In Disastrous, Marcus and Mia had passion, they had steam- and they had issues, all because of the secrets they kept. This time, those secrets aren’t going to get in the way. This time, things will be different for the two of them- they hope.
“No more secrets or lies.”

She was all I’d ever wanted and needed. There was no way I was ever letting her go again.

Marcus and Mia went through so much in the first book. If you haven’t read Disastrous, I recommend it- this book is not a stand alone. The obstacles they had to face seemed like too much for any couple to handle. They love each other, and are both willing to do anything to make it work. Marcus knows he screwed up. He is trying to find ways to make amends for it. He can’t imagine his life without Mia. I loved that they spent some time ‘dating’ and really getting to know each other in the beginning of the book.
"I'm trying to find a way to have her forgive me for all I've done, because in the end she was always too good for me, in the end I never deserved her."

Marcus is two different people living two different lives. On one hand, he is a top notch attorney, dating the lovely Mia, who has a mother and brother and niece who love him. The other side is much darker. He has connections to Lou Sorrento, who is essentially the mob, and no matter what he tries... he finds that getting out isn’t easy. It’s almost impossible. Almost. Marcus is willing to do anything to get out of that life. He knows Mia deserves better, and he doesn’t want her worrying about anything. He has a plan. A plan that he keeps Mia out of. He can’t be distracted and he doesn’t want her fretting over it. Mia knows Marcus is hiding something from her. No more secrets. No more lies. What do you do when the love of your life is keeping something huge from you? Especially when all the secrets nearly tore down your relationship before.
Sometimes you just had to crawl through the dark before you could see the light.

The prologue... I only have one word for that... INTENSE. I was nervous most of the book- just waiting for that to happen. When it did it was just crazy!

I enjoyed Marcus and Mia’s story. Love the two of them together. Marcus had me seriously swooning most of the book.
“I can’t promise you that life won’t try to take a stab at you, that you won’t run through a few obstacles, and that you won’t feel like quitting at times. But I can promise you that, with each stab, I’ll be there to heal the wound. With each obstacle, I’ll be running right beside you. And every time you fall, I’ll be right there to pick you up.”

It was great to catch up with some of the characters from book one; Jimmie, Elle, Jeremy, Megan... A lot of loose ends were tied up. Things got crazy, intense, but I loved the ending. Things couldn’t have turned out better. Overall, a wonderful sequel. Want to know my favorite part of the book??? It was written in dual pov- yes, we got half of the book from Marcus’s perspective so thank you for that!!! :D

I had the privilege of being E.L. Montes' critique partner for the second installment of Marcus and Mia's story. And what a journey it was...

"Perfect."
"You didn't even take a look." I looked up at him through my lashes.
He smiled, "I meant you."

Marcus

Ohhhhh where to begin? Marcus and Mia's story picks up exactly where Disastrous left off. We continue on with the story of their lives together, the obstacles they face, and shocking revelations about the past.

In delving into Cautious, you are immediately gripped from the beginning. The Prologue sets the mood with such an intense scene, you can't help but picture it over and over again and wonder when we find out what happens. Throughout the story I found myself laughing, yelling, crying, shouting and having my heart broken...

We get to reconnect with old characters, like Jeremy, who never disappoints in his sarcasm and quick wit; along with Jimmie (SWOON), all of his serious stature and all out hotness. I found I fell more in love with Jimmie and his daughter, Elle, in this second installment. We also have the pleasure of being introduced to new characters as well...Some of which I fell completely in love with as their part in the story unfolded.

It was a wonderful and sickening desire that jabbed at my heart: wonderful because I could never have enough of him. Sickening, because if I were to ever lose him, there was no way I could recover from the pain.

Mia

As the story continues, we get to find out Marcus' inner demons. We see more of the side that has him split in two. The side that wants to be everything he can be for her within his power; and the side that tears him away from her, the side in which scares him from being able to be all he knows she deserves.

