Edward McAllister, wedding planner extraordinaire arrives at Sapphire Cay for a wedding. He has four days to go until the big day and his plans are smashed when he spots the stage he was setting is destroyed.

Doesn’t matter that the guy pulling down the old gazebo and digging trenches is hot – he is messing with Edward’s OCD and Edward isn’t afraid to let the other man know exactly how he feels.

Jamie Durand is a former-marine and son of previous owners of Sapphire Cay. He is on the island to get his head around his new life after leaving the forces due to injury.
When Edward arrives in his space he is bemused at the instant dislike the uptight man is showing towards him.

Not an auspicious start. But when Edward relaxes and Jamie opens up, then the spark of love can burn brightly.

A perfect opposites attract story with really likable and interesting characters. The pairing of Edward, wedding planner extraordinaire and Jamie, injured marine, is just fabulous!

Like the first book Follow The Sun, this story is sweet and gentle without too much drama. There are some misunderstandings as both men read each other incorrectly and make assumptions obviously based on their past experiences (stereotyping for both of them) but largely the story focuses on the slow development of the relationship.

Edward is a wedding planner who arranges a lot of weddings on the island. He comes to the island for a week to arrange a wedding where he meets Jamie. Jamie has completed two tours in Afghanistan and been injured. He has returned to the island, where he was raised, to spend some time to himself so that he can sort out what he wants to do with the rest of his life.

It's lovely to see the Lucas and Dylan from the first book make appearances. They are supportive, such as the advise offered by Dylan "Just promise me one thing." He looked at Jamie and pointed toward his chest. "Trust this, yeah? And follow your heart." His eyes brightened. "Lucas taught me that."
Follow his heart. Jamie nodded. He could do that.

and of course he does so we get a wonderful happy ending!

3.5 stars

This story is part of a series and is best read in order. Jamie is returning to the place where he grew up for some rest and relaxation and to decide what he wants to do with his life next, after serving in the marines and coming home due to injury he has a lot to decide. Helping the new owners around Sapphire Cay is a good start and when he meets Edward, the uptight wedding planner, sparks fly. Edward is a fabulous wedding planner, he has an eye for detail and may have a touch of OCD, when he arrives at Sapphire Cay and discovers the gazebo in pieces and a trench dug in the earth he nearly has a meltdown, never mind the hot, sexy and dirty guy promises it will be done in time. Spending time with Jamie shows Edward that Jamie is much more than a hot marine, but Edward lives in Miami and Jamie isn’t sure what he is doing next, and the sparks fly between them. Can they work something out or will they only have their time on Sapphire Cay?

Hot, sexy marine meets fastidious, cool wedding planner what’s not to love? Jamie has to figure out what he wants to do next, yes he might still have nightmares and his injury plays up every now and then, but at least he is still alive, meeting Edward has him looking towards the future and discovering all the quirks that the sexy wedding planner has. Edward might like having his life planned down to the last detail, but when he meets Jamie it’s shaken up with the attraction he feels for the tough looking man, getting to know the man under the image awakens longings he didn’t know he really yearned for and discovering the sweet and cuddly side to Jamie makes him long for more.

Ah such a romantic setting, shame about the sand eh Edward. Okay I’ll hold my hands up and admit I found Edward's quirks amusing and that’s mainly because although he was high-strung he wasn’t over the top or mega bitchy, he was also compassionate and sweet and seemed just perfect for Jamie. Jamie was a brilliant character, he came across as having a tough outer shell, but having a soft and squishy centre, he made a perfect foil to Edward and although they seemed to be very different they connected really well. The sexually connection between them was very hot, sparks fly and the shower scene *wow, fans face* is not to be missed. This story is well written and pulls two characters together that normally you would think would clash, but it’s what’s beneath the surface that draws them to each other.

I have to recommend this to those who love opposites attract, hot marines, sexy wedding planners, finding love, romantic settings and a great ending.

Jamie's parents used to own Sapphire Cay so what better place to retreat to after a tour in Afghanistan to heal both mind and body. He hits it off well with the new owners Lucas and Dylan and lends a hand working at the resort to pay off his stay. Sapphire Cay specializes in romantic weddings which is how Dylan and Lucas met in book one. When the over the top wedding planner Edward shows up and practically has an aneurysm, Jamie will either kill him or fall for him.
I loved this opposites attract story. The story read seamlessly and quickly for having two authors. The background for the island was already established in Follow The Sun so I was pulled right into the real story. Jamie and Edward were both terrific and very well thought out characters. Each were fairly intense but with a soft, gentle hidden side that endeared them to me even more. Edward was every awful cliche that the straight world believes a gay man to be but Ms Scott and Ms Russell made him work in this story. I have to admit that I would have liked to shove that diary where the sun doesn't shine. Jamie was a saint to have found the real man under Edward's prissy working exterior. It was good to see that the tough marine was just an easy going guy looking to find his future instead of being the typified hardcore marine. Lucas and Dylan were good solid secondary characters that we already knew from their story. The sex was well written and the shower scene was hot. I'm not a huge fan of the epilogue wrap up but somehow it worked for me in this story, maybe because it took place off of the Cay. There was no insta-love yet the story was not a slow burn romance either. Personally, I think hat the book can be read as a stand alone but the first book in this series was wonderfully crafted as well. The trademark Scott/Russell HEA was there as usual but with a twist. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Sapphire Cay. A highly recommended romance series, try it.

