Summer Shaw moved to Florida to work as a massage therapist for a highly esteemed orthopedic surgeon. Besides work, she feels like she's a bit out of her element. That is, until Jason Chambers enters her life as her newest patient. The two quickly become friends, but Summer is unaware of Jason's status as a major league ballplayer. She's familiar with football, not baseball, and she has no idea who he is.
His identity is revealed when Summer attends a Spring Training game for the first time with her boyfriend, and she sees Jason on the field playing for the Phillies. Not only does Jason's very dysfunctional personal life complicate things, but now so does his prestigious professional career.
But sometimes following your heart is more than a decision, and Summer soon realizes that it is not always the easiest choice. As she struggles to do what is right, she learns that the ups--and the downs--are much better when you are playing the game with the right person.
A touching story about love, family, and of course...baseball.
Writer of sweet romances, cute love stories, happily ever after, etc, whatever you'd like to call it!
Inspiration comes in many forms, from raising a family to the amazing people I've come across in my life. I love to involve myself in charities, local and abroad, and I've witnessed an array of miracles upon doing so. I'm curious by nature and never stop learning. If someone asks me a question I cannot answer, I'll research it until I can!
I'm thankful for my friends and family-- they always amaze me. I'm especially grateful that they allow me the opportunity to put my thoughts into stories that others can read and (hopefully) enjoy!
Thanks for taking the time to check out my work. I appreciate your feedback.
...that's how I met Cory, and that's how he became my boyfriend. He was also the beginning to a very incredible story...
What started out as a light little life for Summer quickly turned into a busy life with constant challenges and roadblocks in the way that I am honestly exhausted after reading everything that happened to her and everyone else. I feel like I just lived ten crazy years with kids clinging all over my limbs vying for my attention. I just need to sleep now!
I honestly loved this book and the entire plot, but I admit it...I am beat! I'm glad it's over because I just need to sit back and relax after all that drama.
Summer Shaw meets Jason Chambers when she becomes his massage therapist. As I am looking back at the beginning of the book, it seems like Summer's life was so simple and easy at first. She had work, friends, and her boyfriend - Cory - and then somehow it all evolved into this massive life story that was so sweet and wonderful but also full of all those crazy moments in life that give you headaches and make you worry.
We later find out that Jason has a son and I don't want to say too much else, but much of the drama in this story pertains to the stress of custody and those parental struggles that so many split families face when it comes to their kids. The realness of the story really got to me because I know there are so many good parents out there who just want the best for their kids but they have to put up with all the drama of being divorced and figuring out how to provide the best possible life they can for their child.
I will definitely read this story again. But I think I'll take it slower next time so I'm not so drained by the end. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I really loved this book. It was real inspiring with real family love and issues that happens with all couples. It has a little bit of a mystery to it also. Please read, going to check out more of Delaney's books. Loved all the characters and family of Jason & Summer!
