The book throws the reader into a whirlwind of Daniel’s thoughts as they travel with him through the trials Number Two places in his path. Up against an army of aliens who seem to be the demons from the Bible, human bounty hunters who have been turned against him, and the trials of teenage love Daniel must defeat Abbadon.
When he meets Mel Judge, daughter of the FBI IOU Agent Judge, he’s face to face with his dream girl while the girl from his dreams, Dana, seems to be diving into a relationship with his best friend.
As the book progresses Daniel loses almost everything. When is father’s spiritual adviser is seemingly murdered and the “love of his life” is kidnapped before his eyes Daniel is consumed by his hate of Number Two.
When his father reveals to him that this is the last time he’ll be able to speak with him during the trek to Abbadon’s lair Daniel, and he reader, are in for a lot of inner turmoil.
His father won’t leave him with nothing though.
Graff’s last minutes with his son are fruitful and informative and he tells his son what he’s up against.
Number Two is truly the Devil.
Under many aliases Abbadon has raged through history.
Beelzebub? Yup, that’s him. The Prince of Darkness? That’s him too. Iblis? Angra Mainyu? The Destroyer? Check, check, and check.
But if Number Two is the Devil then what is Number One, the murderer of Daniel’s parents?
Daniel’s father tells him the simple answer.
Number One of The List, The Prayer, is a deity. In short? A god.
Telling the story of his death Graff advises his son just like his spiritual adviser.
The Prayer was the one who had given Daniel’s parents the list in the first place and he is also the one who updates it constantly.
Hit by this sudden revelation Daniel checks The List. All the information on Number Two that had been previously classified by an unknown source has been revealed.
The second most evil and powerful alien on Earth originated from Daniel’s own home planet!
They both share the same powers but instead of creating like Daniel, Number Two busies himself with destruction.
Daniel’s simple solution? He listens to his father’s advice and finds Number Two’s weakness.
Alpar Nokians are not immortal. They never have and never will be.
Abbadon was an alien who wanted to be immortal and so he turned to the one alien who seemed like they could grant his wish.
The Prayer.
The Prayer granted Abbadon more years in return for entertainment.
The Holocaust, the deaths in Cambodia, all the terrible wars and massacres in the History of Earth had been carefully watched and egged on by Number Two.
But if Daniel can imagine it, he can make it happen.
And so Daniel imagined the death of Number Two and BAM! That’s exactly what he got.
