Groupie #2

Rock Star

Rate this book
Rock Star is the highly anticipated sequel to Ginger Voight's Rock and Roll Rubenesque saga, which began with the sizzling debut of Groupie. For those who have been anxious to see what has become of Andy, Vanni and Graham... buckle your seat belts. You're in for a thrilling new ride right through the dark underbelly of fame.

In the second book in the series, readers get insight into the mind of the romantic hero, Giovanni Carnevale, as he reaches the pinnacle of success as a world wide rock star. Everyone wants a piece of him, but all he wants is the one thing he can't have. He's angry and he's entitled, with ample opportunity to make really bad decisions. The combination proves explosive.

Andy must watch from the sidelines as her beloved Vanni falls victim to grifters, scandals and alcoholism thanks to this self-destructive behavior. Things come to an emotional head when his estranged father comes on the scene just when Vanni thinks things can't get any worse.

Darkness shadows Graham Baxter as he begins his journey as a paraplegic. The powerful mogul bitterly handles this new vulnerability by lashing out at the people who could help him the most. He needs Andy more than ever, pulling her in yet another hopeless direction. Andy is put in the impossible situation of keeping the most important promise she has ever made, or saving the man that she can't help but love.

Author Ginger Voight turns up the scandals, secrets, passion and heartbreak to 11. Flawed characters face excess and all the pitfalls that entails. They fight as hard as they can to hold onto anything real in the fake world of celebrity. Adult content intended for readers 18+.

Ginger Voight is a screenwriter and bestselling author with over twenty published titles in fiction and nonfiction. She covers everything from travel to politics in nonfiction, as well as romance, paranormal, and dark, “ripped from the headlines” topics like Dirty Little Secrets.

Ginger discovered her love for writing in sixth grade, courtesy of a Halloween assignment. From then on, writing became a place of solace, reflection, and security. This was never more true than when she found herself homeless in L.A. at the age of nineteen. There, she wrote her first novel, longhand on notebook paper, while living out of her car.

In 1995, after she lost her nine-day-old son, she worked through her grief by writing the story that would eventually become The Fullerton Family Saga.

In 2011, she embarked on a new journey—to publish romance novels starring heroines who look more like the average American woman. These "Rubenesque" romances have developed a following thanks to her bestselling Groupie series. Other titles, such as the highly-rated New Adult series, Fierce, tap into the "reality-TV" preoccupation in American entertainment, which gives her contemporary stories a current, pop culture edge.

Known for writing gut-twisting angst, Ginger isn’t afraid to push the envelope with characters who are perfectly imperfect. Whether rich, poor, sweet, selfish, gay, straight, plus-size or svelte, her characters are beautifully flawed and three-dimensional. They populate her lavish fictional landscapes and teach us more about the real world in which we live simply through their interactions with each other. Ginger’s goal with every book is to give the reader a little bit more than they were expecting, told through stories they'll never forget.

4.5 FANTASTIC DRAMA FILLED STARS

description

That’s pretty much what I wanted to do the entire time I was reading Rock Star!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I mean I still feel like screaming my lungs out after this book!!

Before I start my review I have to get this Vanni rant off my chest!!! I have to say that Vanni is probably one of the most SELFISH characters I have EVER read about. To say there were moment where I was pulling my hair out, pacing, raging mad was an understatement. This guy is seriously UNBELIEVABLE! There were so many situation where I was looking at my iPad thinking NO F*@KING WAY he is NOT going to do that and low and freaking behold the douche does exactly what I was screaming in my mind for him NOT to do. Vanni is the type of character that oozes dysfunction and I'm not talking minor things!! He's seriously dysfunctional. I really don't think that this guy knows how to put anyone first other than himself. He is a seriously SELF INDULGENT pr*ck!

WHEW......***Deep Breaths*** in and out **breathes**

I feel so much better now that I’ve got that off my chest....lol.

