. There couldn’t be a more magical place on earth! The mentioning of the Salty Dawg saloon had me jumping for joy! You can’t go to Homer and not visit the Salty Dawg, even if it’s just to get one of their hoodies. My whole family has one, in fact some have one in almost every color.

I think that “Bearing All” is my favorite so far!!

I look forward to more in this wonderful series and yes, I know that I’m bias, because I’m from Alaska!! *smiles*

What's better than an action-packed spy-double agent-assassin novel with a bearded Russian assassin lumberjack hottie in Alaska and bad-ass double-jointed heroine who knows her way around a knife?

Finding out this is a series! A SERIES!

*Penny wipes away a tear of happiness*

This was the best one so far. I loved all the knife fighting and unspent lust and love that Kate fought so hard to hide. Loved snowed in books as well. I really hope that this series will continue.

(★★1/2) My first Tiffinie Helmer book, BEARING ALL was a fast read, enjoyable as a mini-break. Easily a stand-alone (even though #4 in the Wild Men of Alaska series), it may be perfect for readers looking for a light "enemies-to-lovers" story with mainstream (read: sensual, NOT erotic) love scenes and a romantic HEA. (Note: It's a holiday story only insofar as it takes place just before Christmas.)

Meet Kate "No Mercy" Mercer, a CIA operative on a mission to make up for past failures and avenge the death of her partner. Shame that her sexual attraction for her target keeps getting in the way.

Then we have Sergei Lavinsky, a former Russian spy codenamed "The Bear" who defected and is now a guide, fisherman, and handyman at a rustic lodge in Kachemak Bay, Alaska. Unbeknownst to Kate, she's the reason that he's been languishing in the Alaskan wilderness for the past two years since their ill-fated meeting in Afghanistan.

BEARING ALL is an example of "it's probably me, not the book". Fairly well-written with a developed storyline for its short length, I would've enjoyed it a lot more if I hadn't had to work so hard to suspend disbelief while reading it. The physical attraction between Kate and Sergei is tangible, and their sparring built up the sexual tension nicely. However, everything else lost its edge (yes, pun intended) under the weight of numerous plot and character inconsistencies, as well as grammar and edit/proof errors. .

Furthermore, as much as I liked Sergei, the Russian accent and broken English expressed in his dialogue were unbelievable (most spies not too effective or long-lived with this) and distracting. Every time I tried to lose myself in the story, it served to remind me of a bad B-grade Dracula movie. Not what I want when reading a sexy romance...

(Thanks, Secret Book Claus(e)! Was a great pick given this week's tricky theme. ^_^)

Vat I Vant is a hot Russian to tango with and not on the dance floor ;)

Sergei and Kate have a past - one that may ruin any future. Kate is sent to kill Sergei - why - you have to read to find out !!!

Tiffinie Helmer 's Bearing All is a fast paced, action packed romance with some sensual hot smoking combat moves. Sergei is Kate's target and they are certainly a match made in Heaven in more ways than one. Both hands on – agents that many a times are ruffling each other’s feathers either to kill the other or stop it.

Tiffinie has added in a few twists and turns in this short story. It’s fast paced and I’m sure any reader will find it hard to put it down once started.

Sergei is one hot Russian, and I can’t get over his patience with Kate at times lol. There are many moments where I actually giggled. Kate was one escapee artist . I could picture her in one scene and wandered to myself how far she would go and how darn clever she was.

The romance was like a log fire - crackling - hot - smokin and full of heat. ** fans oneself **

Tiffinie always portrays her characters with depth - and feeling, I enjoy being able to read a story where I know how the characters are feeling. See the surroundings, and with such vivid details Tiffinie delivers the readers great insight in the story being told. At times it was like watching James bond in his 007 movies !

Bearing all is a short sexy read, filled with an array of goodness that any romance reader who likes a thrill with enjoy.

I have to say I did Picture Daniel Craig in many a scene. lol - this reminds me of a 007 movie.. Tiffinie certainly did well in actioning all the moves ! ** waggles eyebrows **

WIld men of Alaska will have your pulse racing and your jaw dropping , this is book four in the series. Grab your copies you wont be dissapointed !

