Jenn, as everyone calls her, likes to keep things simple. That's why she runs a roofing construction business, teaches, writes and does her own business taxes eight days a week. She considers herself a multi-cultural and well-rounded person. Workers leave her alone when she starts yelling at them in Chinese and Malay. She also studies German and Russian because she can't pronounce French very well. The most boring and interesting thing she ever did was translating documents from various languages into English, giving her an opportunity to see many countries. Having traveled extensively in her twenties, she now spends her thirties quietly with six noisy dogs. Shameless Promotion: Jenn was a RWA contest slut, having finaled in and won a bunch of them including the Marlene, the Merritt, and Indiana's Golden Opportunity. She is also a three-time finalist in the RWA Golden Heart contest before she became published. She would love to hear your comments about her books. She has been known to give away bookmarks and stuff to those who praise her.
AND, if your roof leaks, she can probably give you some advice!
Here are some wonderful writing friends of mine. I love their books! Please visit their sites and give them a try. Be careful. They are HOT WRITERS. Very addictive! Thanks--Jenn
I read this book a very long time ago but never reviewed it. I skimmed some parts of Virtually His today and even though it's a good and enjoyable read, it's definitely not as great as Virtually Hers. That's why I decided to downgrade my rating.
I just finished my re-read of Virtually Hers, the sequel to Virtually His. Fact is, all the really good and interesting stuff happens in Virtually Hers. The first book hardly provides any "substantial" relationship development between Jed and Helen. Virtually His is more or less about Helen's training as a remote viewer and she doesn't even know the identity of her monitor and trainer until the very end of Virtually His. Sure, there is chemistry between these two and the first book serves as some kind of build-up that might knock readers on their asses in the sequel, yet you should be aware that this series is very tech-laden, riddled with Low's trademark spy-fi bits. Meaning, this first book is definitely not a romance. On the other hand, if you've decided to quit after Virtually His then you're seriously missing out on something very good b/c the sequel is much better. Based on Virtually Hers I'm more than a little bit excited to read book #3 Virtually One. After all, Jed and Helen make such an intriguing and sexy couple. Seeing the strong, quirky, and smartass Helen (Elena, Hell) Roston challenge the stoic and tough as nails "Ice Man" Jed McNeil is lots of fun and one hell of an entertaining adventure. Pun intended ---> Hell-on-wheels.
Some readers said that Jed raped Helen. I dare to disagree. We should look at the entire picture here. Jed and Helen invade each other's dreams. The smexin' happens during RV sessions but also in their dreams. So Helen called Hades in her dream and Jed came to her room. He while pleasuring her at the same time. Like I said already I think we should take into account that the Virtually series is not contemporary romance. Thus, I wouldn't say that he raped her and moreover, she actually begged him to have sex with her. BTW, she's going to retaliate in the sequel Virtually Hers and it was quite a bit of fun to witness Helen punching Jed in his face when she discovered that Jed was the mysterious Hades. *ouch* But he deserved it and even Jed knew that he owed her big time. He wasn't mad at all.
"And?" he prompted. She was just going to to have to be smarter. Think of a way out of this. "And take advantage of me," she told him. "I wasn't in any state to say no to you, you knew that." "If I hadn't known that you're attracted to me and would have wanted me before your condition, I wouldn't have come to you, Elena," he said. "That's not fair either!" she yelled. She leaned over him, wanting to wring his neck. "You read my mind or sensed my feelings or whatever it is that we share here in VR. Those were my thoughts and you weren't supposed to see or feel the, dammit!" "Those were my dreams you were invading," he pointed out quietly. "You weren't supposed to see or feel them either." Helen opened her mouth, then shut it. He got her there. She sat down. "Are you really having wet dreams about me?" He smiled. "We were both very wet in that dream." The book is marked as a romantice suspense. It should say - THIS BOOK WILL PISS YOU OFF!
I'm giving this 2 stars for the following reason: IT DID NOT END. No where on the book cover or blurb did this indicate a series. Even so, it should have had a satisfying ending. It did not.
It was also clearly NOT a romance! But if you like techy virtual reality stuff, you'd probably like this book. I went in expecting something totally different and was sorely disappointed.
This was a pretty random read for me - for which I blame Nenia (see: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...) . I probably shouldn’t have picked this up, since she DNF’d it - I should have known better. I should have learnt from her.
Well … I didn’t … in fact I doubled down and read this. Sigh … sometimes I question why I do this to myself (probably because I actually tracked down the physical book and bought it!!). I wanted something random - and I guess, this fit the bill.
