Recently divorced romance novelist, Charity McCormick, has just met the Man of her Dreams. An alpha male with a heart of gold and a body of steel, Drew could easily slip between the covers of one of her romance novels—or any woman’s bed. But is it too soon for Charity? After the divorce, she vowed to take a full year off from serious relationships, giving herself the freedom to not just write about crazy, raunchy hot sex, but to live it.
In UNBOUND, vol 1 of the ENTWINED series, one award-winning romance novelist contributes the opening to Charity's story. But when our heroine finds herself at a crossroads in JFK airport, the narrative fractures into four wildly different pathways, each written by a different award-winning erotica author in her own genre. With shades of BDSM, paranormal fantasy, same-sex, and multiple partners, ENTWINED: UNBOUND is designed to help you explore the best of modern erotica.

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead. Choose your own happy ending, and get Entwined. Again. And again.
Debra Hyde writes erotic fiction for everyone, across the gender & orientation spectra. Her lesbian BDSM novel, Story of L, won the 2011 Lambda Literary Award for lesbian erotica. A modern retelling of the classic Story of O, it updates the original tale to reflect the contemporary lesbian leather world and the women in it.
Romantic Times BOOK Reviews magazine named it and her heterosexual novel, Blind Seduction, to its Fifty Hot Reads beyond 50 Shades of Grey, calling Blind Seduction “a story about what happens after the BDSM seduction.” She is a contributing author to the ground-breaking and critically-acclaimed Entwined erotica series, penning two lesbian novellas for it, Hers and Provenance.
Now she turns her attentions to her new erotic Charlotte Olmes Mystery Series, recasting the classic eccentric detective genius in ways never before seen — in passions both criminal and carnal! The Tattered Heiress, second in the series, was a 2016 finalist in both the Lambda Literary Awards and the Golden Crown Literary Society.
I received this copy from the publisher as part of a Read for Review.
This was my first "highly erotic" read and I was a bit out my comfort zone - which was one of the reasons I wanted to do the R4R. I was also interested in the interactive concept. It starts with a 1st chapter or story set up and from there, you can choose to go to 3 optional stories.
I started with the last option of "Wild Oats". I think this story line was well developed - I feel like I got a sense of the primary characters and where they were coming from (Charity, Michael and Drew). It was a bit mystical(some time travel) or "if you could go back and change the outcome", here was what could have happened - I very much enjoyed the journey charity took (very sexy and yet cute). Mostly though, I got the ending I wanted. This story line was enough for me.
In my interactive journey, I choose next to read Dear Girl and although the eroticism was not too much for my head, I just could not get into the characters. I found Meg to be so unlikable and Patrick to be an idiot, but I read the entire story and in the end, I though Charity learned an important lesson about herself and her "permanent/home ground" relationship with Drew and how it took on a great turn. Again, I got the HEA I wanted.
I tried to get into "Hers" but after about 2 chapters, I realized it really wasn't the story I wanted to read. I moved on to finish with Eight Days in May.Oddly enough, saving this one for last was perfect. This story line was so different from what I was expecting - the scenes on the plane were, well WOW, very sexy. Charity was a very different person in this story line and possibly the raciest and sexiest.
Will I read another in the series? absolutely. I love the multiple story-line concept and it seems perfect for this genre.

Well wow!! Wasn’t sure what I had expected, but wow. Id recommend this to anyone that loves different and exciting. For me the interactive was new but its what drew me to read it. Loved it. I soo enjoyed the airplane scene. Wow.. very nice.. I just loved charity!! She's a recently divorced romance writer trying to learn who she is. I have to give her props for just going for it. As open as I think I am, not sure if Id have done what she did. I loved Sir as well, very controlled but also in-tuned with Charity. I liked the diary and how it was used to further their experience with each other. After figuring Tony I and how he found his fit in, I couldn’t help but like him as well. The way Charity deferred to Sir, without much knowledge of 1) Him 2) of her own desires 3) the lifestyle Sir was presenting her with, at first through her dairy writing. Sir reminded me of the classic Dom He showed His own need, yet controlled the situations where it didn’t seem He was being a ass about it. Like He made you want to do as He asked, you wanted to do good to make Him proud. Patrick and his wife Meg … they were.. very interesting..(smile) wasn’t sure how that was going to work out. Charity showed herself as a capable thinker when she pretty much nailed Tony's personality and his need. I liked how she put her thoughts together. I cant wait to read the second book!!