Rock Star is book 2 in Ginger Voight’s angsty brilliant trilogy. The first book is called Groupie and drove me absolutely insane when I read it. This author has such amazing writing skills...seriously! She writes with so much intensity the her characters spring to life from the page, gripping you to the edge of your seat. When you’re reading her books no matter what sweet indulgent torture she’s putting you through you just can't seem to PUT THE BOOK DOWN. It’s crazy, crazy good.

Despite almost being driven to the point of insanity and wanting to murder a fictional character I have to say that I love these books and the characters!!! They're the type of characters I have a love/hate relationship with. While I'm reading I'm torn up and thinking Oh my God I cannot keep reading this but deep inside I'm devouring the angst, soaking it up and relishing it.

I know....I have issues...lol

I won't say to much about the book because it will ruin it if you haven't read Groupie yet but basically we leave Andy were we last saw her. She's decided to stay with Graham after the "incident". Vanni is not too happy about this and pretty much goes into a "whoa is me" downward spiral (the way he throws himself a pitty party...omg...no words). He becomes increasingly worse and pisses you off like NOTHING ELSE. Andy is the same as in the last book. She's torn between Graham and Vanni. It's a emotional struggle that tears your insides apart.

Even with all the back and forth I felt that we got to see some major growth with Vanni’s character. He has some issues that are confronted in this book and with that we get to see him grow up a little bit. Andy is his saving grace and never abandons him. And as much as that infuriates me at times it also made me see that she is a hell of a woman.

”He needed her to patch all the tears. With every soft kiss she planted along his cheek, neck and shoulder he felt her healing love pour over each open wound. She softened his rough edges. She gave his soul peace. She was, as she had always been, his saving grace.”

Not only do we get to see Vanni and Andy work themselves out, we get to meet some new characters. And let me tell you they throw a nice little twist in this story. Bringing a whole new form of sizzle and angst that keeps you on your toes.

Overall I thought Rock Star was a brilliant continuation from Groupie. It was a drive you insane, riveting, fantastically gut wrenching ride. Ms. Voight knows how to draw the reader in and torture them just enough to keep them coming back for more. Out of every author and series I have ever read this is by far the angstiest. I’m dying to get to Mogul and see how the last book plays out. I would HIGHLY recommend this series if you are a angst reader like me.

'His throat closed up just to think of her. Ever since he left her in that Philadelphia hotel room he felt like a half of his heart was missing.'

'He knew that he was stitched just as deeply under her skin as she was under his.'

'All this time he thought he could fool her into thinking he could be her knight in shining armor, her rock and roll fantasy come true. But when push came to shove, it was another man who rode to her rescue.'

'He simply had no heart left to give.'

'Andy was the first… the last… and the only.'

The road to recovery is not easy. Especially after Vanni finds himself facing demons from his past.

*
Book 2 in the Groupie series give us a look from Vanni's pov along with Graham and Andy's. We see him struggle with bitterness and anger which is only used against him as addiction sets in. After the "tragedy" that took place at the end of book 1. Vanni and Andy are once again torn apart by circumstances. Andy has decided to stay by Grahams side and this decision is like a trigger being pulled causing Vanni's down fall.

His complete downward spiral takes a turn from bad to worse landing him in the hospital. Of course Andy comes to the rescue which surprises Vanni and upsets Graham. Andy decides she is going to help both men. Simply because she loves both men.

Graham is pissed at how quickly she jumps at the chance to go running back to Vanni. Especially after how he has treated her. But Andy grows a spine and tells him EXACTLY how things are gonna go down.
“He needs to get clean, you need to get mobile. I"m going to help you both. So you"re both just going to have to get used to it because the very next person who tries to make me choose is going to get my foot up his ass..." ~Andy

Graham accepts this but is NOT happy about it. He loves Andy and wants nothing more then to show and prove to her just how much in love he is. Andy loves both men but her heart truly belongs to Vanni. There is no doubt in her mind nor the readers mind that this is the case.. Yet Vanni's jealousy and destructive behavior practically pushes her into Grahams waiting arms.

