Loveable Christmas Angel is book #3 in the Angels With Attitude series by Mimi Barbour. This is my first book by Ms. Barbour and the first book I have read from this series. It was fine to read them out of order and didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all.

Leilana Taylor is having a rough few days. She believes bad things happen in threes but this streak just might break that rule. Leilana did not have a great childhood, her mother being very unhappy, but Leilana loved her anyway and did all she could to make her happy. Her mother has passed away so Leilana has to take her ashes to Hawaii. She has never left her home in Canada, though, and her girl friend can’t go with her so she has to take her first trip alone.

She also receives a mysterious letter from an Aunt she never knew existed saying she needed to speak with her as soon as possible. Things take a turn for the better when she meets a wonderful older man, Pi, and her accommodations are changed to the beautiful Jordan Hotel and she meets the oh so handsome Kale Jordan, the hotel owner. When they experience their first kiss, an intense connection is formed.

“Never before had any man made such an impact. Never again would she give another the opportunity to try. This was the man she’d been made for.”

Kale Jordan doesn’t have any plan to stay attached to any woman for any length of time. He has just gotten himself out of a sticky relationship with a crazy socialite when he finds himself stuck in the elevator with a beautiful woman just arrived from Canada. The last thing he needs is to let himself get involved with another woman but there is something about her. When they experience their first kiss, his world is changed.

“If he became her strength through the troubled times, maybe she’d learn to love him back.”

Things go from bad to worse when Lailana meets her Aunt and discovers how ill she is and what the secret is her Aunt needs to share. How much more can Lailana handle? Still, she seems to keep her positive attitude and deal with each new situation as they are heaped on her. Luckily she has the support of Pi and of Kale to help her through.

This is a cute Christmas story in a beautiful setting. The cover is gorgeous which first attracted me. I enjoyed Lailana as a character. But still, the story was just ok for me. I had my heart set on something a little bit more “paranormal.” It’s a short read, though, so still, was a welcome addition to my Christmas book reading marathon.

3.7 This was a tale of love, family, trust, forgiveness and miracles. We follow a young woman, Leiani, who is emotionally beaten after the death of her long suffering mother. A mother that was not the loving, sweet mother we all dream of, she was troubled by her past and spread her unhappiness around. Leiani, returns to her mothers homeland, Hawaii to spread her ashes. There, miracles and nightmares start happening. She meets an Aunt, she never knew, only to have another blow upset her life. She finds support in an unusually friendly taxi driver, and a man who seems to be just the miracle she may need.
This was a very heart-warming and sweet story. It also had some heartbreaking moments, death and the after effects and child neglect. It all tumbles towards the HEA you expect in with Christmas story, and it has the added bonus of the beautiful scenery of Hawaii.

'Tis the season for warm, simple Holiday reads and Loveable Christmas Angel does NOT disappoint! Leilani Taylor travels from her home in Canada to Hawaii to spread her mother's ashes and meet an aunt she never knew existed. Upon her arrival in Hawaii, she is met and befriended by a kind old man, Pi, whose quiet and steady ways always seem to give everyone around him comfort and peace. Leilani also meets a handsome and wealthy businessman, Kale, to whom she feels an amazing attraction.

Leilani's aunt is dying and begs Leilani to care for 5 year-old Mano, her grandson, abandoned by his selfish mother. Too bad there are two major obstacles in the way, little Mano distrusts and resents Leilani and suddenly, Mano's mother shows up to claim both him and the estate. How does she save this little boy, win his love? What about her feelings for Kale? Who is Pi?

This is one of those simple and enjoyable feel-good Holiday reads that is short enough to satisfy, light enough for a brief escape from a busy schedule! You won't find a huge depth of description for the characters, but you DO get the sense of the part each plays!

The Loveable Christmas Angel is a heartwarming story of romance and love. The characters are trademark Mimi – fully developed and so darned nice you’d like to add them to your Christmas list. The conflicts in the story are well defined and their resolution leaves you with the feeling that all is right in the world when love is put first.
Yes, she brought me to tears.
A great read, but make sure you have time before you start it, because it’s very hard to put down.

This is a short story (around 150 pages). I read it as part of the Festive Christmas Nights collection.

Leilana Taylor loved her mother dearly, but her mother was an unhappy person and that made life a little difficult for her. Her mother (who had always been attached to Hawaii) recently passed away, so Leilana headed to Waikiki to spead her mothers’s ashes in a place she loved so much.

In Hawaii Leilana gets stuck in an elevator with Kale Jordan and that’s probably the least exciting thing that happened to her. She definitely had some big life events that impacted her while in Hawaii.

For me, there was just too much thrown into the story and, therefore, I felt like the story between Leilani and Kale took a bit of a backseat.
Plus, a typical misunderstanding was more drama I just didn’t feel was necessary.

This was just ok for me.