"I'm trying to find a way to have her forgive me for all I've done, because in the end she was always too good for me, in the end I never deserved her."

What do you do when you aim to have a relationship built on trust but know something is being hidden? What happens when your world changes in an instant and you no longer know which way is up? What happens when you love someone so much you will stand at nothing to get answers, to defend them in any way possible?

Intense. For a time I felt my heart rate picking up speed at what my eyes witnessed as I scanned over from page to page.

Gripping. Although there were some laugh out loud moments, a lot of smiles throughout, and some great jokes to break up the intensity, I was hooked.

Emotional. There were a range of emotions I felt from cover to cover. Marcus and Mia grew as a couple and I loved seeing that
communication and trust take place within their story. Seeing their love grow and mature into something more was a beautiful thing to witness.

Hot. What would Marcus and Mia be without some steamy scenes? There were a couple of scenes that had me fanning myself and grabbing for a glass of ice cold water...What would Marcus be without his playful sexy nature right?

"Feel offended, very offended and just take it out on me in bed."

All in all, I felt this was a great closing to Marcus and Mia. It had everything you would expect from them. I appreciated all of the turns the story took me on. I cared so deeply for the love they had for one another. I felt the pain for the situations that tested them beyond measure. Ultimately, I fell in love all over again with the two imperfect people who form a perfect couple for each other.

Five stars from me for a sequel brilliantly told!

In my review of Disastrous, I said: Passion, heartache, laughter, tears, drama, intrigue. Disastrous had it ALL. In Cautious be prepared for the same!

When you have a love that is like breathing you take care of it. You protect it with every fiber of your being. That is what draws me most to Marcus...

"We're in this together, always, and no matter how many times it feels like a struggle we'll fight through it together, because we deserve to be happy. You deserve all of the happiness life will bring you."

4 1/2 DeLuca Stars

description

If you’re a fan of Marcus and Mia than this sequel was well worth the wait!

In Disastrous, things happened pretty fast for this couple. They had an instant love connection, crazy passion, fights that were intense and of course SECRETS.

”Our relationship wasn’t fucking hearts and flowers. We weren’t skipping around town holding hands. We argued all the time. At times, she frustrated me and drove me insane. At others, she made my heart swell, and I couldn’t stay away.”

The sequel is told in alternating povs of Mia and Marcus and this time they are stronger and dedicated to get their relationship right! Mia and Marcus are on the same page in this sequel and I enjoyed how their relationship evolved into so much more than physical attraction.

”No more secrets or lies.”

”Telling you how I feel is a major one, but I’m also trying to do all of this without having to hand over my man card.”

They date, make fun bets, take a road trip and they are still SIZZLING together.

Sadly, things with Uncle Lou and the mob are getting pretty sticky and come to a head.

The book starts with a BANG which has a reader on edge waiting to catch up to that terrifying scene throughout the book.

Marcus is still the same alpha, impulsive guy who wants to protect Mia. Their love knows no bounds.

“There might be rocky times, but we would get past them together and never give up, because love – and not just any love, but our love – was worth fighting for.”

Overall, this was a well done conclusion to Marcus and Mia’s story. E.L. Montes does a fantastic job of writing the action packed scenes which will have a reader on edge as well as male pov of Marcus.

P.S. I’m still crushing hard on Jimmie DeLuca! I am looking forward to his promised novella:

Can love survive secrets and can trust be regained

Marcus DeLuca wants Mia's trust.

Mia also wants more trust this time. Can Marcus give her that.

With so many secrets between them, it may be harder than they think.

He needs to protect her. By doing just that he may push her further away
 photo imagesjpgooo_zps41db152e.jpg

After deciding that they can't live without each other Marcus and Mia decide to give love and their relationship a second chance.
Marcus will do everything in his power this time to make it right.
Mia is willing to let go of the past to move forward again and the love she feels for Marcus will it be enough.
Marcus is not only still keeping his law firm going but he is still under the control, along with his brother Jimmie, of Lou the main man running organised crime.