Eventually Vanni takes strides with his sobriety but falls in to the clutches of con artists trying to make a come up off his money and fame.

Andy goes from Graham to Vanni from Vanni back to Graham like a damn ping pong ball. A girl can only take but so much... Both need her for support, both desire her love and both want her heart as theirs to keep solely.

'If only she could clone herself into another Andy, things would be so much simpler. If things kept going on at the rate they were, Graham and Vanni were going to end up splitting her right in two.'

Andy battles with who to be with. In Grahams safe, loving, caring and stable arms. Or with Vanni the true undeniable love of her life that always seems to be out of arms reach.

My Thoughts
Holy smokes! This book was chuck full of DRAMA so much so it could be a prime daytime show featured on a major network. I felt so bad for Andy the poor girl went back and forth and back and forth; catching hell from the media and was criticized for her full womanly curves. I felt more invested in these characters then I did with book one. I think the author threw some crazy curve balls leaving me in a page turning frenzy.
I felt the writing was dramatic and right up my alley as far as angst, lust and plot twist are concerned.

Dear Readers
I gave this book 4 stars because I could not put the book down. It had so many plot lines and new characters leaving me in a tailspin of good old fashion drama. The paparazzi added to the drama by stirring the pot of Vanni, Andy and Grahams obvious love triangle.
-If everything I said appeals to you then I suggest you read this series. It will not disappoint!

My Ratings
Characters- Most are lovable
Writing Style- Drama filled with angst and heartbreak
Plot/Storyline- Savory, intense and fast paced
Steam Factor- Medium/Moderately Steamy
Overall- I enjoyed it! READ IT!!

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads!

**Do not read the following until you’ve read book one, Groupie. There are minor spoilers below.**

He was her drug. He always had been. And until that very moment neither of them realized that she was his as well. He couldn’t get enough. He could never get enough.

It took me TWO attempts to read this. Two. Why? Well the first time I started to read this, it was immediately after reading Groupie (book #1). If you read my review, you know it was angst on steroids! I knew I shouldn’t have immediately jumped to this book, but I really couldn’t help it. I’m a masochist and I wanted to continue the torture. Unfortunately at 25% into this book, I had enough and wrote:

“Ok. That's it. I just uttered my safe word. I couldn't take the pain anymore. I'm broken, but I am determined to finish this crazy ass story, only after book three, The Mogul, comes out in February. **sigh** I feel slightly better, but my iPad is telling me to SUCK IT UP and FINISH THIS SHIT ALREADY. FUCK!!”

So it took me 20 days to return to this book. I figured I’d suck it up and take it like an adult. I read this pretty fast, too. I figured it’s like ripping off a band aid, you know, to lessen the pain, but unfortunately the story still stung like a bitch.

He snarled as he thought of Graham. Lucky bastard. He had money. He had power. He’d already had two other wives. And now he had Andy too.

After what transpired at the end of book one, Vanni was one hot mess. He couldn’t cope with what happened and started to spiral out of control. The beginning of the book was a tough pill for me to swallow. Watching Vanni lose it was very difficult to read. (Hence why I stopped reading at first.) When I emailed the fabulous Ginger Voight to vent out my frustration, she basically told me that after Vanni’s treatment of Andy in most of book one, he wasn’t ready to be worthy of Andy…yet. He had to hit rock bottom first. She explained it further by saying:

“Vanni's about to get totally bitch-slapped through fate. It'll level him to the point he'll realize he's been a complete dumbass, but it'll come at a huge cost to him with something that will spill over into the next book with explosive consequences. BUT, the plus side of that is that he'll realize he needs Andy on a fundamental level beyond just a romantic partner. He'll realize he's alone in this world without her. It's an eye-opening moment for him.”

This helped me tremendously when powering through this story. Especially when Andy kept see-sawing back and forth between he and Graham.

