I take back what I said about Mel, I don't particularly dislike her because of the revelations Daniel makes at the end of the book.
But damn this book was good, if a little abrupt. Especially since there's literally one book to the conclusion. And somethings kinda happened without a book warning. Like Daniel's parents and friends dying. Yes, they are actually gone. Except for Dana apparently
To be honest, I kinda felt bad for Will, throughout this book, I don't think he did anything that was remotely important, except that he had a huge crush on Dana. I mean, Emma was a pacifist (sorta), Joe had a huge appetite and could work electronics like magic, but Will? I have no idea.
Plus, the whole series took a huge turn. I thought only aliens were the 'bad guys', apparently there's a whole bunch of other plot magic. like number 1 being a God, who likes watching evenly matched opponents fight, so he gives creators a tablet, 'the list', so they can try to eliminate the opponents on the list, for his entertainment, unbeknownst to them
Despite all the abruptness in the plot, it's still a good book, and I really don't want to have to say goodbye by the next book.

TBH I was all prepared to not enjoy this book at all. The standard of James Patterson books seems to be steadily declining the more and more books he produces, and this certainly seems to be the case with his children's book's, especially this series which has thus far not been the best work ever written. But alas I soldiered on for the mere reason it's a James Patterson and despite his drop in quality I find myself reading through everything he churns out.

And for the first half of this book I was not disapointed, it was the same old same old trash that James Patterson disguises as books these days. A main character with such an over inflated ego that it borders on a god complex and a plot and events so stupid that they are unbeliavable even in a kids book where the main character is an extra-terristrial hunting down other alien outlaws on the planet.

But about half way through the book takes a change in direction and starts to focus on various differnt legends from past cultures throughout history with regards to Satan and hell. The plot was still absurd but the references to all these myths started to make the book interesting. I especially liked all the references to Dante's Inferno and found myself thinking of the copy of "The Divine Comedy" that has been sat on my bookcase for atleast two years and thinking that I must get round to reading it one day.

All these references were interisting enough that the completely flat climax to this story didn't bother me that much. This really wasn't the best book ever written but it whiled away a few days and had a few interesting points dotted around here and there.

It'd be much easier if, instead of telling you why I subtracted three stars, I told you why I added two stars. For one, as insignificant as the cover may seem, it was the only reason I bought the book in the first place. The publishers did their job amazingly. The story, however, was pure silliness. I might have liked it very much if I had read it in fifth grade. Unfortunately, right now, the whole plot seems pretty cliche and unreasonable to me. The only thing I did enjoy in the plot was character sketch. Daniel was well-drawn and his character was the only thing that kept me going, along with Will's and Dana's of course. I mean, who could hate them?

I’m starting to realise that this series is vey plot focused and lacking on character development. It just feels like there are sooo many things that happen, that it’s so hard to follow along with everything. I’m feeling as though I’m not enticed to read this series, but I’m so close now to the end that I will finish it. I did enjoy that Daniel found a romance with Mel and that his realisation at the end that she is Dana his dream girl was pretty cute. It was sad he said goodbye to his family and will no longer manifest them. I was a bit shocked how number 2 is actually the devil. Will Daniel get number 1 next like he intends... let’s see!

I struggled at first trying to remember what all happened before this book, but I was able to figure it out pretty fast. This one was definitely slower then the rest if the books, but I'm glad we finally got some background information on Daniel's parents, specifically his father. Plus we discover Dana's soul is in Mel. I wonder what happened to the rest of Daniel's friends though.

The fourth book in the Daniel X series by James Patterson tells the story of Daniel X going up against his hardest alien yet, A strong evil devil also known as number two on the alien bounty list. The genre of Daniel X: Armageddon would have to be Syfy or science fiction; this is because the story is about a teenager fighting aliens and talks a ton about science-related things.
When Daniel first starts his story in this book, he finds the girl that he is slightly in love with. The other books in this series almost always show Daniel falling in love with his friend Dana who he creates with one of his special powers. So, this starts a conflict between Dana and Daniel and Daniel might regret that his connection between Dana and him is weaker when he will need her the most. Daniel finds out Number Two has a secret underground base where he keeps his army of alien soldiers. Number two has these soldier because he wants to take over the Planet Earth once his army is big enough, so Daniel needs to stop the devil's plan before it is too late. Luckily for Daniel, he won't have to fight this war by himself, Daniel has managed to get connections to a powerful military and intelligence groups around the world. This will all lead to an intense showdown between number two with his alien army and Daniel X with his powerful military that follows him.
This book is a four star. The reason for this is because it was well written and always manages to keep your attention. The style that it was written in is very good and a nice easy way to stop when you need to without making you have to read page after page just to find a good spot to stop. There is a great storyline involved in the series and it continues to be great with this book. Daniel fighting against a devil and his army of goons is an amazing attention grabber, who doesn’t want to read a story of a teenager with superpowers going against a devil. Therefore this book is a four star with lots of action and a good storyline.

I miss reading this series. I finally trying to finish it. I think Daniel's abilities are even though he has waaaay too many of them. He's like Superman with more powers and can manifest and manipulate matter. I like the Kentucky setting and that it's summertime. I like the Witch and Wizard easteregg and the shout out to Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series at the end. Also, I totally knew where Number 2 was from. It was pretty obvious.

Penultimate book in this series is as depressingly bad as the previous entry in a story that is non sensical and dull with no redeeming characters and nothing to really warrant your interest. I will make it to the end of the series, somehow, but gosh Patterson Inc is really stretching my patience here.