As much as Marcus wants to leave that side of his life and his involvement in the organised crime, he knows it won't be that easy.
With Mia's discovery now of past events it wont be long until Marcus makes that decision.

You feel the love these two have for each other. I loved the Mafia involvement entwined into the story.
Also the twist in the last few chapters.

E.L. Montes another great story and I'm looking forward to Jimmies next.....

Four and a half hot Marcus stars!!!

BOOM – The prologue of Cautions is going to blow you away…I am going to remain spoiler free and not ruin it for you Marcus and Mia fans. Just be prepared to have your heart beat out of your chest.

Emmy Montes second book Cautious picks up right where Marcus and Mia’s story left off in Disastrous (book 1). Their steamy roller coaster ride of a romance continues with the couple having to work on their relationship issues and themselves. Mia is Cautious. She loves Marcus and wants to move forward with a relationship that is built trust. Mia is so in love with Marcus but is frustrated and tired of the lies and secrets that surround his “other job” as a high ranking mafia figure. Marcus has built some walls around his head and heart…which has Mia has managed to break through…but she needs more….she needs full disclosure in order to have a future with him.
Sexy as hell Marcus battles so many inner demons from having to live two separate lives. He struggles with booze, his family, mafia obligations and most of all he wonders if he is really good enough for Mia.

Mia and Marcus’ passion filled love story unravels from alternating POV. I think I love Marcus even more since getting into his head and heart. You can’t help but want everything to work out for them…especial after reading how deep his love is for Mia. They are so full of passion. They love hard, fight hard and have make-up sex down to a science. Dayum….I think they fight just to make up. Remember that prologue I mentioned earlier? Well the shit is going to hit the fan and it’s going to get pretty intense.

I have some big fan girl love for Emmy Montes and her second book does not disappoint. I would recommend re-reading the end of book one of you haven’t read Disastrous recently. You probably won’t have too…It’s not you it’s just me. I’m just crispy, having a blond moment and suffering short term memory loss. Seriously, this is a must read for Marcus, Mia and Disastrous fans. No cliffhanger (whew). There is another book/novella planned in this series called “Fighting to Stand” due out late fall 2013 or spring 2014!

Rating Clarification: 3.5 Stars

Well, this second installment picks up right after the end of the first one.
We have Marcus and Mia trying to rekindle their relationship and fighting for their love at the same time that Marcus “extra activities” make everything harder for them.
So, at the same time that he is looking for a way to have a happy ending with Mia, he is also trying to get out of his second life because he knows that’s the only way it’s going to achieve it.

Okay, this book was good. Not as good as the first but good nonetheless.
The prologue and the epilogue were great (seriously, best parts of the book), there was the romance, the steam… but there were parts along the book that it became a little boring and seemed that nothing was happening.
Anyway, it was a very nice conclusion to the series and I liked to see how their story came to an ending with all the obstacles that they got in their way.

Go read it, now! ;)

Amazing!

Joint review from www.theromancecover.com

We've decided to do this review a little bit different that we usually do. We are going to share with you the messages we sent each other whilst we were reading the book so you can see what we were going through, and then we'll share our conversation after we'd all finished!