Bearing All (Wild Men of Alaska, #4) was free on Kindle in time for Christmas. This is the first book I read by Tiffinie Helmer and it won’t be my last. Bearing All caught my eye because it’s about a former Russian spy now living in the wilds of Alaska. Sergei aka The Bear has become a hermit who chops wood, wears flannel and has a beard. Have I told you how I’ve come to appreciate buffed, bearded men in the romances I read? Also in order to get the full effect of Sergei’s Russian accent, instead of “w’s” used, we get “v’s” like vanted instead of wanted. Silly, right? It might be annoying for some readers but Sergei’s dialect grows on you, especially how he defeats his former lover and assassin out for his blood, CIA agent, Kate.

Kate wants to take down Sergei because she believes he betrayed her. She locates him in the frozen tundra and gets the drop on him, or so she thinks. Sergei may be retired, but has years of training. He handles Kate in his own way, tying her naked to his bed, and trying to convince her he was framed and he still loves her. Kate is angry and hurt and isn’t sure if she can believe or trust Sergei. But Sergei has nothing to lose and soon Kate comes to the conclusion that she has been lied to and her own life is now in danger.

Bearing All is a taunt, sexy, and has non-stop fighting scenes that are very much foreplay between Kate and Sergei. The sexual tension is awesome here and Sergei is an equally opportunity fighter and lover. He’s a pretty laid back guy even with Kate who wants to gut him. Kate has incredible skills and is a worthy opponent for Sergei. The writing here is crisp and engaging with many twists with an explosive ending.

Bearing All was a fun read and well worth the $2.99 price.

My Thoughts

Christmas in wilds of Alaska, I am in as long as get to enjoy the hot tub and massages offered by the lodge that Sergei and his friends live at and run.

There is something totally awe inspiring about Alaska and when I get a chance to glimpse even a small part of it's majesty through books are film my fascination grows because I will never get a chance to visit the locations in person.

In this story two people who by all rights should have remained enemies get a second chance to finally reconnect and explore a future together, once old scores and common enemies are taken care of.

The action scenes are fast paced, the sex is hot and wild and all in all as a short story it satisfies the reader yet leaves them wanting more from the author at the same time.

I am happy this one came up as a free read for Kindle as it whetted my appetite for the rest of the series penned by this author whose easy to read style is just what I needed!

I had read a story not too long ago from this author and did not immediately have a positive response for it. So when I first saw this one, my thought was to skip over it. But the storyline sounded too good to pass. I’m glad I read it.

This seemed like a similar version to one of the 007 movies, I think Pierce Brosnan and Famke Janssen specifically. Sergei and Kate, or as Sergei calls her, Katja, (making it sound much sweeter), have feelings for each other. But both are wary of each other, not sure exactly what the other will do to the other since the last time they met, Sergei deceived her. I liked how they were always fighting, physically and verbally. The fighting was so well written; I could really imagine what was going on! Some of the fighting made me laugh, not exactly the laugh with you type but at you. Perhaps due to Famke’s tactics against Sergei. They seemed a little over the top. Nevertheless, I liked how their time together was written. Sergei did a good job, slowly revealing the truth. He had a slight accent which was also very nicely written. Some authors end up making the whole story sound like it’s written in the accent spoken by one of the characters. Sergei’s dialogue was sweet and fun to read.

I liked this story much better than the first in the Wild Men of Alaska books! Very fun to read.

Action filled from the first! I had a hard time with the lead male character's russian accent being written. Other than that, it was a book I had a hard time putting down because I could not wait to find out what happens next.

Kate: CIA operative who is hell bent on killing Sergei. A few years back not only did he seduce her and leave her, but he also killed Perry. She will stop at nothing until Sergei pays.

Sergei: Russian spy who seduced and left Kate, then killed her mentor and fellow CIA operative, Perry. He waits patiently for Kate to come finish what was started.

