The end of the world has come, not with a whimper but in a bellowing roar. In an outbreak that spreads faster than any government can deal with, civilization is wiped out and chaos reigns true. The dead have risen and rule across the land, killing anyone or anything with a heartbeat.
Random groups have managed to survive among the living six months after the infection hit, but supplies are limited, exhaustion is constant, and places to hide are dwindling. When three groups of wayward people come together by chance, they must overcome their differences if they are going to beat the odds as they face tens of thousands of the ravenous undead.
Everything we know will end… Everyone we love will die… Fight with everything to survive…
“Death is the wish of some, the relief of many, and the end of all.”
Thonas Rand was born and raised in Los Angeles. Growing up, his mother fed his imagination by taking him to countless movies, including the animated movie Wizards and the original Alien in 1979, which at his very young age, scared the hell out of him.
He recalls going into the theater nervous with the ticket stubs in his hand. After it was over, he looked in his hand and didn't realize that during the film, he held the ticket stubs so tightly, that he rubbed them into unrecognizable paper pulp. That experience was most likely the catalyst that started the fire of his imagination. That, and, of course, watching Star Trek as a kid. Thonas has always been a daydreamer, picturing other worlds and realities were, and still is, his best therapy. Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror, are his favorite genres to watch and write about.
"Science Fiction is the unbelievable." ~Thonas Rand
"Thonas Rand" is his Nom de Plume, he created it as a tribute to his late Grandmothers, Theresa and Onez, two great women that have left this world with a little less light.
Thonas just published his fourth novel, which is book three of The Fall of Society Series, The Fracture of Society. He will begin work on his fifth novel in December/January of 2019.
In an outbreak that spreads faster than the government can deal with, Zombies threatens Humanity, Killing every survivor in their path.
What i liked:
The plane story - What they done took Courage. They thought they were saving millions of people, But it was too late. They done it all for nothing.
Lauren and Adams story - I thought this was written really well. You could really feel the heartbreak they went through.
What i didn't like:
Derek and Milla - I didn't like them at all. The most two annoying characters in the story.
The zombie hordes - I found how they survived these really unbelievable. Past zombie books i've read have shown that even some really strong characters can't survive a big hoard, but somehow these characters managed to survive thousands at once.
I started enjoying this more at the end, but i'm not sure if i'll be picking up the second installment.
Normally Zombies are not my thing. I find books about them creepy but this one was alright. The story was well-written and I actually kind of liked the book
This was an ok read for me, it took me a while to get in to it as it was more a telling of what was happening rather than someones story and i started to think it was going to be that way right through the book, then we got to meet some chatacters and i started to enjoy it. What i didnt like was that you would get to know a certain bunch and then it would switch to others, i would have preffered it to be one groups story but obviously that wasnt what the author was going for and thats just my preference. I would have liked to have known what happened to Paul and his girlfriend, i take it they died but i dont know and i didnt really get the ending, was he just crazy?? so who were the patients to him?? anyway a good story with hardly any errors, so an ok zombie read.
Nice start to a series. Diverse group of characters. Jumps around a lot a times but still easy to follow. Writing style has a lot of potential. You can tell the writer is still developing his style. It's not distracting though. Can be very descriptive at times where you feel in the middle of the action. Nicely done. Love that it's a throw back to some of the older-better stories. Zombie stories tend to bore me with their obvious stupidity at times. This one didn't. Good job.
I am enjoying this book very much. I am not a huge zombie fan, but I find this book hard to put down. I usually do my reading at bedtime and the only reason I am at 63% complete is that this book is way too intense to bring with me to bed. The Fall of Society is not for the weak of heart but is a definite must read.
