Zenina Masters was born in Canada and lives in Canada. She has a regular job and does nothing particularly exciting with her life. She enjoys fishing, silence and the ability to pick and choose friends she can trust. Life is too short to watch your back all the time.
Her writing life is a teeny bit of escapism, she would probably chicken out if confronted by three naked men and looks forward to one day finding out.
I've enjoyed this author by her other name, Viola Grace, perhaps more than this book. But this was still a nice romantic read. Leandiir and Jim The crux of this book and the others in this series, is that there is a 'realm' called 'the crossroads' where shifters can go to find their mate. Lee has been raised in the lion shifters version of a sexist polygamous society. Her dad wants to marry her off to one of his lazy old cronies. Her last chance for freedom is to find a true mate at The Crossroads. She has been raised to be submissive but her true nature is a lioness. As she and Jim fall in love, she learns to be herself. When she gets there she meets the owner of the local tavern. He initially judges her poorly, but really most of the story is sweet and romantic. An easy angst free read. Safety is all good
Another cute short - shifter finds their mate story, less magic in this one, and it doesn't have the subtle innkeeper vibe the first one did. I didn't get as strong an urge to jump into the next one as I did with the first book.
I am so happy to have discovered this author and series!! I am really enjoying it! This is the second book and still shows great promise for things to come in the series.
I loved Lee!! She is an awesome character! She has been beat down by life and keeps getting up! She has a wonderful spirit and attitude for all she has been through. And Jim is just the right man for her! They are a great pair and I love the dynamic of their relationship.
This time around we get more of a feel for the Crossroads and how things run there. We met several shifters I am hoping to get stories for as well. So many possibilities and room for growth in the small community!
The story takes the front burner in this series and it is a great tale. I thought it was very well told and the resolution worked for me. Lee had her "You go, Girl" moment!
It is a fairly short read and at times things are a touch slow. More sex would have helped. It is erotica after all!
The steamy scenes that were included were delicious!! I just wished for a little more!
Can't wait to see what is next in this intriguing series!!
Merged review:

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Kellie Kamryn, who tends to be hit or miss with me. I like her read in general, as long as I speed it up, it is more the production quality that ruins things. This was better than others, less of the reading from a cave sound. I enjoyed her energy throughout the read and the consistency of the voices. Regular speed is too slow and has strange pacing, punch it up to double and it sounds great. She has a tendency to really hit the consonants, but that is just me getting picky. Overall I like her tone and would love her if not for the pace and production.
I am eager to see the rest of this series in audio, I have enjoyed the ebooks and would love to get all caught up in the series with audio!
*** I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. I listen at double speed; all my impressions of the narration are from that setting. Thanks for taking the time to read my review! Totally loving this series, and am *smacking* myself for not getting to her sooner. I have TWO signed books in this series and am overjoyed I got to meet the author.
The second book in the series continues the Crossroads series, where shifters of all types (unless they have been restricted due to mis-deeds)go to meet their last ditch effort of finding a mate. Think dating website, for shifters, with a little bit of magic in the mix.
Love this series. Lee is a lion shifter facing an arranged marriage in her fundamentalist community. Not wanting to be a third wife to one of her father's friends she escapes with he help of her mother. Jim is a tiger shifter who owns the Crossroads bar. His tiger takes notice of the timid female lion. Lee proves to be a strong advocate and capable protector of the weak. Jim knows he has found his mate. A fun , fast paced and steamy story. Love Lee and Jim.
I liked this one a lot. The whole "Fundamentalist Lion Pride" aspect was a really interesting addition to the story line. I enjoyed Lee's character a lot she was great and of course I liked Jim as well. We are continuing to learn more about the different shifters and I am hoping right into the next book from the series. :)