She finds him. They fight each other with everything they have, but Sergei wins the first battle and has Kate immobilized. He is reminded how badly he wants her back in his bed, but she will have nothing of that. They fight again when Kate somehow gets free and comes after him. Who wins this fight? Read the book!

This is an action packed, espionage filled, sexy book with a twist at the end that had my mouth hanging open and uttering, "Holy shit!"

For mature readers due to graphic sexual content.

I've read the first book in this series and I REALLY LIKED IT! Mostly because I have a kink for two people being trapped in a snowstorm together. You know what? THIS BOOK TRAPPED TWO PEOPLE TOGETHER IN A SNOWSTORM, TOO! In a different way from book 1, mind you. Plus, Kate was totally trying to kill Sergei and that's ALWAYS fun!

This book has spies and double-crossing and sexy times and more sexy times and a knife fight or two. Kate is a strong, kick-ass lady who can hold her own in a fight. Sergei wants the chance to explain why he did what he did three years before but he has to get Kate to listen first. They fight. They get frisky. It's perfect!

Packed to the brim with deceit, back-stabbing, and one hot blooded couple, this was one book that completely hit the spot. I won't lie, I also like the cover.

Sergei and Kate, secret agents well matched in technical skills, wit and in the bedroom. This is the fourth Wild Men of Alaska so I will be working my way back through Tiffinie Helmer' s other wild Alaska Men. When the urge for steamy romance hits, there are few authors who get the formula right, and Helmer does. A good story that's a quick read with a hero who could be Daniel Craig with a Russian accent and the cover' s not bad either.

What is there not to love about being snowed in with a sexy man? LOL Oh boy this story was smoking hot I had to fan myself a few times... I sighed so much and even laughed. I love when I read a book and I get physical reactions from the story.
Now I want more of the yummy men and kick ass women she writes. Please write more :)

This is a great series from what I have read. I have not read them in order so that is one good thing about it. I love the danger and chemistry it is unique to this author's way of writing. I like the build up so that we can relish it when it's happening. There is a fine line to rushing a scene and having it just right.

Overall awesome characters and the story was good.

A interesting and sexy romance novella by a new author. Even better, it was free. This book was exactly what I was looking for at the time, a quick escape from reality after a bad day at work. I'll certainly be reading more of Helmer's work in the future.

In this second chances, shaken - not stirred, spy romance, there is action, tension and a good dose of escapism for the reader. Sergei is the reclusive mountain man and Kate is on a mission to annihilate him. What she doesn't take into account, are her unresolved feelings for him. Keeping Kate from killing him proves to be more difficult than Sergei at first thought, but the destruction left in her wake makes him realise that she has learned a thing or two since they last met. Kate finally realises that she has believed a lie but she is torn as she has to decide whether being kept in the dark was worth it. Whilst Sergei is fully capable of subduing Kate he is nevertheless gentle with her, and tends her wounds when he could have just left them. The emotional tension between the couple is tangible and although steamy, the story is tasteful. As a relatively quick read, I enjoyed this story.

Bearing All is an entertaining romantic suspense by Tiffinie Helmer. Ms. Helmer has provided readers with a well-written, quick read. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Kate was a spy that failed to kill her target, instead ending up in bed with him while her own parter was killed. Sergei knew Kate was there to kill him, he had other plans. Sergei and Kate's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading Bearing All and look forward to reading more from Tiffinie Helmer in the future. Bearing All is book 4 of the Wild Men of Alaska Series but it can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a story, which is why I didn't go with 5 stars. I wondered if starting with book 4 in the series was the reason, but it seems like each book is it's own story.

I liked Sergei and Kate and how their 24 hours together progressed, but I feel like I missed the beginning, the character building. It's a good quick one sitting read, but it's not a deep story.

For being such a short story it is quite entertaining. It has a lot of action and suspense. There is some romance too But not a lot of build up. The Ending still managed to surprise me. For me it was a fun story but not worth a credit. Maybe if it’s on sale then it’s worth it or if you have the amazing new romance package.
