I'm only part way into this book but I'm loving it. It's not a book to read quickly - I want to savour each morsel with contemplation and delight. As usual, Lucy Cavendish and Serene Conneeley have compiled and written a rich resource for those seeking answers and those looking to expand their spiritual practices.

This is an interesting "Introduction to Pagan Paths and Witchcraft" book. Lucy Cavendish probably wrote about half of it herself, the rest coming from people who follow different pagan traditions. I like that she did not to try and write about paths that she does not follow. It is light on "Witchy Magic" giving just the very basics that are primarily based on Wicca. The history is accurate, if sparse. There is an entire chapter about fictional witches that is completely unnecessary. This would be a great introductory book for a young person who might be interested in pursuing Witchcraft. However, I did not get much out of it that will stick with me.

This book has a very welcoming energy and is for anyone interested in the craft. I would also be quick to recommend it as a really good introduction to those just starting on the path. In the beginning it frankly exposes the myth from the facts about witches, and gives a good rundown of witchcraft in history before getting into the witchy stuff. There are also personal accounts from various practitioners who have made the craft their own, which adds a little warmth to it.