Willow: Have you guys read the prologue? OMG!!
Donna: The Prologue is badddddddddddd :-(
Willow: I know WTH? I love that E's done it again, though this prologue is more shocking!!
Donna: Will probably finish today, but I'm scared!
Willow: I'm scared too!
Dawn: OMG who was that in the prologue!!! This better be a HEA!!
Donna: I'm now at 60% and bricking it!
Dawn: Oh no!
Donna: Only because I feel something bad is going to happen!!
Willow: I'm only at 25% but E can't do this to us can she???
Dawn: I hope not. In the prologue was that Marcus or Mia?
Donna: Or not them at all?
Willow: I assumed Marcus was narrating, but it's not clear.
Dawn: I thought it was Mia narrating?!
Donna: I thought Mia too
Willow: Im going back to re-read!
Donna: Ooooo 70% think this is where it hits the fan! Need to take a breather.
Donna: OMG 86%...........
Dawn: Stop it I'm only 4%!! lol
Willow: No no no Donna!!
Donna: I'm on the Epilogue now and only answered a few emails today I'm sooo bad - it was just too good to put down.
Willow: I'm so Jealous right now Donna!!
Donna: Finished!
Dawn: Are you happy or sad?
Donna: There were some sad bits and some happy bits lol
Dawn: I think in the prologue it was Mia speaking, he calls her Babe, she calls him Baby.
Donna: Not saying
Dawn: Gaaaaaaah!!!
Dawn: I need to know about that prologue - we'll ask E in her interview whether she writes the prologue first or the book first and adds the prologue
Willow: Once again the prologue is genius!
Dawn: I'm dying to know what "the" secret is! And they are sure to find out the other one knew about it and they really wont be happy!!
Dawn: 57% and Gaaaaah! The way she's writing it is keeping the secret from us! I just want to know!!
Willow: lol I felt like that, it's coming I promise! :-)
Willow: Wait until you get to around 83%, there's a line there that killed me! let me know when you get there!
Dawn: Gaaaaaah! I thought he was going to tell Jimmie on the phone, not skirt around it!
Willow: It is genius how she keeps you guessing though don't you think?
Dawn: I got to that line! "My deepest regret that night...." right?
Donna: Awwww sob sob sob!
Willow: Yep that's the line that broke my heart!
Dawn: I'm Scared.
Dawn: OMG they're going to walk in on it aren't they?
Donna: Have you got Kleenex? I cried lots
Dawn: Willow you've a heart of stone did you cry?
Willow: As you say I'm a cold hearted bitch, I didn't cry but I was extremely upset. I think the non crying was just shock more than anything. I just couldn't believe it!

And here's the discussion we had after:

Willow: The thing I loved about this book and Disastrous is although you have the story Marcus and Mia's relationship, there is just so much other stuff going on that grips you.

Dawn: I know I love all the side characters. Jeremy is funny. And Elle is so cute. It's good we get to see Mia building relationships with her family too in this one. And I felt for Marcus more in this one. He really doesn't want that life but he's trapped in it with very little options to get out. But he tries his hardest because he loves Mia and want a better life for them than his mum and dad had.

Donna: I felt that Marcus matured a lot in this book although I did feel that his reaction to "the secret" was not like him..he has led the family for so long I just felt that he would have reacted a bit differently. I did really feel for him though...I cried at his turmoil

Willow: I agree Donna, Marcus did seem much more mature in this book, but I get what you are saying about his reaction. The relationships with the other DeLucas was lovely to see - I am excited that EL has decided to do a book on Jimmies story. As you know I'm a sucker for alternative points of view in a story and I loved that Cautious does this, you get to feel both characters highs and lows.

Dawn: Jimmies story will be good. He's a great character and has had some tough times and I think Ellie is going to give him some more!! Ha ha Hope he finds love too though. Yeah the alternate POV is good. It means there's no gaps in the story and you're not left wondering what the other on is thinking or feeling. I felt Mia had grown a pair in this book too. She was much more willing to try for their relationship despite what Marcus did in his "other" life. She still didn't like it but was more willing to give it a go I thought.

Willow: So Dawn after Donna was warning you about Kleenex, did you cry?

Dawn: Of course!!! U know I cry at anything!! Lol

Donna: I went through a box of tissues and had red eye for ages...again I cried at the epilogue as well. I am wondering what will happen after the event with a certain character...I cannot see it being let go especially as there was no "punishment". Marcus did something that was so right yet so wrong but understand why he did it. I am just worried about the future repercussions.

Willow: Perhaps this is what we'll see in Jimmie's story?