4.5 stars - such a wonderful, fun and heartwarming read! This was perfect for an early night, tucked up in bed with a cuppa. Once I started it, I couldn't stop until I had reached the final page - and even then, I was left wishing there was more! Not that the ending wasn't perfect, but I just didn't want to ever leave these two characters. I fell in love with them, and became so invested in their story. This was a vast improvement on the first book in the series, which was a 3.5 star read for me if I remember correctly, but both books are incredibly sweet stories and perfect comfort reads if you're looking for something cute and romantic, with interesting characters and a beautiful setting. I'd love to see more in this series, and perhaps a story for Scott? Pretty please?

This was absolutely wonderful.
The story of the ex-Marine Jamie that meets the prissy Wedding Planner Edward on this wonderful Island.
Edward is prim and proper at first and looks down his nose at the messy hardworking guy with the sausage fingers;)
But when said sausage fingers finds their way on Edward, things changes^^

This is a really funny and sweet sexy story, which had me almost throwing my dinner guests out last night so that I could get to bed and finish the story that I had started that afternoon;)

Hot and sexy and with kissing….Ohh my God the kissing!!
Made me feel that it was written just for me;)

Can´t wait for the next part in this wonderful series, which two lovely and talented ladies have created for us.

Ex Marine Jamie, wounded in Afghanistan needs a place to recuperate, to mend the scars in his mind as well as the ones on his body. Where better to go than Sapphire Cay, the holiday resort his parents use to own.Jamie, expecting nothing more than lapping waves and soft sand ends up helping around the place and trying to rebuild a gazebo for a wedding being arranged by OCD wedding planner Edward

Sun, sea, sand and hot sex, what more can anyone ask for in a book. I loved it

We are back at the Cay. Lucas and Dylan are running it now and it was nice to see them so happy and settled. Jamie is a returning vet and son of the former owners. He is trying to find his way back to life and thinks some quiet time doing odd jobs in a familiar place with do the trick. But Edward the wedding planner is really messing with his world. And would image it could be so good. But Edward has to go back and Jamie has to decide to let it go or rejoin the world.

Under the Sun is the second in the Sapphire Cay series by RJ Scott and Meredith Russell. It tells the story of two more men who unexpectedly find love on the island in the Bahamas.
Jamie’s parents used to own the island before they decided to retire from the resort business, move to Miami, and sold the island and everything on it to the surprisingly wealthy Dylan, whom we met along with his fiancé Lucas in book #1. At the time, Jamie was on duty in Afghanistan, not expected to return any time soon, until an untimely explosion injured Jamie. Following surgery and recovery, Jamie is forced to retire from the Army and while pondering what to do with his future, returns to the island where he grew up to relax and think. He is a trained engineer and has multiple options for his future but so far none has struck him as exactly the right one.
When he arrives at the island he finds preparations for a fancy island wedding that will take place in a few days, but unfortunately, chaos reigns as the gazebo, central to the staging of the wedding, is being pulled apart and Edward, the wedding planner in full-on panic mode. It seems tide, time, and storms have damaged the structure and all of the electrical cabling almost beyond repair. Luckily, Jamie has the skills and time to jump right in and help rebuild the gazebo in time for the wedding.
Edward is prissy, very OCD, and difficult to get along with initially, but the island works its magic to bring Jamie and Edward together so that by the end of the book we have another happy couple connected to the island.
This was a sweet book, and one I enjoyed a lot. Since all of the books in the series are long published I’m looking forward to reading the next book immediately.

Edward and Jamie's chemistry was hot right off the bat for each other. They both thought the other might not, at first, want someone like themselves but thankfully that was proven wrong quickly. So they held back a bit but once it caught fire their romance was wonderful. The connection was immediate. Edward showed that he didn't care about the scars and was more than willing to help Jamie through his rough spots. Jamie proved he loved everything about Edward, OCD and all. It was just Edward. Part of who he was and Jamie loved every quirk.
I was "awww-ing" all over the place when reading this. Rj, as usual, did a fantastic job in getting this love story to affect my emotions.

A quick sweet story

I love a good beach love story. Jamie is the son of the couple we met in Book 1 who sold the island to Dylan. He has come to the island for a bit to catch his breath and figure out what he wants to do now that he is no longer in the Marines. Edward is the fabulous wedding planner who works the events out at Sapphire Cay. These two have instant sparks and the story is old as time. A good read!

Jamie & Edward

Jamie is healing from injuries and needs time to heal physically and mentally. He spends time on the Cay where he grew up and meets Edward. The wedding planner is not what Jamie expected and he can’t explain what attracts him but there’s a definite spark both ways. Jamie deserves all the gentle hugs, Sweet guys.

Nope nope nope

It was awful. Couldn’t finish it. Edward is completely unlikeable. Nothing like the wonderful first book. I was really disappointed.
