Nearly right off the bat, there was a sleazy, harass-y character whom I hated so much! And I loved hating him—the way this fictional man got so under my skin, I think, indicates strong writing ability here.
It also made me laugh, gripped me, intrigued me—I can’t wait to read on in this series. Overall: 4 stars.
✨ Irish folklore. 🛏 Aliens (obviously). ✨ Set in Ireland. 🛏 Workplace romance. ✨ Lies, scandal, some manipulation. 🛏Castles! ✨ Extortion. 🛏Adventure. ✨ Surprise / unplanned pregnancy. 🛏Aliens living among humans … openly. ✨ Fun world-building. 🛏Breeding k!nk.
Audio: The narration was okay … the narrator has a very smooth, gentle voice, it’s pleasant. For some of the time, she did insert emotion and bring the book to life, while for other bits she could sound almost robotic. I think, if she were to ‘perform’ entirely, instead of this alternation, she’d be a 5-star narrator for me.
Overall sound quality was absolutely flawless—5 stars on this front.
FMC is a reporter who can’t seem to get the eccentric billionaire heir to sit down for an interview… even though he’s the one who set it up! When he invites her to his creepy castle in the middle of a rainstorm, she’s pretty desperate to not be alone with the guy, so she invites the MMC to tag along. The billionaire did say she could bring a guest—he just didn’t think she’d know anyone in a foreign country to invite. When the power goes out in the middle of the night, she kinda-sorta ends up in the MMC’s bed instead of her own, but gets a lot more than she bargained for and upon returning to the states, discovers she’s carrying his alien baby! Now the MMC just has to convince his people not to wipe her memories and send him into exile for the crime of mating with a human.
3 stars. This book was ok. I didn't like how it switched between 3rd person pov and 1st person pov throughout the book. This made me confused at times, who was meant to be narrating the story. I wished it was longer or a second book with them continuing on the new planet. The characters were good, and the overall theme of the book was good.
Such a fun and easy read. Loved the insta-love attraction of both characters. Very cute. The plot of the story was very interesting and it had me hooked since the start. I do love aliens in earth.
3.5 stars rounded up I was in the mood for weird and for accidental pregnancy - this fated mates romance with alien forbidden relationship and miracle a pregnancy definitely fit that!
This was a good, quick read. I wish the first couple of chapters would have been less back story build up so we could have a few more chapters of pregnancy bliss before the epilogue. But overall - a good novella and I recommend.