Our Rating and Final thoughts:
Willow: Definitely 5 stars without a doubt. I couldn't put it down, I loved it. It's a great story and if you haven't read them you must! I <3 EL and will read anything she puts out there.
Dawn: 5 stars from me too. It's so much more than just a romance book. And we need more of them like this. I'll be waiting in line for her next one out.
Donna: 5 stars! One word: Amazeballs.

I was torn between two and three stars. for me a 2.5 seemed okay.

this one was slightly better than its prequel but I'm still not really happy with this book. the characters are shallow and not deep enough. I truly hate Mia... really really hate her. I wont go into detail why.. I just hated her, okay here comes a little detail: she is shallow, immature, volatile, superficial, childish, hypocritical and selfish to name just a few of her glorious qualities.
On the other hand I think Marcus and also Jimmie were done okay and more believable. I liked Marcus actually a lot. all the others: the supporting characters and minor roles had no depth whatsoever ...

the plot was very predictable and the "twists and turns" were clear a mile away... only one aspect surprised me but that was not enough to improve this book for me.

the sad thing is, that the story and the idea really had potential. It was a good idea and with a bit more time and detail and editing this could have been a really good book.

still I will keep an eye out for Ms Montes, because as mentioned she has some good ideas. I hope with a bit more experience the writing will get better.

I read Disastrous and Cautious both within two days, back to back. I couldn't put either one down; I was a like a woman possessed!

Right from the start E.L. sucks us in like a Dyson with the prologue! I was "Oh noooo'ing and "this has GOT to be a dream" from the start! I found myself reading holding my breath at times wondering when that part would happen. Oh and it's told from both Marcus & Mia's POV and you know how I LOVVEEEE a dual POV! I highly suggest you start this book when you have the time to read from start to finish uninterrupted. Cautious picks up after Disastrous leaves off. Mia and Marcus decide to give their relationship another try but, in order to keep from making the same mistakes again Mia decides she and Marcus need to remove the physical aspect from their relationship and focus on getting to know one another. Now...never fear the no nooky is only for two weeks and I promise you E.L. makes it up to us...the sex that occurs between these two through the entire book totally...

(is it getting hot in here?)

especially this one scene; You'll NEVER look at a movie theater the same way again.

Marcus is and ALWAYS will be a powerful, hot, sexy, successful alpha male and a man like that will
always make me wonder...

In Cautious one of the things I enjoyed seeing, was the slight change in Marcus. While he remains all of the things I mentioned above, he seem to mature a little more to me. I don’t know if E.L. intended this or not but,  it seems like he starts to thinks twice about his actions and how they’d affect him and subsequently Mia.

"I had this feeling deep down that I couldn’t live without her. When you finally find a person who makes you feel alive, how could you possibly breathe if she were gone? I knew I couldn’t."

We know the kind of life he lives and he FINALLY breaks down and tells Mia everything about his "other" life. She doesn't like it of course but she loves him and accepts him regardless which is one of the things I absolutely love about her! No matter what, she is 100% completely committed to him and their relationship and she's strong enough to deal with his lifestyle and still stand by her man and have his back through everything.

"You can’t help who you fall in love with. Yet I had fallen in love with a man that most women would run away from. Even after finding out about it all—his lifestyle, his involvement with the mafia, his knowledge of my brother’s death, and the constant lies—I fell in love with this man who had turned my world upside down in such a short period of time. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stay away, and I would never walk away again."

Now, while secrets come to light it opens the door for more threats to surface...we find out allies aren't who we really think they are and sometimes the best intentions and best laid plan go HORRIBLY wrong...at one point I was just a mess...

I was...

"I broke down, and I didn’t care how much less of a man it made me, because I wasn’t a man at all without her in my life. She made me more of a man than I could ever be. She was the reason that I wanted to start over again and become a better man."

