Layla is finally free from the nightmares the humans caused and is trying to give everyone the life they deserve, helping them to know their enemies and train to fight against them. With Shade by her side, loving her with more than his touch and body, anything is possible, and Layla has never been happier as she prepares everyone for future dangers. Now that the humans are out of the picture, the Shadow Demons are on the hunt. However, she is not prepared herself when darkness arises inside the one creature she thought she knew. Someone that could bring down all creatures alike in a matter of seconds, someone who knows everything about her, knows all of her secrets. Knows what she fears most. Who is it?
Natalie is a talkative, hyperactive writer of Erotic Vampire Paranormal Romance books, with a love of reading and writing. She loves listening to loud rock/hardcore music while she writes. Natalie wasn't always a lover of books, but more an animal person then. She went to University of Lincoln, Riseholme College, where she studied an animal course for two years. It was only when she saw J.K Rowling's, Harry Potter books that she started reading. Natalie is a true believer of all things supernatural, and hopes that one day, she'll have the pleasure of meeting one.
Darkness Arising is the sixth book in the Cursed in Darkness series. Things have calmed down for Layla and she is getting on with her life. She is enjoying being a bonded mate to Shade and a mother to Shayla. However, the easy life doesn’t last long when troubles call once again.
In this latest installment Layla goes from student to teacher and it actually has the feel of some of the earlier books, with the exception of the setting. It didn’t feel like the story got off to the quick start that the last book did, but when the action picked up it was smooth sailing. Hancock continues to build the relationship between Layla and Spade and these two are as hot as ever. She has really taken the steam factor up a notch with these two. The fight sequences she writes also remain exciting.
Perhaps this latest effort wasn’t my favorite in the series, but the ending had me very excited for the next book. Hancock has set the reader up for a compelling ending to this series. I am more than ready for Layla’s next adventure.

REVIEW: Darkness Arising is the 6th book in the Cursed in Darkness Series and like all books before it Natalie Hancock takes us on the journey of Layla and Shade. This book shoots forward about 20 years . In this book although they are not fighting humans there are still things left to fight. Layla has opened up her own training academy of sorts and is training all breeds including her own daughter Shayla. The book was a fantastic read.. I give it as always 5 stars..