“Tell me you love me,” he begged as he slipped between her legs under her skirt.
“I love you,” she muttered in an incoherent whisper.
“Tell me you don’t love him,” he persisted…
“Tell me,” he pleaded…
“You do love him,” he finally said. “Don’t you?” She didn’t answer. “Don’t you!”

As much as I love the concept of two strong, sexy Alpha males fighting over me, I would NOT want to be in Andy’s shoes. She is stuck between a rock and a hard place. She’s in love with two completely different men, for two completely different reasons. As much as I adored Vanni, he was mostly an ass to Andy in book one. As for Graham, I fell in love with him and was devastated at what happened to him. This book once ripped me apart, just like book one did. My heart was all over the place. Each man claimed that they needed Andy, but the answer to who needed Andy more was never really quite answered. It was so difficult to not feel for the other. My heart just broke.

“But unfortunately the road to hell really is paved with good intentions.”

We meet a couple new characters in this book, too. We meet Maggie, the nurse helping Graham with his rehabilitation. She was awesome, plus it helps that she’s a nurse like me. What’s not to like? Then there’s Leo…yea, he’s just a total sleaze ball. And then there’s Holly. Ugh! My bitch-radar immediately went off when we meet her. She was too good, but I knew there was a side to her that I knew I wasn’t going to like. Makes me wonder what’s up her sleeve in the next book.

Just remember, this a very tough series to read, but I give mad props to Ginger for writing a story that will make you swoon one minute and then make you scream “bloody murder” the next. It’s that emotional. I wonder what book three, The Mogul, has in store? Hmmm…can’t wait to find out :)

I want to start by saying, I absolutely love Ginger Voight's books!!!! They always have me on the edge of my seat because I never know what is going to happen next!! Rock Star was no exception, this book was crazy and intense from start to finish!! I will admit that after reading Groupie I had to give myself a little break before starting Rock Star because I needed to keep my sanity in tact!!

This is how I felt when reading this book.....

It is a crack book, it will having you screaming....NNNNNOOOOO....WHY would you do that. However the characters are so addictive you can't stop reading once you start!! I will admit that when I began this book I wasn't feeling it like I did Groupie but that changed very fast and I ended up liking it just as much!

"The whole predicament was a gigantic ball of fucked up." I believe Ginger says it best, so I just quoted her!!!

This is the second installment in this series, basically it's the same love triangle we've all grown to love with a few new characters thrown in to mix things up. But this book's focus is the same as the first book; Vanni, Andy and Graham. I'm not going to go into the storyline because quite frankly you would just have to read it to understand the addiction!!

“But unfortunately the road to hell really is paved with good intentions.”

That pretty much sums it up!! I can not wait to read Mogul, I will be buying that book as soon as it's available!!

OMG!! I thought I disliked Groupie, but this has far surpassed that. I actually want to throw my iPad across the room I was so mad and aggravated sometimes. I usually can find most movies or books to have enough redeeming qualities to find them enjoying but this is one of the VERY VERY FEW that I couldn't. I don't really read much if any paranormal because when it comes to love and romance, I want to believe it has a snow balls chance of being real. I have enough real life dramas to be cynical enough to believe real love and happiness truly exist. In most of the books I read it is hard enough to believe that every hero has a LARGE D**K and can keep it hard 24/7 for 3-8 rounds a day. Maybe there are a lot of Them out there and I just can't find them! The problem with this book is there is not a single character that you can totally respect and root for. Graham is the closest but even he starts to fall short in this book. Maggie wins out in the end I guess. I have never seen so many lying, cheating, selfish, self-centered, egotistical, co-dependent, sadistic, pathetic, manipulative, scheming, and just PLAIN STUPID characters gathered in one book!! I wish I NEVER started reading this series!!!

This H is so immature, spoiled, weak and gross. And here I thought I needed his POV. He was just incredibly irredeemable and despicable. And holy fuck do I have an unphased ability to tolerate OW. The h was a total nitwit and every chance she had to stop their bullshit from exploding and she didn’t take it. Save me from fucking martyrs.