This is a sci-fi / romance (?) book - something something “super super-soldier” hybrid thing. Honestly, I don't know because the entire story and worldbuilding was so confusing and unnecessary. Basically, our hero and heroine are ‘mind linked’ for some reason so that they can spy on evil people. Think spy drone - but the training part was pretty awful. It made no sense and the sci-fi mumbo-jumbo annoyed me. The fake jargon was unnecessarily confusing and did not add much to the read.
The romance between the leads was also a bit dodgy - for the book we don't know who our mysterious hero / trainer is. He invades the heroine mind in the name of training and makes it unnecessarily sexual. It wasn’t particularly sexy vibes either for me as it was all so confusing - it honestly gave me a headache. We have things like ”brain wave immersion, creating cerebral confusion between reality and confusion” - yeah sure 🤦♀️🤦♀️
The hero is an “anchor” and the heroine does “remote viewing” and the need to have “mind setting” - AARGH!!
As for the heroine - the hero says that he was “fascinated by [her] sexy danger” - kill me ! I am not sure where the danger part was as she hardly managed to fight back against him. And when you have the heroine fighting against the hero - the romance is not going to work for me. I mean the hero says that “seducing a dangerous woman was a lot like hunting a wild beast” - AARGH!!
There is really really odd consent and sex here - and I don't mean the bodice ripper kind - more like “none of this makes sense so I am not sure that the romance is happening or not”. Basically, the author wants to use the same rules as in the real world when it suits her or changes them when it suits the romance - AARGH!!
As you may have guessed, I did not enjoy the spy plot or the romance but the icing on the cake (or the crap on the cake) was the fact that this isn’t a standalone romance. This is part of a series - OMG!!! WHY?! The book ends without much / any resolution and I am not going to buy another book in this series.
This was boring - my notes say that I gave this a generous 1.5 stars because I was in a state of fugue while reading so nothing registered - but I am going to lower this to 1 stars. I didn’t like this. It was over smart and over complicated. The romance was not convincing and I was uncomfortable by the constant molestation. The heroine did so little in the romance and was passive to the “dangerous” hero that I was rolling my eyes. Plus the cliffhanger in the end felt cheap and the big bad evil plot was so weak and over-engineered - meh!
First of all, this book is a bit too technical for me to remember all the names, technical terms or the operation. The plot is beyond confusing that half the time I don't what is happening with the mission. So bear with me that I'm only going to describe what is happening between the H/h.
Helen aka 'Hell', is the military experimental subject who is being trained to be some kind of super spy. She had this rare ability to remote view through virtual reality and able to cope with the serum than most other operatives. She under the guidance from a mysterious handler, whom identity was kept secret from her. From the beginning together with Helen, I am curious and keep guessing who is this mysterious guy. There were several hot guys around the base and the author keep throwing hints at us, but some are just to make us confuse. Hah! By 30%, I guess he must be this guy, but at 50%, I felt maybe no, by 80%, oh is this other guy! I don't really like the writing and as I said the action plot is a bit confusing, but I kept reading because I wanted to know who is this mysterious handler. In the end, Helen finally found out. But us reader will have to know some hints from previous chapter to know who Helen meant.
Most of the romance plot is within the virtual reality where Helen meets him, but he only appeared as a avatar created by Helen that resemble a naked Greek God. There is one sexy scene only. I will definitely read the next book because I wanted to see how Helen gonna confront him.
Note: 2 stars is for half the book I managed to struggle through.
I can't continue. The sci-fi element is overwhelming the whole story! I'm seriously pissed off because I waited years (!) for Jed's story and while I enjoyed what little interaction Jed had with Hell, it was such a drag trying to follow that futuristic experiment of trying to create super soldier spies. This is actually my second attempt to read this. The first time I got so confused as to what was going on and this second time, I could follow it but only if I concentrated and followed the explanations as to how the remote viewing process works, its effects, what they're trying to achieve and ad nauseum.
This is NOT a romantic suspense. More like a sci-fi lab journal with a couple of hot guys thrown in.
I bought the second installment, Virtually Hers, which the author said I would enjoy as it's all about Jed but I'm not sure if that's true. I'll have to check the reviews first. I'm not even sure if I can read V-Hers without finishing V-His since the latter picks up where V-His leaves off.
The writing is just terrible. Only 56 pages in and I just can't take it anymore. Our heroine has three names, and our hero doesn't even have one. The acronyms are ridiculous and don't even make sense. The stereotyped "tough chick" from the streets of Russia and the mysterious "trainer" or "monitor" (no, our author can't stick to one word/name for pretty much anything. ARRRGGG.
