Peter Sheaf Hersey Newell (March 5, 1862 – January 15, 1924) was an American artist and writer. He created picture books and illustrated new editions of many children's books. -wiki
Peter Newell's Baseball ABC was a comedic way to introduce young ones to their ABCs, wrapping it up in the game of baseball with a tight little bow. Each letter corresponded either with an aspect of baseball or the person playing it. We get to see the game unfold, learn different vocabulary of the game while learning the ABCs.
This is a public domain book, so it is readily available provided you have Internet access. I can see young ones loving this, especially if they enjoy baseball. It is a cute and clever way to expose students to their ABCs while simultaneously educating them on the game of baseball. I would definitely recommend adding this into the rotation as a way to expose them to their alphabet in a different and intriguing way.
Huff or a muff this tis true, apple-ing an America pasture to teethen the mugs or ring the wet sop from the prebridal (or prepubescent childing) ABC is a tour of base passing or force in enclave of succession it may posterings or reeded wiffle
Baseball ABC by Peter Newell is a very modern story. The pictures are simple and there is no storyline. On each page it provides baseball examples for each letter of the alphabet. The way the illustrations mixed in with the baseball term they use for that letter was very sly and creative. I enjoyed the book because of my baseball love, but if you are not a baseball fan, I wouldn't suggest the read. Good for young baseball fans who have not developed their alphabet yet.
Baseball ABC, was written by Peter Newell and published in 1885. The illustrations were full of fun, colorful pictures. The story is told in a poem about a baseball game. It is used to teach the the letters of the alphabet. This book would be great for young children who are beginning to learn their ABCs. Definitely a good book for being so old-fashion, looks like a classic!
Baseball ABC is an ABC book all about things people see in baseball. It would be a great book to have in the classroom library for young children to look at because the pictures are really nice. Each letter has a short explanation of the word which is nice for more experienced readers as well.