This book was nearly the exact same plot as book 1. Instead of the h having to be graceful about the scraps her H tossed her way, it was his turn and he let her down at every obstacle.

The angst was totally in my wheelhouse. But weak H’s are way too Beta for me.

To quote Macklemore, "THIS [trilogy] IS F*CKING AWESOME!"

I needed Valium to get through this book, especially towards the end! I am not kidding when I say there were parts when I was gasping for air and screaming "NOOOOOOOOO" at my iPad while reading it. Jesus! Ginger Voight certainly knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats! Can't wait for the conclusion to this crazy rollercoaster ride and certainly hope everyone gets to live happily ever after!

While the first book in this series surprised me by how much I enjoyed it, this one just fell short and was weighed down by drama. Having read the first book, we all know that Vanni isn't a good guy. He's cheated, lied, screwed over everyone who trusted him - yet, Andy just keeps going back. This is a story where both parties would be so much better (and happier) if they stayed away from each other.

Also, who saw that twist a mile away? Everything just seemed like it was thrown in to cause more drama and not to progress the story any. It just turned into who can dick over who the most...and yet, I need to read the final book to see how this all settles.

The crazy thing is, I really like Andy and how she's not your typical thin, Barbie type girl. She's full-figured, smart, and for the most part, she's independent. Her weakness is Vanni, and the pull that she feels with him is described perfectly. She can't let him go and I can feel that. Even though I want her to because she would be so much happier lol.

Then there's Vanni who just wants to destroy himself. I honestly don't know if he's redeemable at this point because everything he does is just horrible. And I think that's where my disconnect comes in - the believability of it. Everything at the end of this book kind of wrapped up nicely - especially with the Graham situation. But of course there's more drama to come and I guarantee that just like every other new adult/adult romance, no one has heard of a paternity test. So, bring on the drama!

In the second installment, we get the soap opera version of a trainwreck and car accident, along with the hidden identically cloned triplet of the evil twin sister. Again, this book was okay. The heroine and hero still annoyed me, and it got worse the more I went on. But did I stop?

Noooooooo.....of course not.
description

The sequel took the book one over the top and did it Pee Wee's Big Over the Top adventure! I wanted to just exit out of the book and stop myself from delving further into the craziness, but hell if that's what I did! I was more like this....

They can't be together again! It's the phrase of the day! YAY!!!!!!

After reading these back to back, I need a bottle of wine, a couple xanax, and a goo old fashion slasher horror book to bring back the balance.

Whew.

If you have not read book #1 Groupie you must do so before reading Rock Star otherwise you will ruin the wonderful experience of devouring these books and enjoying them as they are meant to be read.

**Contains Spoilers**

I literally devoured Groupie and was so anxious to read Rock Star so Vanni and Andy could get back together and have their HEA. WOW.... was I in for one major shock!!
I must admit after Graham literally took a bullet for Andy and Vanni cheated yet AGAIN, I was riding the fence on my love/hate feelings for Vanni. I'm still not convinced he loves Andy the way she deserves to be loved. But Andy drives me crazy too. I mean really??? How many times are you going to let him use you as his door mat? How many girls does he need to have on his arm and in his bed before you say enough is enough?

And then there is the absolutely beautiful man, Graham who loves Andy. He adores her. He waits and waits and waits....Yet Andy's heart belongs to another doesn't it?

Oh my how this book frustrated the absolute crap out of me!! I am all for a book that makes me "feel" and you better believe, this book made me "Feel", but it was almost too much. Very rarely do I let a book get me so worked up that I have to stop, take a break, then come back to it, but this one done it. Yep, I had to take a break, get some fresh air and clear my head before I could finish this one.

I'm still not sure which team Im on either. Team Vanni or Team Graham. Both men have very appealing qualities. I think Graham really loves Andy and he would spend every day of his life working at making her happy. Vanni on the other hand??? I'm not sure. Oh, don't get me wrong, I love hm too. He is sexy as heck, romantic, and at times seems to give his heart to Andy on a silver platter, but you know that old saying right? "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".