When I received this book I wasn't sure what to expect except some hot sex. I was not disappointed! I was surprised that this is really 4 books in 1. It starts off with the story of Charity arriving back home in New York from a trip to Ireland. She receives an email that gives her pause to make a life-altering decision. Now, this is when things get interesting. You, as the reader, choose what path Charity takes. There are 4 decisions you get to choose from, all written by different authors. The characters remain the same in each version, but the decisions are all different and take Charity down different paths. I haven't read a choose-your-own ending book since the 1980s but I found that I really liked it. I read all 4 different stories and I think I know which one is my favorite. However, I'm not going to tell you which one it is or what the stories are like. You will have to read the book yourself. I will tell you that in each story the sex is HOT HOT HOT! Some of the hottest I've read recently. This is not a book for the timid or first-time erotica reader. I would recommend this book for those who are looking for something different, especially since you get 4 books for 1 price! {babusbookshelf.blogspot.com}
Unbound is a remarkable and interesting book. At first I didn't think I would like travelling through 4 different pathway to the same story. How wrong was I? Unbound took me on an erotic journey with the lead character Charity McCormick. Charity is a divorcee who is at a stage where she is not sure what she wants out of life. She's been married had a lover and now she wants something more... Which is given to the readers by 4 exceptional authors: Debra Hyde, Lacey Michaels, Cecilia Tan and Lissa Trevor . Each writer takes you through an alternative adventure experienced by Charity. The beautiful thing is you get to choose which path Charity's life will take. I was so captivated by each pathway I read them all and was thoroughly entertained and lost in a varied world of eroticism. I was hook from beginning to end. It was so well written by all 4 authors I was unable to say which pathway I liked more. They were all riveting. A fantastic read. 5 stars.
I received a free copy of this book from Kaamna Bhojwani-Dhawan through the Modern Good Reads group at Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.
This book has an intro story leading into four different variations determined by the choices and who Charity McCormick meets along the way. At first I thought the characters would be the same and although Charity's choices would lead her in different directions the end would remain the same. This is not so. From wimpy to punishing and endings with 'happy ever after' to ??? kept me guessing. I have not previously read this style of book before and found I loved it. I will have to read it again in different orders to see if it makes a difference in my enjoyment of each of the stories.
This was fun and I plan on reading it and more of the Entwined series again.
I have to admit I am not a seasoned Erotica reader or reviewer, but I had to write about this book because it is such an amazing concept. In Unbound, we meet Charity, a recent divorcee who is at a crossroads and is not exactly sure what she wants in life, much less her love-life. As she reaches a critical decision point in the book, the narrative branches into 4 different pathways that you get to choose from. From light and sexy to very kinky, these stories will most definitely make you blush! I read all 4 of the pathways and I have to say it was a lot of fun! I can't wait to see what is next in this series and who knows, maybe I will become a more seasoned Erotica reader! Move over 50 shades.... Entwined is HERE!
This is a Coliloquy of epic proportions written by four exceptional writers. Debra Hyde, Lacey Michaels, Cecilia Tan and Lissa Trevor takes us on a thrill ride with the character Charity McCormick, from JFK airport to Ireland and back. From the present time to the past and back. Each adventure is told in sizzling and arousing detail. You'll laugh, cry, become angry, become jealous and fall in love right along with Charity. In these hot stories Charity gets to learn and to experience what she always fantasized about with BDSM, M/F/F, F/F and M/F in a landslide of erotica. Will Charity ever find true love? Are has she already found it? I won't give it away! Enjoy this excellent book and find out.
Just when i thought mainstream erotica was not for me this book comes along. It's an interesting story line, one that many women can relate to: divorced, disillusioned woman trying to find herself. Thankfully she doesn't go into Eat Pray Love territory - she seeks opportunities for sexual exploration and the readers get to help her find it!
When I came to the choice points I could hardly contain myself. I read my favorite, then went back and read the the rest, and then read my favorite again. And now I have it by my bedside for when I need "inspiration".
I picked up this book with a little trepidation, as it was one of the first erotica books I'd bought. It was fantastic! It was well written, erotic without being cheesy, and the ability to choose different stories really let me explore different aspects of Charity's (and through it my own) sexuality. I loved that I could go back and read different types of erotica, with characters that I was already familiar with.
I haven't visited the website, but you can supposedly write your own versions of what happens with Charity (the main character). Not sure I'd want to contribute myself, but who knows?
Choose Your Own Adventure SMUT?! Yes, it has happened, and it happens in Unbound. The book starts with a general conflict and backstory for the heroine, then we, the readers, get to choose from several directions in which we want to take her. They end up being novella-length stories, and of course, I chose the dirtiest option involving D/s relationship and multiple partners. I didn't read the other stories, but the one I did read was HOLY HOT steamy. A fun read if you're looking for something a little different.
This is one of those type books where you get the beginning of a story and then you get to choose from a list the direction you would like to take from a list of options. And, you can go back and re-read over and over choosing different endings. I did not like the main character from the start so had no interest in continuing... so it's being shelved and un-rated since I did not finish it... moving on!
I was given this book for an honest review. I am loving the pick your own story concept. It has something for every taste. Now where can I find me a hot, rich, sexy as anything Englishmen to teach me about boundries! Hot stories, great scenes that are not over the top and added in love and emotion for some story lines that sizzle.
Found this hard to get into. Not sure about the "you choose" aspect of the book as I feel it would have served better to write three different books instead. Maybe I just don't get it.
