From Kirkus:
A life time of yachting should be all sailing men's meat, for the author, from his boyhood on and in spite of everything, found his true love in sailing boats. Even at Brown University he was with an informal yachting group, and his profession of naval architect kept him on hand for all chances to indulge himself. There's sailing the coast, the Bermuda race, for various cups and challenges, up to and including the battles for America's Cup; there's trans-Atlantic sailing and meets abroad, and there are detailed descriptions of the vessels that competed. With entries from diaries and logs, Mr. Hoyt fills in the background with unlimited yachting material to satisfy the most insatiable sailor.