Only time will tell and lucky for us, Mrs. Voight is gifting us with a third book "Mogul" that I have read will be out Feb/March 2013.

Someone please tell me where The Groupie/Rockstar angst filled Anonymous group is, because I must be whacked to put myself through this a second time! I thought Vanni was insensitive in Groupie, but Andy topped his poor behavior in the guise of sympathy and guilt. She allowed herself to be manipulated and why wouldn't she fight for what she needed? Despite this, there was quite a bit of personal growth in several of the characters, especially Vanni. Vanni was much more real and vulnerable. The storyline went in directions I unanticipated, but thank God, most everyone decided what was most important by the end. The ending was surprising, as I didn't realize there must be a third book in the works.

What a rollercoaster!!

I have never known a book with so many manipulative, self centred, horrible people who were determined to keep two people apart.

Leo, Holly, Julian, Graham. I still haven't worked out in my mind who is the worst of the lot.

Andy needed to make up her mind sooner grrrr her procrastinating and the fact that she let everyone manipulate her made me want to throw the kindle through the window. And communication people, boy all the grief Andy and Vanni put us through because they would not talk to each other made me want to slam their heads together.

They need their HEA, but I think it is going to be another topsy turvy read with the Mogul......

Felt like reading old fashioned Mexican soap opera. I was rolling my eyes almost throughout all the book, but at the same time I kept reading it.
What's wrong with me? If I only new :D
Writing is so bad (although slightly better than the first book, but still didn't enjoy). So many typing errors. And what's up with the author repeating herself. I think by now we all got that Andy is curvy and Vani likes it and Andy can't imagine her life without him blah blah blah. Honestly I think it would have been a decent standalone if she'd have put all three books together, throwing out repetitive parts and a few of those flat "inner turmoils".
Totally do not recommend this book to anyone. There are so many good books out there with a rockstar theme etc. But... if you are a soap opera fan and don't mind a few headbands against the wall, please, open The Groupie trilogy and read on! ;)

Can you say Drama? So between wanting to scream at both Andy and Vanni and then reach into my Kindle to shake them to their senses - I was a wreck. I even sneered at my husband when he interrupted my reading (I may have growled). So you have the 2 leads who think all the perfect things to say - but when they open their mouths they can't stutter out anything that could be a game changer. They fail to explain their reasons or motives and it is going to drive me insane.

I know Holly was suppose to be a likable character to introduce - I did not like her from the first encounter. I won't go too much into her role in the plot though. I knew that Andy was chasing a star from book one that might not be captured; but I was Team Andy from the start and any female interests were not worthy for me to even begin to like.

This book took you, your heart and your emotions all over the place. I made the mistake of looking into the release date for Mogul and by accident skimmed the first few lines of the summary - that sort of ruined it for me.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. You will get the idea on your own from the first book, but it takes all the fun out of it. I can't wait for book 3 to see how this explosive story is going to finish. My heart is now invested in this story and it is going to be an intense ride.

This book was BRUTAL. Absolutely painfully brutal and I loved every minute of it. I actually had to take breaks during the day from reading because it was torture. I finished it in one day because I just had to know how it all ends. After everything they had been through I just had to know how it was going to end. After finishing the Avoiding Series and the Love Me With Lies series I didn't think I'd find another book so full of angst, drama, and chaos, until now. At times I felt like I just couldn't take it anymore and wanted to call it quits. But that was impossible. Voight keeps you coming back for more and more. Definitely not for the weak of heart and not for those looking for an easy HEA.