A good read. At first, I really didn’t like Elena’s attitude. For a top spy, she was too whiny. She did grow on me and I love her humor. I thought the guy was boring but he was too good at what he does. The smut was fine and halfway through I was hooked with the plot. I honestly thought there was a twist. The author did a good job of confusing me as to the identity of the guy but, unfortunately, I could say it was obvious. I’m looking forward to reading the second book.
Virtually His was a bomb romance novel! I loved it! Appearently this is a spy novel. I just finished reading another spy novel and didn't think I would pick up a spy novel again. The cover was so eye catching that I picked it up the book immediatley not really thinking it was a spy novel!
This was the best all time down, novel, I have read in a long while.
This novel kept my interest the whole time.
I skimmed thru it a bit because I'm reading this for the summer reading program at my local library. However, I did get the genereal idea in the beginning of the novel.
I was so captured by the legitness of the romance in this novel. It goes over every detail of how the characters feel. I really like the knowledge of this romance and how it grows. I didn't think this novel was going to be like this, I thought it was going to be a little more corny.
Overall I'd recommend this novel. I really liked it.
I thought he was going to hurt her in the book, but the male in the novel that she's with is actually really attracted to her and he's really nice to her. I'm interested in how the characters feel about one another, and how much each of this is related to how I'm suppose to be feeling in real life. Because I have to say that in real life I just feel frozen, like numb. I do wonder about this. I feel so sensitive. However, this story was a whole different perspective. The heat in this story, was just something else. I feel like this is how i'm suppose to be feeling.
This book was the basic setup of a new series. It was at parts very interesting and at times very boring. I think individual concepts of remote viewing and virtual reality are interesting, but that a government agency would create a unit that could do both is fascinating. However, the time it takes to really explain both in a way that an average reader would understand is draining. I didn't think that there was any real romance in this book because it's based in virtual reality. Think the Sims game. The lead characters basically are thrown together through sexual imprinting. I'm not sure that's romance. So if you are looking for a romance novel then be warned this may not be your cup of tea. However, I think this series has some promise to be a good action romance series. I'm going to read the next book in the series and give it a chance to get better. Right now it's just an average start to the series. I would recommend this book to any computer nerds looking for a little romance in their virtual world.
It has been a while since I read a Gennita Low book. For the longest time, I eagerly waited for any book she wrote so I could pick it up and read. Ms. Low did seem to take a hiatus for a bit as her day job if I recall, is being a roofer in a hot southern state! Talk about two totally different occupations. I enjoyed her speculative fiction along with her psychic suspense type stories. This is a series I read the first two books and recommend for something a bit "out there" but now more accepted.

I loved this book. The Heroine was cocky and was a good match for emotionless Jeb. I think out of all the female characters only she could bring him out of himself and make him lose some semblance of his control. + it was about time that we heard Jeb's story instead of him always being that silent but compelling shadow in the background of everyone else's story.
There wasn't much romance in this book since the heroine spent most of the book trying to figure out who her invisible handler was. I read many reviews of people who were a little dissappointed with this story since it border more on tech and sci-fi, but it gets better in part two.
I saved this book to read until the other two books in the set, Virtually Hers and Virtually One came out. Little did I know that I was going to have such a long, long wait! But, at long last, Samhain is releasing Virtually Hers this week, so I finally got around to re-entering the wonderfully complex world of Gennita Low with Virtually His.
Virtual reality, supersoldier-spies, yummy guys, kick-ass women, and a healthy dose of off the wall sexual tension. I loved this book, even though it took me three reads to get the hero and even though it was the first Gennita Low book I read. I highly recommend that you read her books in order. This is a very cerebral book, mind games dominate the plotline. I'm only giving this 4 stars because there is at least one, and possibly two, more books in this story. This is not the end.
first few pages alittle boring then got into the real story and started moving along, the interactio9n among charactors was true to life, and blended well with each other A good romance/action book, Hell and Hades make a good team, the sparing between them, the best of the book, looking forward to the next in this series.
I loved this book. It's unique and liked not knowing who the hero/monitor was and it was fun trying to figure it out. The remote viewing scenes can be a bit technical but it became clearer to me the second time I read the book.
Another great book by Low. A kick-ass heroine and mysterious hero, with lots of mystery and danger thrown in with the steamy build up to one of the most memorable love scenes I've ever read. Love this author.
Ended up DNF'ing this book. Got to page 185 and not a hint of romance in it. Good story but not what I was looking to read. More of a mystery/scifi set up than romance.
I will agree this book was a Little hard to get into but once I got past the intro it really snagged and held my attention. Glad I have book two to go too.
