'Mighty, magical moon,
free him from this awful doom.
Break the spell,
make him well.
Azaleamagicalboo.'

This adorable story is full of fun, intrigue and adventure. Even though it is written with children in mind, it is still a smart clever story. There are lessons about perseverance, commitment and loyalty throughout these pages.
I really fell in love with Cecilia's charm.
This is a delightful fable that I wish was around while I was growing up. I could really appreciate the strong female main character, though she could have just as easily been a boy and I would have related to the story just as well. The plot along with the ongoing discovery was so much fun.

The writing is easy to follow along with the realistic dialog and fabulous illustration which made the story quite visual with one colorful scene after another.
This series shouldn't be overlooked .
It makes for a great read with a lot of heart!

With the second book of the Cecilia Spark series, Cecilia finds herself facing an even bigger adventure than last time! This book is about twice as long as the first book in the series, but since it comes in at a little under 100 pages, it is still appropriate for the chapter book age set. In this book we get more of a look at the history behind the magical world that Cecilia finds herself drawn into. It was cool to find out how Soldier became a talking mouse. Although I don’t want to give the plot away too much, I will say that the plot for this book was more complex and personally, I found it even more fun than Cecilia’s first adventure. Using the suspense technique of pitting her characters in a race against time to help defeat evil, the author made this story into a book that is hard to put down.

We also meet several new characters in this book that I really enjoyed. Ractus the Armadillo was probably my favorite, maybe because he could be a little grumpy and high-strung, but in a lovable way. The two other new characters who really stood out were Pacha (a friendly little raccoon, who isn’t quite who she seems to be at first) and Turan (a half-human, half-tiger creature that plays a pretty important role in the climax of the story). This is definitely a series that would be enjoyed by children age 4-9.

Another whirlwind of adventure for Cecilia

Having read book one, I was keen to read book two. Once again, Cecilia finds herself whisked from her own back garden (she’s in the shed this time, doing boring homework) into Brimstone Forest. This time, Soldier the mouse, has enlisted his friend to summon her, as he needs her help. There follows another lively (and lovely) set of adventures, complete with the wonderfully flamboyant Senorita Favorita, dreamcatchers, adorable little animals and fascinating tales. Saying more might spoil the story, but this time, Cecilia’s task is to help her friend Soldier, the mouse, whose previous life turns out to be quite extraordinary. To help her friend, Cecilia and Soldier have to travel to the Magical Mountains of Terra and risk manifold dangers along the way.

This second book of Cecilia Spark's adventures is every bit as good as the first, and will want your child nagging for more. Adorable innocent fun, with a fine raft of lovable characters and creatures who have numerous magical adventures, where Cecilia helps the good guys and defeats the bad ones.

I’m not sure if there’s a third Cecilia Spark book published, but if there is I shall get it.

Cecilia Spark sets off on a much longer adventure than Brimstone Forest, following the Quest compass into the Mystical Mountains of Terra. The characters are beautiful and we learn more about Soldier and are introduced to Ractus and Pacha along the way. There's tension and suspense as well as humour. A highly recommended read for all ages.