As much as I loved Groupie and Andy and Vanni's story, I just couldn't get into this book. In fact I am still trying to finish it. To go from a 1st person point of view to 3rd person nearly ruined the whole experience for me. In groupie, I was dieing to know what Vanni was thinking the entire story. So when I opened Rock Star to the first page, my heart nearly jumped out of my chest and hit the floor to see the first chapter from Vanni's point of view- that is until I started reading. When I get a book written in third person it ruins the entire book for me. I find I cannot get emotionally attached to these characters nor do I feel I can get the whole reading experience. I was utterly disappointed. I feel as though I don't even want to finish this book now. Which devastates me. HOWEVER, I will finish it. I can't pick up a book and not finish it. I feel I owe it to the author to at least try. So if you're anything like me, be aware that this book is third person narrative and make your decision as to whether it is actually worth reading before you spend money on it.

Whew! I am wore out after reading the Groupie/ Rock Star bundle during the past 48 hrs. This book had a lot more heartbreak and destruction than the first one which may be why I liked it better.I'm a glutton for angst and turmoil and I received heavy doses of them in this book.

I liked Vanni better in this book. I was able to separate the arrogant, flirty, womanizer in the band from the romantic, kind, sexy and somewhat damaged man and therefore, I understood Vanni more. Wish I could say the same about Andy. She just flat-out drove me crazy with her indecisiveness. I wanted to scream at her to put her big girl panties on and fight for the one she loves.

This series is definately worth reading. Can't wait to see what's next for the band, Andy & Vanni, Graham and of course Holly.

I purchased this as a bundle with Groupie for my Nook and I was taken on such an emotional rollercoaster that no matter how much I wanted to put the book down and walk away that I couldn't. I had to know if Graham, Leo, and Holly would get taken down a level or five.

Graham manipulates, Leo is a sleeze, and Holly is a real piece of work. Turns out, so is her "brother" Julian.

While Andy and Vanni are no angels in all of this, the crap they are all put through because of Leo, Holly, and Julian is real art.

I would have liked to have seen someone, anyone, uncover Holly's antics sooner though... the books were too long for me but I still want more of this story

This rock experience had it all- sex, booze, betrayl, mixed communication and a "sexy Rock God". So how come I have such an Angst headache? The story continues from the first part, Groupie. You get to experience how fame and power corrupts; how indulging in excess destroys and how so many of the characters in this saga can't seem to be truthful or direct with one another. There are strong plot points and great payoffs along the way. What keeps it all togeher is the writing and realness of this rock trip. But the Angst..... The series will be finishing with Mogul. I will need to renew my precription of medication as I will want to know what the finish has in store for me.

Feels like this #2 was not necessary. It was basically the same as #1 throughout and was not necessary other than the end’s development. Brought in another crazed “groupie” behavior that was similar to 1st book.

Too much narrative, hardly any conversation. Have a hard time following whose POV author is taking when it is not the person that is stated at beginning of chapter.

I didn't like the reasonings why they couldnt announce they were together, it just didn't ring true and was just the authors way of keeping them apart.

I read this immediately after reading Groupie. This one had me more frustrated with some of the choices the characters were making. I spent a lot of time irritated with multiple characters. I did stay engaged in the story though, and things definitely went in an interesting direction. I will definitely be reading the next in the series when it comes out. Drama, angst, and entertainment. Good stuff.

4 - 4.5 Stars. I liked this book more than Groupie. In the end all the characters redeemed themselves. This books was more the story of Andy, Vanni and Graham rather than the rock star lifestyle. I'm actually a bit relieved the third book isn't out yet. I need an emotional break and from the way this book ended, there's sure to be more in the next book.

Wow, loved the ride. I need to take a book break after reading Groupie and Rock Star to let it all settle. Things are never easy with a "bad boy" but Gianni lingers as the most frustratingly self absorbed character I have read in a longtime. I was rooting for him but at the same time I wanted to slap him. Kudos to the author, I can't wait for book three.

I'm happy right now, Lord knows I have been through enough with this crazy sad love story. I gotta step away from this series for a moment because Rock Star ended on a good note(sort of) and I can't take any more shit thrown Andy and Vanni 's way right now. I need to purge myself from these characters grief and misery for a moment. I'll come back to Mogul in a week or two.