At the time I wasn't sure if I wanted to hug or shake E.L. for making me feel what these characters were feeling so much, but now, I'd definitely go with hug. I love when a writer gives us such well written characters  plus a story that captivates you we don't read what they're feeling, we feel it right along with them and that's exactly what happened here. E.L truly has a talent in bringing her characters and story to life. Both Cautious and Disastrous have been hard for me to walk away from. I read them weeks ago but I can still remember everything like it was yesterday, I can't walk away from them. I keep finding myself going back to my Kindle  to re-read my favorite highlighted parts

Cautious is an absolute 5+ read for me

This is the second and final book in the Disastrous series. In the first book we were introduced to the life of Marcus and fell in love with him despite his family ties. Mia continues in college and is still the smart young woman that we also fell in love with in book one. This book takes their relationship a bit father as we go further forward into this dark and twisted world. I categorized this as a romantic suspense because right from the beginning, we know something big is going to happen and E.L. Montes does not disappoint.

Marcus:

Marcus is still hot as hell. He is an Italian lawyer who happens to be intimately connected to the mob. He is "Uncle Lou's" right hand man and is frequently called in to handle large transactions. In between these exchanges, Marcus and Mia continue to have a highly physical relationship. To say they have chemistry is rather mild...

Marcus wants to get out. He wants to lead a normal life. The only way that he knows to get out is to either die or turn snitch. He feels caught and he begins to wonder if he will ever be good enough for someone like Mia.

Mia loves Marcus and to her things seem clear cut. She wants Marcus to get out. She loves him but she is afraid of what will happen to him She sees the toll that his lifestyle is taking on him. Between the angst-filled dialogue Mia finds herself unable to resist the pull she feels toward Marcus.

Marcus must make difficult choices and in the end, his decision could be a matter of life and death for those he loves the most...

This was a suspense filled roller coaster ride with a hot Italian at the wheel. This installment was a not quite as good as the first one for me but it was still well worth it. This one has a flash forward moment where you get to see what is going to happen in the future and then are left hanging for the WHOLE book. In the end the series was neatly wrapped up and there were no strings left hanging.

Marcus is such a tortured soul who is constantly finding out that those who have been closest to him his entire life are not all that they have seemed. He also learns a lot about his family history that leaves him reeling. He feels the weight of the world on his shoulders. I just wanted to give him a hug and tell him it would all be ok.

This was a solid four star read for me. Hot chemistry, great dialogue and never ending twists and turns kept me glued to this book.

Cautious is the Sequel, after Disastrous. I don't really know what I thought about it.

Marcus is keeping secrets and Mia doesn't like it. As she shouldn't, she has been kept in the dark, and put through enough..

Marcus is sexy, and he loves Mia, but I just didn't feel like a whole lot happened in this book to keep me entertained. I love this authors writing, so it wasn't about that, I just think that I felt a little different about this one than I did the first one..

I am going to give it another read later, I also just finished a book yesterday and started this one right after, so maybe I just wasn't able to focus..

Still liked it though..

Waited a long time for this book to come out after reading Disastrous but it was worth the wait! I got everything I hoped for and it was a great read. I will say I should have gone back and read the whole book again (Disastrous) and not just the ending because I had forgotten some things. Happy to see that Jimmie will get a book and we will see more of Marcus and Mia.

READ. CAUTIOUS. If you haven't read Disastrous, read Disastrous and then READ CAUTIOUS! I have just overdosed on angst, flat-lined, heard the choir angels singing, and the last thing I need is a shot of adrenaline to bring me back. I don't want to return from the high that I just experienced with this book.

My heart thundered against my chest, my breathing increased, and sweat beaded along my skin.

When I began reading Cautious, the very prologue had me in utter heart-pounding fear for my beloved characters from Disastrous, prompting me to immediately email the author to talk about my ordeal. In fact, I can only remember two books in my past that had me gripped at the prologue, and those books were on my favorites of 2012 list, as was Disastrous. Needless to say, Cautious has certainly made the list of favorites for 2013.