Review:

"Loveable Christmas Angel" by Mimi Barbour beautiful told Christmas paranormal novella read. This was one of those reads that you will not be able to put down until the end. This author really worked her magic with this read. We find Leilani Taylor has traveled from her hometown in Canada to Hawaii where she is taking her mother's ashes to Waikiki and also visiting a aunt that she didn't know of until the death of her mother. Upon arriving in Hawaii Leilani will be befriended by a man named Pi who was one 'enigmatic taxi driver (or was he?)... Pi let's Leilani know that she had won a competition and would be staying a 'one of the most luxurious hotels on the island.' Later Leilani later meets a a wealthy businessman who owned the Hotel named Kale...to which there will be a immediately attraction. This storyline will really pick up as the author really presents the reader with a truly amazing read. From the incident in the elevator, meeting Leilani's aunt who is ill who wants her niece to take care of her five year old grandchild (Mano) and wait there will be more from Kale who was owner of the Jordan Hotel Chain....this is where I say you must pick up "Loveable Christmas Angel" to see where the author will take the reader. It will be a exciting read and in Hawaii that miracles and nightmares start happening to Leilani. What was this all about? Will Leilani be up for the challenge that will be put on her? The characters were all well developed, colorful and likable. Well, their was one that wasn't and I will let you read to find out who that particular person was. I found the ending of this story was perfect...'coming straight from heaven' to make this one special 'angel Christmas story.' If you are looking for a sweet and touching novel you have come to the right place for "Loveable Christmas Angel" would be recommended as a perfect read for you especially during the holiday season.

Parts of this story I wanted to call corny, remember though I am not a fan of angel stories. Leilani is over the top sweet and endearing, she never complains no matter how life beats her down and is immediately trusting of people. This issues I thought I would have difficulties getting past. I pushed through and found a wonderfully touching story with a holiday theme. The characters are well developed, the imagery is outstanding and the romance, though not overly steamy was still very sweet. I am not sure if I will read the other "Angel" stories, but I may see what other things Mimi Barbour has to offer.

Loveable Christmas Angel captured the love and spirit of Christmas in a story where every character pulled at your heart. Pi,'ilani or Pi the always present helper that brought peace to every situation and love to Mano and Leilani as they needed him. Kale the hero was strong and sexy and came to the rescue, while being a stain glass artist too, what's not to love about this guy? The perfect ending came straight from heaven to make this one of the best Christmas stories. If you are looking for a tender, touching, romantic Christmas story with lots of love, this one is for you.

Love Christmas stories this time of year and this one is so good for any time of year. Leilani is from Canada and she's going to spend Christmas in Hawaii, but the reason for her trip to to bring her mother's ashes home. Her adventure begins as soon as she steps off the plane and learns she has won free nights at the islands most prestigious hotels. The characters she meets keeps you wanting to read more.

Well written and full of good descriptions without them being in the way of the story line. You don't often run across a Christmas tale set in Hawaii as is this, or one that would make quite so good a made for TV movie special.

I enjoyed the story and think the book would have been improved by another 26-50 pages. Some of the plot seemed to be a bit to omuch condensed.

A sweet relaxing book with a few surprises around the corner., Lenani found herself with an aunt she didn’t know about but only for a day, a little delightful cuz who hated her and another that only want money. It’s clean and Mildly entertaining with a bit of Christmas magic flowing around, giving it a nice blend not too exciting but okay.

This book was by far the best of this series. I was hesitant at the start of the series but you could probably even start here as your first book since they don’t actually connect any characters along the way.

Leilani has had a tough time of it. She’s taken gave of her resentful mother for some time and now that she’s passed away, she’s taken her ashes to be spread over her homeland – Hawaii. The timing couldn’t be better since it is Christmas and she’s alone. A mysterious letter from a long lost relative only gives her more inspiration to travel back “home.” Through some sort of divine intervention, she ends up winning an upgraded stay, getting a wonderfully entertaining and energetic tour guide, and getting trapped in an elevator with a sexy guy. OK, so maybe she didn’t’ want to get trapped in an elevator, but it certainly doesn’t end up hurting.

For Kale, getting trapped in that elevator is just what his newly single, overworked soul needs. Leilani has a spirit that warms all those around her. He finds himself sucked into her world and easily accepts his new role. She quickly finds her old family, new family, and a lot of drama, too! There’s a bit of action, some bad people, but this story had me smiling and laughing, enjoying the true “spirit of Christmas.” If you’re looking for a good story to read around the holidays, this is it!

This is the best book in the series so far.. and that's says a lot. I was irked until the very last chapter where it finally got good. The use of big vocabulary was once again, unfitting. It seems like the words didn't fit into the story and made the sentencing off.

I also got annoyed how fast they fell in love and wanted to get married. But I do understand there are plenty of people who have that happen to them and their happy.

I found Grammer errors in the story just like the last book so that was annoying. Idk who edited this but they need to go back and reread the books to double check their Grammer. Hopefully the next book will be better,

A feel good christmas read about love and family! I did not realise it was part of a series but this did not draw the reader away or mention other books so perfectly fine to read out of order.
Some of it needed editing, for example the word finance was used instead of fiance.
Other than that, a lovely read! Interesting plot and characters, the story flowed well. A great start for me from this author and I would read more.
