In the Golden Age of Piracy, a priceless stash of treasure was hidden on a remote island in the Caribbean by some very clever—and ruthless—pirates. However, the secret to the location of the treasure was lost, and the pirates’ descendants despaired for centuries over the mystery, while the riches remained untouched. Enter Josh and Bernie, more than 400 years later! They gather information and maybe a little bit of magic from Gramps’ life chest to spark the quest. With the help of Gasparo, the young man they met in Italy at the close of The Life Vikings, the cousins put their treasure hunting skills to use once again. They travel to the Bahamas, determined to discover the secret of Dead Man’s Cave and find the incredible treasure. Pirate tattoos, shark attacks, family secrets, false pride and true heroism—all are part of this latest saga in the Life Chest series of adventures.
KIM YOST is the creator of two five-book series: The Life Chest Adventures and The Life Chest Extreme Adventures. A third, The Life Chest Infinite Adventures, has begun.
Kim’s first writing project was the Pumptitude series of motivational books, a trilogy in which he shared life lessons by telling his own stories of challenge, perseverance, and positivity.
Kim also began a family tradition of keeping a life chest, a place of honor to store important keepsakes. Both the Pumptitude lessons and the life chest concept became jumping off points for the Life Chest Adventure books, in which Kim appears as the great-great-grandfather of the main characters of Series One, cousins Josh and Bernie.
To create the most colorful, exciting, and accurate depictions of the locations in the novels, Kim and his team travel to each one. Experiencing the sights, sounds, scents and flavors of a place instills the stories, the descriptions, and even the dialogue with a special spark. Kim calls it the secret sauce.