I do love my mobsters, and Marcus DeLuca is one of my favorite gangsters and book boyfriends ever written. Marcus is back in Cautious as the gun-toting lawyer who is compelled by the mafia with one thing on his mind ... loving Mia. His love for Mia and his willingness to do all things right by her is heart warming. He knows the way to keeping Mia as his own is through honesty and trust, being open to share his feelings and his life with her. She has accepted his lifestyle and appreciates his genuine attempts at communication. This isn't something that is common among the mafia, but Mia means everything to Marcus, so he is trying his hardest to show Mia just how much she means to him. When Marcus begins to distance himself and hide things from Mia for her own safety, things begin to spiral out of control with the events that take place giving my own system a surge of energy that had my stomach dry heaving and my heart in arrhythmia. Cautious kept me bound to the pages throughout my reading, unable to focus on anything except the drama that was unfolding before my eyes.

Mia is more in love with Marcus than ever. She's strong and resilient while keeping Marcus in line (I love that about her), yet yielding enough to give Marcus what he wants and needs. They are perfect together, and their heat is blistering. Their love is so strong that the fear of losing one another leads to a plague of insecurities and possessiveness, prompting Marcus's Italian temper to unleash and passion to ignite.

"Feel offended, very offended and just take it out on me in bed."

Although their relationship certainly encounters its share of obstacles, they both know their relationship is worth the fight to overcome anything in its path. When Marcus learns of hidden secrets and betrayals, old wounds open and the demons he thought were slayed come alive again, bringing a familiar pain to his heart. Mia is forced to face and come to terms with a past that has haunted and hurt her, a past she doesn't understand. Marcus and Mia come together to support each other through these times, and the growth of their love is a thing of beauty.

"I'm completely in love with you, Marcus. Ever since I met you, I've found a purpose in my life that makes each day worth living."

With Cautious, we are reacquainted with old friends. Jeremy is back as clueless and funny as ever, providing much needed comic relief for some very intense circumstances. Jimmie, whom I am hoping will have his own book (hint), returns as the swoon worthy big brother, devoted to his family and becoming a good father to Elle. Cautious brings a lot of emotion, intensity, crisis, and fever to the pages. E.L. Montes has certainly maintained the stride set forth with Disastrous and exceeded my expectations with her writing in Cautious. The writing is beautiful, and Mia and Marcus are filled with love, passion, and burning desire for one another. There are several surprises for the reader along the way, and I found myself in a plethora of emotion throughout my reading. I swooned. I cried. I screamed. I gasped. I laughed. I experienced. Cautious gives us the perfect closure to Mia and Marcus. I can only hope that E.L. Montes will consider continuing the series with a happy ever after for Jimmie and another for Teresa, Marcus and Jimmie's mother. I've grown to love these characters, and I'm not quite ready to give them up. I give Cautious my highest recommendation and urge you to read this series in order. You will not regret one single moment spent sharing in the lives of Mia and Marcus.

... in life sometimes you don't have second chances, and you shouldn't be scared to just take a chance on something you really want. There could be numerous excuses that you come up with to avoid making that leap of faith. That day, I decided to take a leap for the reason staring right at me.

Marcus and Mia...
"Our relationship wasn’t fucking hearts and flowers. We weren’t skipping around town holding hands. We argued all the time. At times, she frustrated me and drove me insane. At others, she made my heart swell, and I couldn’t stay away.”

This quote explains them perfectly. I mean so perfectly.

I enjoyed this book even more then the first book and I absolutely loved Disastrous. I think I enjoyed Cautious more because we got to see Marcus and Mia work on their relationship without the consist fighting. They listened to each other and they respected each other. The love they share for each other just seems unbreakable in Cautious. Were in Disastrous is always felt breakable.

Marcus wants to get out the mob, Mia wants him to get out of the mob. Can Marcus get out of the mob and still have a life, a life with Mia? Can he keep her safe from the mob while trying to get out? Can they have their happy ever after and start a life without the mob and the danger? Get reading to find out!

