Elle Conner can barely boil water in the microwave, but that doesn’t stop her from lusting after hot, celebrity chef, Kevin Lattimore. When her best friend sets her up with cooking classes as a birthday present, the teacher is none other than her sexy obsession. After only two classes, Elle’s certain her culinary ineptitude has made her the most despised student ever to tie on an apron. That couldn’t be further from the truth, at least when it comes to her instructor.

Turns out Elle’s fascination with the handsome chef is not so one sided after all. Kevin has cooked up a plan, and he’s going to teach her a thing or two about heating up the kitchen without ever turning on the stove.

Warning: After reading this you may never look at artichokes the same way again.

I started reading when I was four, thanks to a babysitter who found out the only way to get me to sit still (and shut up) was to put a book in my hand. By the time I entered kindergarten, I’d blown through just about every Little Golden Book ever printed. Ten years later, much to my mother’s dismay, I found her stash of paperback romance novels. She tried to divert me back to something more chaste by buying me Harlequins, but I still snuck copies of hers when she wasn’t looking. Shanna, The Flame and the Flower, and Fires of Winter will always hold special places in my heart because they introduced me to roguish heroes, headstrong heroines, and the trouble they could get into together.

Ok. I will admit I'm a little on the untruthful side when it comes to lol's, lmao's & lmfao's but this story had me bursting out with a snort on more than one occasions.

I loved this story. I kept thinking to myself that it was so good that I would be satisfied when I got to the end even though it was so short. I told myself I would feel like I'd had a good chuckle, read some great (McFUGGINTABULOUS) sex and be able to sit back and sigh...BUT NNOooooooo. I still wanted more. It was just so good.

Just too damn short.

Jenny writes awesome one lines - but one after the other, after the other. Each page was snort-tacular and did I mention the sex??? *clouds part, blinding light shines down from the heavens* It was delicious!!

And with so few pages I thought the connection between Elle and Kevin was perfect. There were no slow parts, just page upon page of fantastic writing. I'm not much of a cook myself, but damn, I wouldn't mind Kevin putting a bun in my oven any damn time.

I will definitely be reading more of Jenny's work!

Grade: A

Thirty pages of glorious smartassitude and stupidly hot smexing.

...My spine straightened at the scolding, but my mouth did what it knew best. “Well, that’s just a waste of perfectly good bourbon, if you ask me.”

...Crisis averted, he’d walked away, leaving me confused, frustrated, but still in possession of my eyebrows and a massive lady boner. I was hot for my teacher. The pork chops could go to hell.

...He flipped the chalkboard over. I read the intimidating words “Artichoke Soufflé,” and before I could perform the rare task of censoring myself, I blurted, “Oh, now you’re just fucking with us.”

...His gaze drifted down to my chest, stopping on the spot where I’d used a blue Sharpie to add the word “Me” behind “Bite,” the name of his restaurant. His eyes flicked back up to my face, staying there as he announced, “Class is cancelled for tonight, ladies.”

That was all from TWO PAGES from the BEGINNING of this novella, and THEN it started in with the sexy times and I just about LOST IT. I don’t know what “it” was, specifically, but something down below was definitely off its usual axis when that Bite Me apron came off.

You’ll just have to READ IT YOURSELF to find out about the artichokes and the tattoos.

NOTE: I read an advance review copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

When Elle Conner is handed a gift of cooking classes from her friend, she thinks she is insane. Elle can't even boil water unless it is in the microwave, but when she is told televisions hottest chef and walking sex on a stick is teaching the course, she agrees.

Having managed to alienate all the other students in the class, Elle figures at least there is humor in that even if her cooking is not coming along well. Chef Kevin Lattimore though decides to take the tempestuous devil of a student on teaching her the more sensual side of the culinary world.

Short, fun, and wicked. I wish it had been longer and developed a bit more but the small morsel I read was witty and seductive.

Bite, simply put, is a moment in time that will feel like so much more. I really enjoyed this 30 page foray into Elle’s attempt to learn to cook. After being forced into cooking classes by her best friend, Elle is excited to learn the instructor is the uber popular, and insanely hot, Kevin Lattimore.

What starts as simple cooking classes quickly heats up and Elle finds herself alone with her instructor who decides to do devious things to her with vegetables. Kevin was drool worthy. He was all about command and control with Elle which was incredibly hot. Sure it included artichokes which are vile, nasty vegetables…but true to the blurb, I won’t be thinking of them in the same way again. Kevin makes ordinary cooking utensils into erotic foreplay toys and I found the kitchen scenario both sexy an slightly intimidating. Hey, that counter has got to be cold!

This novelette had solid, entertaining writing laced with quick wit and humor. I loved the combination of story and erotic romance and thought that for such a short read, it encompassed everything I enjoy in my reads. Elle’s constant jabs at Kevin during class had me cracking up and the hot scenes later had me panting! I look forward to reading more from Lyn because if she can manage to spellbound me in only 30 pages, then I would love to see something longer from her!

I give Bite by Jenny Lyn 4 stars!

Bite combines humor and erotica wonderfully. I giggled at everything that came out of Elle’s mouth. She is saucy. She has quick wit and a complete lack of anything and all culinary. Her best friend Heather is sneaky and decides that Elle needs cooking lessons from none other than Chef Scrumptious.
Elle has a very intimate relationship with him via her DVR.

Kevin is a bit of a celebrity chef. He has a morning television show and a very popular restaurant. Once a year for charity he donates cooking classes. This year he has a student that stays under his skin with her lack of filter and a mouth that keeps his attention attuned to only her.

Oh my! Cooking utensils should not be this hot. Kevin is the hottest thing in his kitchen. This little erotic short if full of greatness. The banter between these two is fun and sexy. The play they cook up in his classroom is scorching hot. The wicked things this man does and the things that come out of her mouth, I just loved it all.

Favorite quotes:
Elle to Kevin, “I think you can call me by my first name now, seeing as how you’re touching my boob.”

Kevin to Elle, “Bourbon glazed lips, I wonder how they taste.”

Let me start by saying I really loved the cover of this erotic short when I had the opportunity to check it out recently. I have a weakness for men in aprons and an obsession with Gordon Ramsey, so this one really piqued my interest.

I was not disappointed. The story follows culinary disaster, Elle Connor to a cooking class run by a the owner of BITE, a very popular local restaurant. Kevin also happens to host a local TV cooking segment that Elle is obsessed with -- and not because she cares anything about cooking.

I don't do spoilers in my reviews, so I will stay away from the broader plot points and stick to my overall impressions. I found the dialog witty and the relationship between Elle and Kevin sweet and steamy in all the right places. While I think the story could have used a bit more in the way of tightening through the editing process, I found the author's voice appealing and the characters likable and "real".

A great steamy short perfect for a single sitting with enough romance and steam to keep this erotic romance dish tasty and satisfying.

The book may be a short quick read but it was an enjoyable one that really liked. I also liked how Elle herself as character was portrayed. Then add the banter between Kevin and Elle was enjoyable. And the ending, oh good lord that was interesting and cute…