The fifth book of the Daniel X series allows you to see what sacrifices must be made in order to achieve victory. Fueled by his love of Terra Firma, the Earth, Daniel must go up against the strongest alien he’s fought yet. Number Two on The List. Throwing away all that he thought he knew Daniel must face Number Two, under the name Abbadon, who seems to be the Devil himself.
The book throws the reader into a whirlwind of Daniel’s thoughts as they travel with him through the trials Number Two places in his path. Up against an army of aliens who seem to be the demons from the Bible, human bounty hunters who have been turned against him, and the trials of teenage love Daniel must defeat Abbadon.
When he meets Mel Judge, daughter of the FBI IOU Agent Judge, he’s face to face with his dream girl while the girl from his dreams, Dana, seems to be diving into a relationship with his best friend.

Beelzebub? Yup, that’s him. The Prince of Darkness? That’s him too. Iblis? Angra Mainyu? The Destroyer? Check, check, and check.

Surprisingly I liked this book. I didn't think this book would really be that great because of, well, the name but it was actually pretty good. I liked how Daniel almost lost. Kind of sad that he ended up winning anyways.
This book starts with him infiltrating a building where Abbadon is hiding out and talking to his army on how he is planning to enslave the world. Daniel leaves with Abbadon's army and ends up fighting one of Abbadon's fighters. He meets Agent Judge and finds out that Agent Judge was his fathers old friend. Daniel and his friends go to Agent Judges farm where he meets Xanthos who was his fathers spiritual advisor. Abbadon starts to destroy Washington D.C. so Daniel, his friends and Agent Judge plus his daughter go with some army men to check it out. They fight some of Abbadon's minions and Mel saves them. Daniel splits to 4 versions of himself to fight the 4 versions of Abbadon that have appeared on the world. He goes and fights Abbadon in NYC and finds out that Addadon can go forward in time. Later after Mel has been captured Daniel, his friends, Agent Judge and a force of 150 men go to the gates of Hell. While Daniel is bouncing through time he gains bits of information. Soon Abbadon catches up and the fight. Daniel is told the secret to kill Abbadon from Abbadon himself. Daniel imagines Abbadon dead and he dies. Everything that Abbadon imagined destroyed was recreated.
Ok that was long but this book was good. Cool bai

Daniel is fighting number 2 on the list of the world's most dangerous aliens. He's got some help this time from the US government. The entire world is in danger of being taken over by #2 so Agent Judge has brought the troops together to aid Daniel. The agents daughter Mel becomes close to Daniel also aiding him. But the problem is that people are following and joining #2 against Daniel. yes, they feel threatened and are trying to save their lives but the throngs of followers are a surprise to Daniel. How can humans go so easily toward the dark, the evil? They become violent as they take the side of #2.
Daniel finds out information from his father that is vital but also makes Daniel worry that there's no way he will be able to beat #2, even with all the help he's getting.

Honestly I really liked the first book. I really did. It was fun I loved the powers Daniel had and I loved the attention to detail. 5/5 stars for the first book. But as I read the rest of the series I began to notice a pattern. In every single book the villain will tell Daniel that he's too weak and shouldn't go against him. But of course he doesn't listen and goes and fight the alien. And every time he looses. He's weak and he's about to give up when an old wise alien or family member gives him an encouraging speech. Then Daniel goes against the villain gain and wise super easily. Overall I loved the powers and it was a lot of fun to imagine it in my head. But it was just kind of predicable.

I have recently read this book and I'd like to tell you a little about it. The main character is a 14 year old named Daniel, Daniel is from another planet where anything they can imagine happens. Before he was born his parents moved to Earth or, as the aliens call it, Terra Firma. When they came to the planet they took a vow to protect it from the invading creatures. When the person at the top of their list killed them both, Daniel has to take over and protect the planet from #2 on his list.
How I felt about this book is really good it is probably the best book I've read in a while. I would recommend this to anyone who really likes action books.

Even though I'm giving this book three stars because it's not that well-written in my opinion, this is such a guilty pleasure. The main character, Daniel, is so overpowered it's ridiculous, and the super short chapters make it cut off so suddenly that everything feels unnecessarily suspenseful. This is consistent across the whole series, but I love all these books for it.

This book is pretty good for a penultimate book, I'd put it above the first three books in the series. It's all about the ride for these books though, so the characters aren't that memorable besides Daniel.

Ol' James Patterson outdid himself with this entry. It was a little slow at first, but it was remedied by the chapters being shortened. If only other authors did this. Could help with the filler. Seeing Daniel going up against a member of his race, not only that but one with a similar power to him. Nice twist. Daniel is definitely growing up. Leaving behind some loved ones; moving on to a girl who is...well, not in his imagination; and taking charge of his own destiny, moving on from the trauma The Prayer has afflicted upon him. Can't wait to see how this wraps up.

This is one of the best books in the series. I know a lot of people'll disagree with me, but I don't care. This book was amazing. I also know that a lot of people weren't big fans of the co-writer Chris Grabenstein's writing style. I really enjoyed the writing style. But that's because most of the James Patterson books I read are written with Chris Grabenstein so I'm used to his writing style. But the story is really interesting to read as a Christian since the main villain is literally Satan. It's such a challenge for Daniel cuz you can never truly defeat the devil. He is everywhere. And it wasn't really JP's best plot twist since it was kind of obvious from the start of the book that Number 2 was Satan. Overall a very interesting story.

Good versus evil; light vs dark. An alien/humanoid is tasked with killing demon alien predators. The first four books were apparently filled with those Daniel X (and probably his father) already tracked down and slew. This one focuses on the #2 - aka Satan - who happens to be from the same planet as Daniel and who has the same powers, making their face-off move challenging. It was a trip through Dante's Inferno and how light triumphs over dark, good over evil.