E.L. Montes Thank you for continuing this fabulous story of Marcus and Mia. I can't not wait to read more from you.

I had read Disastrous a couple of months back. I liked the book but I wasn't left with that feeling of absolutely needing to get to book #2 to find out what would come of Marcus and Mia.

Yesterday I decided to start Cautious and I was about 20 pages in and I was cussing at myself for not reading it sooner. I did like this book much better then the first book.

Mia and Marcus was great together. Mia is that girl who was beautiful inside and out and who simply loved Marcus. She was determined to make a life together with him. Marcus was a mans man. He loved deeply but continued to fight that internal battle. He loved Mia dearly but wondered if he deserved her. Could he get out of the life he was involved with and give her all she needed with out hurting her. Would they get their happily ever after? There are twists and turns and some "geez, I didn't see that coming" moments which kept me turning the pages.

All the other characters were great too. You get the humor from Jeremy and Megan. I loved those two! And Elle, she was so damn cute. Jimmy was perfect too, loved how he and Marcus were with Elle. The situation with the little boy was too funny! I can't wait to get his story. Oh and the Epilogue was sweet and just right. :)

After re-aquainting myself with the story line of Distastrous went straight onto reading Cautious well intot he early hours off this morning, just couldn't put it down!

Loved the way the author introduces Marcus'POV through out this book,(which we get a glimpse from in Disastous)this just makes you want to rain kisses all over his face and hug him to death!

In book 1, Mia for me was a bit frustrating, but she definitely grew on me in this book. Great story line, and so much more action and build up of more characters for future books.

really enjoyed the style of writting by this author, looking forward to more books by E L Montes!

The name Marcus DeLuca makes me drool just thinking about him
This was my Marcus from the first book...

This is the sequel to Disastrous.

In that book we met and fell in love with Marcus and Mia.

 photo megangale.jpg

Their chemistry was amazing. Marcus fell head over heels for her and worships the ground she walks on.

But the Lawyer was keeping secrets. HUGE Secrets.
He is in the Mob.
He also knows what happened to her dead brother.

This book is about Marcus and Mia trying to make amends.

It literally picks up where the last one left off.
With Mia and Marcus making up…

Once they have made up Mia makes a bet…
Marcus loses so therefore he has to go without sex for 2 weeks and start romancing her.

Although they are madly in love with each other, they don’t know all that much about each other.

So basically this book is about romance, hardcore fucking, killing, revenge, lust, family, backstabbing, rats, deceit, honesty

And we get an epic ending and a sweet sweet HEA!

LOVED IT!

I was desperately waiting for Cautious by E.L. Montes considering I really, really liked Disastrous. I loved that this book picks up right where Disastrous left off & I also loved the alternating POVs. I read it, I finished it & I enjoyed it. Did I think it was as good as or better than the first book….no. The prologue & the epilogue were great. The parts where there was mob activity were the most interesting in the book. I loved Marcus & Jimmie & even Jimmies’ daughter Elle. Mia annoyed me a little in this book & I really was indifferent to her sidekicks (I do feel sidekicks are very important in a book) It was a good conclusion to the series & I would actually like to see a book on Jimmie. I gave Disastrous a 4 star rating therefore I have to give this one 3.5 stars.

This is a review of both books as I read them back-to-back. Wow, all I can say is that I haven't been COMPLETELY IMMERSED in a book in a very long time. I truly enjoyed them both. The prologues really clued you in on what to expect so the build up was torture. If you like action, suspense, romance and passion-filled scenes... these are the perfect books for you!!! Enjoy.

Loved loved loved this book. I thought Disastrous was good but Cautious surpassed my expectation! Marcus and Mia's love for each other was beyond words. I loved the fact that Mia wasn't some type of weak women regardless of all the misfortune that happened in her past.
Five + starts***
