Spare The Rod Spoil The Child

Rate this book
All Yani ever wanted was for her mother, Pamela, to love her, but in return the only thing she received was the rod. In spite of the turmoil going on at home between her mom and herself, Yani found love and acceptance with Dontae Smith, a young, attractive basketball player at Rosemary High. Being with him made her situation bearable. Pamela, on the other hand struggled with being a loving parent to Yani. Her hatred toward her daughter set off an abusive rage, compelling her to strip Yani of her self-worth. Favoritism was a tool often used in Yani's home, and if she dared protest or defy her mother, the unfettered force of Pamela's wrath would be focused upon her. Raymond, Yani's father, wasn't around to protect his daughter from the violence that pierced her flesh whenever Pamela was feeling the need to relieve some stress. BUt, the day he discovered the awful truth, all of their lives changed dramatically. As your fingertips intently turn the page, desperate to reaf more, you will find yourself becoming a part of this young woman's painful journey of survival. Within every tear that falls from her eyes, she will discover a cleansing mechanism to one's soul. will Yani survive this life of abuse? Or will someone die at the hands of a person who has had enough? For, one thing is sure: not everyone will make it through to the other side. You be the judge.
