Surrender

Rate this book
"I am no longer the innocent girl; I am blissful, complete, and knowing."

This is Paula's story: a tale of explicit passions - a trilogy of erotic romance.

Part 2, "Surrender," commences where Seduction left off. Paula is drawn into her lover's world of domination and submission, where sensation and lust commingle with intimacy and trust. Paula has never experienced so much from another; nor given so much of herself. As Paula surrenders not only her body but her heart, she recalls her lover's warning: "If you stay, there will be no leaving."

Another very hot and short addition to this erotic story. Picks up right where the first part left off. Paula and Max have officially begun their affair. And quite the scorcher it is.

** I received a free copy of this novella in exchange for an honest review. **

“Surrender” is the second novella in the “Paula’s Place” trilogy. While this could be a stand alone, I highly recommend reading “Seduction” first.

Jumping in right where “Seduction” ended, Paula has decided that she must see Max again. Entering his world she has to discover the rules of being a submissive while Max teaches her his rituals and what happens if she disobeys.

What I found to be impressive is the story’s simplicity. It only has two main characters, although the focal point is on only one (Paula). Her inner most thoughts read like a diary of emotion and cravings, while she experiences shame to overwhelming fulfillment. Max is strong and confident, just what Paula needs in her sexual exploration.

There are definitely some sensual and steamy moments in Max’s office that could make any one blush. The language is old fashioned and flowery with just a small touch of crudeness. Wood’s ability to use more then 5 words in his description shows how masterful he is at writing erotica.

As all my GRs friends know I read tons of erotic romances many of which are BDSM themed therefore I must say that I am truly amazed that Mr. Wood has managed to surprise me with just how sensuous he's managed to write Paula & Max's story.

I normally dislike first person POV and I find 'old fashioned' phrasing such as bosom ridiculous. However, Mr. Wood has proven to me that is not always the case. I really had no clue that something written this way could be so sexy and hot.

As I said before in my previous review I highly recommend that you read them all one right after the other. They are exquisitely written in such a way that they grab and pull you right in. Surrender starts right where Seduction ended.

I would like to acknowledge that though I already owned this first book of the series the author provided me with Books 2 and 3 in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The second part of the Paula's Place novel (each of the trilogy parts makes up one book), continues Paula's journey with her author lover. With just enough action to keep you reading on to Part 3, the sexy scenes begin to flicker with some welcome romance as you head towards the finale.

The second book was even better than the first. Very intense scenes.
